"Disappointing Assisted Living Experience: Small Room and Noisy Environment"

The room was tiny, like a hospital room. It was on the ground floor and had water damage from outside coming through where the loud motel-like air conditioner/heater is installed in the window. They promised to renovate the room with new flooring, paint, and bathroom handrails, but asked for payment upfront before starting.

"A Warning About Live Oak Village's Deceptive Practices"

You should be very cautious of choosing assisted living at Live Oak Village. Don't let their persuasive (and falsely reassuring) marketing tactics trick you into moving your loved ones there. They make promises that they don't fulfill. There are lots of things concerning about this place. If your family members move here, they're making a massive mistake. Sure, the place looks nice, but that simply masks the harsh reality of living there. I would strongly suggest looking into other assisted living options unless you want to subject your loved ones to a nightmare like my parents experienced. After just four months, my parents are switching from Live Oak Village to another facility that genuinely provides the care it advertises. Live Oak Village fell terribly short in providing the promised care. After my parents moved in, they suddenly claimed they lacked the staff to fulfill their commitments. Live Oak Village also has a habit of piling up unnecessary charges that it tries to make its residents pay, even when they were specifically told that the residents don't want, need, or intend to pay for them. They billed my parents anyway. Though it doesn't apply to all their staff, some at Live Oak Village can't be trusted. One worker even invaded a resident's room with the excuse of removing doctor-prescribed Lyrica, falsely claiming it was a narcotic. Many were taken aback by this blatant false statement and intrusion. Those who saw this happen learned the staff member had hidden motives. If residents can't even trust Live Oak Village about their doctor-prescribed medication, what else can't be trusted? Had we known the truth of Live Oak Village's flawed assisted living, my parents would never have moved in. Currently, they're in the process of moving out and settling into one of the many more reliable assisted living facilities nearby.

"Watch Out! Live Oak Village Disappoints"

Be wary about considering Live Oak Village for your loved ones' assisted living needs. Don't let the slick talk and falsely soothing marketing draw you in. They make promises they can't keep. There are serious issues with this place, and moving here would be a big mistake for your family members. While the outside looks nice, the reality of living here is far from pleasant. Look to other assisted living options before choosing this disappointment of a facility. My parents had a terrible experience here. They only lasted four months before moving to a better, more honest assisted living place that genuinely delivers as promised. Live Oak Village didn't provide the help it promised my parents, and after moving in, they claimed to be understaffed and unable to fulfill their promises. On top of that, they throw out exorbitant bills for unnecessary services, expecting residents to pay despite them not wanting or needing, and refusing to pay for, what Live Oak Village tried to charge them. Some of their staff and managers can't be trusted. One staff member raided a resident's room on false grounds, removing prescription medicine claiming it to be a narcotic when it wasn't. Witnesses were shocked by this staff member's incorrect assumptions about the resident's medication and their false claim being used as a reason to enter the resident's room. It soon came to light that this staff member had other reasons for wanting the resident's meds. If Live Oak Village staff can't be trusted with residents' medicine, what else can't they be relied upon for? Knowing what we know now about the grim reality of life at Live Oak Village, my parents never would've moved in. As it stands, they're now moving to a more dependable assisted living facility nearby.

"Kind Staff, Poor Food, Lack of Encouragement"

The workers were really nice and took good care of my mom. There were a lot of things to do, but they didn't push my mom to join in. My mom didn't like the food and there weren't many choices.

"Caring Staff but Limited Food Options at Facility"

All the employees at the facility were nice and took good care of my mom. The place has a lot of activities, but they didn't really push my mom to join in. She didn't like the meals and there weren't a lot of other choices.

