"Mixed Feelings Despite Great Staff and Atmosphere"
We really like this place. Right now, outside looks a bit rough from a recent tornado (they’re fixing it), but inside is untouched. The maintenance guy is awesome. The staff is super nice, always smiling and checking on people when I visit. It would be better if they had more nurses; some work too much because there aren't enough. But, that's a problem everywhere. They always have lovely, fresh flowers on the tables and in the lobby.

"Facility Fails to Assist, Ends in a Resident's Serious Injury"
This assisted living place doesn't assist at all, don't put your loved ones there. My mom was there for just a month and spent only a week before she ended up in the hospital after a fall. I believe the facility is totally responsible for it. I had left her there as I was away, they informed my sister first about the incident and I came to know about it an hour later. They returned the remaining money which I appreciate, but there was no apology or follow-up call for my mom. The problems started from day one. I moved her in a couple of days before my trip so that she's comfortable. When I visited the next day, she looked all messed up because she couldn't turn off her TV. No one provided her with the remote and only one person checked on her the entire night. To turn off the TV, she needed two remotes. She had the one for changing channels, but the one to control volume and power was missing. Also, they neglected to hand her a call button. The one there wasn't within her reach. Other places usually have a workaround for this, but not here. This place promises a lot but fails to deliver. They said the emergency care is upstairs and I cautiously mentioned that my mom can't go there alone. They assured me to provide drugs down whenever needed. However, on the day she fell, she had to go upstairs all by herself because no one was there to assist, she uses a walker usually, not a wheelchair. They failed to live by their word to assist during wheelchair transfers. After getting her medicines, she waited downstairs for a long time. Unable to wait anymore, she tried to get off the wheelchair herself and fell. She didn't have a call button and laid there for a while until someone found her and rushed her to the hospital. She was already struggling with her mobility and after this severe spinal injury, she's confined even more.

"Caring staff, great gardens, and good food"
The staff are caring and friendly, always listening to special family needs. The place is very clean, and the outdoor space is the best we've seen. They have gardens where residents can grow vegetables and flowers in the summer, which is really nice. The food is good overall, even though they serve a lot of chicken. The meals are well-prepared and balanced, and I think the food is good.

"Poor Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
I thought the staff was attentive during the first few weeks, and there were activities for the dementia residents. But after a while, things changed. There were no activities for weeks, and the CNAs openly complained about the residents. The nursing leadership was poor, and the facility was understaffed. Staff members also complained about their pay. Unfortunately, it turned out to be just like other facilities with overworked and underpaid staff. Sometimes, there was only one LPN on the entire first floor at night, and medication delivery wasn't always accurate. The finance office was also disorganized; my bill was never correct during the three months I was there.

"Comfortable and Friendly Assisted Living with Good Food Options"
I like living at Elmcroft of Halcyon. The owner is easy to talk to. The staff are friendly and helpful. It feels cozy and warm here. Most residents need more help than I do. There aren't many men to socialize with. I'm recovering and waiting to drive again. Transportation runs on their schedule. They have activities, but I don't join much. The food is tasty with many choices. After meals, people don't gather much. Outside, I can get fresh air anytime. I'd recommend this place to others.

"Friendly and homey environment, though lacking in social opportunities."
They're nice to me at Elmcroft of Halcyon. Talking with Miss M. is easy. The staff are friendly and helpful. It feels cozy here, like home. I don't have much in common with the other residents. There aren't many men to chat with in the dining room. Most folks here need more help than I do. I'm getting better, just waiting to drive again. The rides are on their schedule, not mine. They plan activities, but I usually don't join. The food's tasty with plenty of options. But there's not much socializing after meals. I can go outside for fresh air though. I'd suggest this place to others.

"Comfortable Community with Friendly Staff"
I'm doing okay here, and I've settled in nicely. The only issue is the broken air conditioning, which I wish I'd known about earlier. Overall, everything is nice, and everyone is really friendly. They have fun activities every week, and the staff is awesome super nice and helpful. It's a bit pricey, but I still like it here and would suggest it to others.

"**"Enjoyable Visit!"**"
I had a nice time at this place. The staff were super friendly and made sure my dad and I felt welcome. The property was well taken care of, with lots of cool features and amenities we enjoyed. Unfortunately, it wasn't the right fit for my father, but overall, our visit was great.

"Clean and pleasant assisted living facility, not our current preference."
The Elmcroft of Halcyon visit was good. It's clean and nice, similar to the one we picked. It's not what we're seeking right now, though.

"Need Communication: Quick Placement but Lacking Contact Information"
I'm happy they found me a spot fast, but I don't have any contact details like a social worker's name or phone number, or updates on my progress.

"Excellent 24-Hour Care; Minor Laundry Mix-Up; Overall Satisfied"
We chose Elmcroft of Halcyon to ensure Mom gets round-the-clock care. She's prone to falls and needs extra attention. They've fully delivered on their promise. Always available and provide excellent care. There was just one small hiccup when they picked up her laundry too early one morning, accidentally mixing it with another resident's. This confused her briefly. But apart from that, everything's been smooth sailing.

"Fancy but Too Formal for Our Needs"
It was much pricier and way bigger than the place we chose. Everyone had to eat in a big common dining room. They told us they didn’t have care steps, meaning if she couldn’t dress herself and bathe, it wasn’t right for her, but I heard later that wasn’t true. It felt like a country club with fancy white tablecloths and a very formal vibe. It would have been really nice for someone without dementia.

"A Welcoming Assisted Living Facility"
Wow, the assisted living facility had a great vibe! It was super clean, and everyone was friendly. The Director was professional and caring. The Alzheimer's wing felt secure, and tenants could do their own thing comfortably. Plus, there's a lovely gated outdoor area for gardening, walking, or just relaxing.
