"Good Care, Needs Cleaner Rooms"

Summer Village is a decent place for folks who need care. They could do better with cleaning, like getting rid of dust bunnies under the bed. I found some when I dropped something and looked under there. Other than that, the nurses are great listeners and always lend a hand when I need it. I'd tell others to check it out.

"Disappointing Care: Lack of Supervision and Engagement at Summer Village"

My mom moved to Summer Village. At first, I felt okay. COVID surely affects things, like keeping staff. But, I think staff lack supervision. If they slack off, nobody notices or cares. They should check on my mom every two hours, but sometimes hours pass with no visits. They claim they saw me enter, so they don't interrupt. That's not a good excuse. Some staff just lounge in common areas on phones, not engaging with residents. I often find no toilet paper in her room. I remind them, but they don't act promptly. We've had two changes in the boss, but I've never seen the current one. I tried to reach out for special visitor permissions, but got no response. They blame everything on COVID and don't organize activities. Moving a dementia patient here can worsen their condition, but my mom likes it and has made friends. I don't want to disrupt her happiness.

We picked Summer Village because it was the best one around. The apartments are spacious. Overall, I'd suggest it for this area.

"Mixed feelings about assisted living facility; room for improvement"

This place is in a cool spot and the town is nice. I like that everything is on one floor and there's a lot of grassy areas. The gardens look nice too. But, we don't hear from the bosses much. The food is yummy. They hardly ever have stuff to do, though, and there isn't much to choose from. The hangout spot needs a makeover and some new furniture.

"Assisted Living Review: Camilla Place Tops San Antonio Facilities"

Camilla Place is great! The staff works really well and treats everyone respectfully. The residents are friendly and kind. We used to live in two other places in San Antonio, but they don’t even come close to Camilla Place. One thing though, they should have fire extinguishers. Also, the menu could use more choices and the food should be warmer.

"Friendly Community, Concerns Over Rent"

I really like the community here; everyone, from the residents to the staff, is super friendly. It’s a bummer to hear that some residents are upset about the rent going up, especially since we all have fixed incomes that don’t go up. Also, it would be great if there were more different kinds of food on the menu!

"Great Tour Experience!"

I visited this community for my mother, and I have no complaints about the tour. The staff were friendly and answered all our questions in detail. The property was clean and had fantastic amenities for the residents. However, my mother slightly preferred another facility.

"Hopeful Despite Remodeling and Food Mix-Ups"

The kitchen’s getting a makeover, so we’re getting our meals in to-go boxes right now. Sometimes, they mix up our orders. There’s a spot for working out that’s not too far to walk to. I’m kinda bummed because I still haven’t met the new boss since we got here. Right now, there aren’t any events for us all to do together. But we’re crossing our fingers that it’ll get better after they finish fixing up the place.