"Live Oak Village is a great place to live"

I recently moved my parents to Live Oak Assisted Living in Foley, Alabama, and I'm really happy with it. Everyone there is super nice and easy to work with. We've had a few small problems, but they were fixed quickly, and everyone helped to make things right. I highly recommend this place. It's older than some other places, but we thought it had a better campus and community feel. My parents are settling in and are happy living there. They weren't excited about moving at first, but now they've changed their minds because their experience has been good. Thanks to Live Oak Village for that. God bless everyone going through this process. It's tough, but there's hope. Baby steps.

"Mixed Feelings, Overall Satisfied"

My relative mostly likes it. We had one issue: after a fall, there were some mixed messages among family members. Apart from that, he's quite content. He likes the food and finds the people friendly. No problems with billing yet.

"Overall Satisfaction"

He seems to be enjoying it overall. The only issue we had was miscommunication after a fall—different family members received conflicting information. But aside from that, he's quite content. The food is enjoyable, and the staff are friendly. Billing hasn't been a problem.

"Great Assisted Living Facility with Helpful Staff and Large Rooms"

This place is excellent! The only issue we had was with the medication arrangements. My brother, who is a pharmacist, provides meds for free, so we had to figure out a way for them to administer the meds while keeping them free. We worked it out for $5 per prescription for 90 days with their pharmacy (Omnicare). The staff is very helpful, the rooms are LARGE, and the location is great. We're very happy with everything about this place.

"Nice Place, Too Calm, No Treats, Needs Upgrades"

Pleasant facility, but it's a bit too calm for my liking. I didn't see any coffee or snacks available either. At around 2 PM, it felt like the majority of the residents were in their rooms, not interacting much. Perhaps it's their nap time? The place itself is beginning to show its age with outdated cabinets and appliances. My overall impression was that it could offer more for its price.

"Lackluster Management Hinders an Otherwise Nice Assisted Living Facility"

The place was nice, but the bosses were awful. My mom got sick and the hospital said it was from places like this. They sent her away and left us to fend for ourselves. They didn't lift a finger to help us find somewhere else for her. Dealing with them was a big headache. They never bothered to check before barging into her room, even when I asked. They said it was their policy, but they hardly followed it.

"Nice Place, Horrible Management: A Totally Annoying Situation"

The place itself was pretty good, but the folks in charge weren't so great. My mom got sick with something that folks usually only get from these sort of places or hospitals. They gave me a ring, said she was in the hospital, and she couldn't come back. They basically told me I was on my own. They didn't do anything at all to help us find somewhere else for her. It was a totally annoying situation, to say the least. And I'm telling you, they didn't help at all! It's actually a really nice place, but the people running it dropped the ball a couple times. Like, they'd just walk into her room without giving her a heads up. I even asked them, shouldn't you let her know or something? Their answer? It's policy to do that but they don't do it very often.

"Beautiful, homey place with cheerful staff and cinnamon scent"

This place is amazing! It feels like home, not cold and sterile. It smelled like cinnamon, and the atmosphere was lively and cheerful. The staff were very pleasant. I was really impressed.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Mostly Good with Some Issues"

Overall, this place is pretty good, but there were a few things that made me wonder. So, I'm paying $2800.00 a month and suddenly I start seeing $2.00 charges each day for something called "trey" on my bill. When I asked about it, they said it's for delivering food to a resident's room if they miss a meal, but nobody told me about this beforehand. I thought it was kind of petty. Also, the air conditioner in the room leaked water on the floor, and it took them a while to fix it. But my Mom really likes it there. She says the activities are fun, and the staff is really nice and caring. I guess you can find problems with anything if you look closely enough, but as long as Mom's happy, that's what matters most.

"Good but not for me. Felt too secluded, liked tour."

It's good, just not for me. Felt too remote, liked the visit. Marketing team was friendly and explained well.

"Beautiful Community with Great Amenities"

My dad picked this place because it’s close to where he used to live and he wanted to stay near his friends. The property is really pretty with lots of trees and a pond out front. The community is well-kept and pretty updated. My dad also mentioned there’s a pool here. It’s a very nice place. I was only there for a few minutes to pick up my dad for lunch.
