"Missed opportunity for resident activity near community center"
Seabrook could encourage more resident activity near Spanish Fort Community Center.

"Unresponsive Staff and Poor Service at Assisted Living Facility"
You can hardly find staff around. There's a total lack of communication – they never pick up my calls or call back. Moving in was alright, but the food is not enjoyable. They do bare minimum cleaning here. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!

"Poor Memory Care and Communication at Seabrook Pointe Facility"
Seabrook Pointe needs improvement in memory care. My mom, who has dementia, stayed there for two weeks. The staff wasn't trained to handle her condition and sent her to a distant hospital on a Sunday. When we got there, the hospital had no available beds. They suggested letting my mom wait in the emergency department, which I wouldn't let happen. They sent her away without discussing it with us, and no one from Seabrook Pointe got in touch with us. The only way I got information was by showing up myself. They couldn't clearly explain what happened with my mom. They said she threw or pushed a plate. Seabrook Pointe also misplaced her 90-day medication supply. I asked when she first went there if I needed to bring her medicine earlier or sign anything regarding her medication. They said no, but it seems like they need to fix their admission procedures and checklist. I wouldn't suggest Seabrook Pointe for memory care.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
My time at the assisted living facility had both positive and negative aspects. Generally, they treat patients well, but there's a constant stream of new employees. I believe they should be more proactive in identifying issues without me having to request a urinalysis.

"Great therapy, but high staff turnover."
Having on-site therapy at Seabrook Pointe is nice. However, they could improve on staff turnover.

"Not Ideal for Memory Care"
This place is pretty new, but we weren't satisfied with how they took care of my dad. The staff in the memory care unit doesn't seem to know how to handle that type of care properly. Also, they don't offer many different activities, and they don't encourage the residents to interact with each other. Overall, it's more suited for assisted living.

"Communication Lacking at New Ownership Assisted Living Facility"
Right now, they're not talking much. They got new owners, and I understand change takes time. But with elderly folks, you need to act fast to meet their needs. It's been 3-4 weeks, and I should be getting emails or something by now. My loved one can't remember everything. When it was The Blake, they sent emails regularly, but the new owners haven't sent anything yet. Despite that, I'm not moving her soon. She really likes it there. It's very clean, and the staff is friendly. The new owners just need to communicate a bit better.

"Chaotic Assisted Living Facility Neglects and Frustrates Residents"
The service at this assisted living center was horrendous. Our beloved family member was perpetually badgered by the staff. Furthermore, his cherished collection of $2 bills went missing. Only a small portion was returned to us when we confronted the management. The living conditions were poor, with unkempt rooms and a faulty bed which seemed broken to us, causing our loved one to frequently fall out. The staff failed to meet our loved one's needs or provide adequate care. He was repeatedly sent to the ER on a weekly basis, leaving the doctors puzzled as to why he was there each time. It was a deeply frustrating and upsetting experience.

"Failed Promises Lead to Unexpected Costs at Assisted Living Facility"
We talked to the boss about our family member’s Parkinson's disease. They said it wouldn't be an issue and could manage it. But things weren't like that. Besides for the regular costs, we had to get a 24-hour caretaker. Our family member had to go to the hospital once. When they were good to leave, the place called The Blake didn't let them return unless a caretaker was hired.

"Not Ideal for Most"
The Blake didn’t do a great job explaining everything needed for moving in, especially when it came to medications. They also fell short on promises related to vision services and exercises. Unfortunately, they weren’t accommodating for vision and hearing issues. Overall, we didn’t find it to be a very good place. If your loved one doesn’t require many services, they might do okay here.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
Everyone was super friendly, and the place looked really nice. But I felt let down by the ADPH report. Fingers crossed for improvements.

"Good care, but price increased. Worth a visit."
We visited this community for care and were given a price. Unfortunately, the price kept going up. The community was clean and well-kept, and they had a good list of activities for residents. We would suggest other families visit this community to see if it’s right for their loved ones.

"Excellent Care and Support!"
I am very happy with The Blake. My husband is in their physical therapy program, and he has gotten stronger and doesn't fall as much. The staff is very well-trained and knows how to help the residents. If he forgets his walker, they take him by the hand and lead him to it. They are very loving and caring to everyone. They also keep the residents busy with activities. They have a fall prevention program with a wireless system that alerts someone right away if it goes off. I am so pleased with this place and would recommend it to anyone.

"Comfortable and bright, lacking toaster oven"
I visited this community for a tour. I liked it and the people there. They were friendly and helpful to both me and my loved one. The building had plenty of natural light, and the residents seemed happy. The only reason my loved one didn't choose this place was because there was no toaster oven in the apartment.

"Supportive staff made our transition smooth and stress-free"
The staff at The Blake has been amazing during this transition. It’s hard to see our loved ones needing help while they want to stay independent. The Blake’s team has supported us and made the move easier for our elders.

"Be cautious; Poor management and care persist"
The employees aren't equipped to deal with real emergencies and the nursing leadership is far from professional. A buddy of mine worked there for quite some time and I know someone who lived there, and it seems like they haven't made any improvements. When new folks move in, their stuff gets lost and their medications either vanish or aren't delivered. On a visit to our friend, we couldn't find a manager or even the person in charge anywhere, only a secretary in the office - and this was during the week. The staff are often harsh and seem unhappy, which is due to lousy management. Discontented employees result in unhappy families and patients, and subpar care.

"Blake Assisted Living: Quick Response, Mom Recovered in No Time"
My mom stays at the Blake. Recently, she got very sick at night. The nurse called us right away about my mom being sick. The nurse had already talked to my mom's doctor, who said she should go to the hospital. We were glad the Blake arranged for an ambulance to take her to Thomas Hospital. Because the Blake acted fast, my mom got treated and felt better, so she could come back home. She left the Blake around 7 pm and was back in her room by 12:30 am—a good time for going to the emergency room. Because they quickly gave her fluids and medicine, she feels much better just 24 hours later. Thanks to the great caregivers at the Blake!

"Thankful for The Blake's great care"
I want to take a moment to thank the staff at The Blake comes to a close. Every single staff member provides amazing help to the residents. They are so patient, especially when helping those who need extra assistance with tasks. It's great how they make sure residents get to their doctor appointments on time and even take them out to eat at different restaurants each month. The food has also improved a lot, especially on the weekends. The personal assistants are outstanding, always responding quickly and providing excellent service. If you're looking for assisted living, The Blake at Malbis is definitely the best choice.

"Concerns About Privacy and Medication Mishaps"
This place lacks privacy and makes mistakes with medications. I've noticed others getting personal information about me that only the staff should know. The medication aspect is concerning too. I have been billed for medicine I never got, and even experienced errors with medication changes and doses. When I tried to leave because I couldn't afford it, they said things might get better, but nothing changed. Even worse, they gossip about other residents' care. They claim they're willing to work with you, but in my experience, that's just not true.

"Great facility with friendly staff and tasty food options"
The Blake at Malbis is a great place! The staff is friendly and cares for the residents well. The facility is clean, and the rooms are big. They take the residents out twice a month, like yesterday when they went to the State Park for a picnic. The food is tasty, and if you don’t like the meal of the day, you can choose something else from the menu. I’m very happy with their services.
