"Safe and Friendly Assisted Living with Clean Facilities"
My family member is happy living there and getting used to it. I hope she can find more activities as she makes more friends. The buildings are clean and taken care of well. The workers are really nice and always ready to help. She feels safe and secure here. I think this place is good and would tell others to try it.

"Great Value and Clean Environment at Assisted Living Facility"
Overall experience - Nobody's perfect, but they do a really good job. Cleanliness - Everything is clean and smells nice. Friendliness - Never had a problem. Quality of care - I give a 5, but my person doesn't need much care. Meals - Food is good, but they need more low sodium choices. Activities - They have a lot of fun and engaging activities. Value - Out of all the places we looked at, this is the best value for the money.

"Great Value Assisted Living Facility!"
Nobody’s perfect, but they do a really nice job. Everything stays clean and smells fresh. I’ve never had any issues with the staff. I’d give it a 5, although my person needs very little care. The food has always been good, but they could use more low-sodium options. They offer a full schedule of fun activities. Compared to all the other places we visited, this is definitely the best value for the money.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The place is mostly clean, but the laundry room needs improvement. The care services are okay, but sometimes they forget shower appointments. The food isn’t great, and there aren’t activities our loved one enjoys. Plus, they’re raising fees by 7% next month. Communication could be better—my mom has to ask for the weekly food menu.

"Spacious Apartments and Courtyard, Improvements Needed in Paint and Food"
Garden Ridge offers larger apartments under assisted living licensing. Each apartment features ample storage and either a private patio or balcony. The facility would benefit from brighter paint colors as they can positively impact mood, particularly for those with mild to moderate cognitive changes. The food preparation needs improvement for residents with diabetes. Despite being an independent living community, staff should actively engage residents in activities and celebrations.

"Needs Improvement in Activities and Accessibility"
My family member isn't happy with the food. There aren't many things to do, but they recently hired a new activities director. The place is being renovated, and my family member's apartment looks great. If they had more activities, it would be a lot better. Also, it would be nice if they made all the doors electronic, especially for people who use scooters or walkers.

"Inadequate care and poor conditions plagued assisted living facility"
My time at this assisted living facility was a nightmare. I strongly urge others to disregard this place when considering accommodation for a dear one. When we decided to relocate my relative from this community, we found bugs emerging from her possessions. It was the responsibility of the staff to regularly visit and care for my dear one. Sadly, they failed. She was wearing the same outfit she had on five days ago during our last visit. Not only that, but her clothes were obviously dirty for quite some time. Lately, a new group has taken over the facility. Instead of investing in upgrades and retaining their staff, they're reducing employee hours. A member of the staff absconded with my family member's chair. It seems that residents have to go to the extent of doing favors for the staff just to get normal tasks completed.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
I liked this community, but I think they could have done better during the pandemic. They started serving residents in their rooms, which made the food quality worse. The room sizes were nice; they had a 2-bedroom option. Once things return to normal, I'd recommend this facility.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
The place was okay, but didn't feel welcoming. It's big. The floors in shared areas and halls were dirty. The sample room looked nice, but real rooms weren't as good. Old stuff inside. The guide said the food's improving, but she doesn't eat it. They're changing management.

"Mixed feelings about room layout, but found a suitable alternative"
I really liked the single bedroom unit they showed me. It was cozy and comfortable. But, I wasn't a fan of the Altec shared unit. The way the room was set up with a three-quarters wall at the end of the bedroom felt a bit odd to me. However, they did have another room without Altec that I thought could work well for me.

"Nice place but not a good fit for dad"
I wasn’t impressed with the tour guide; she was quite negative. However, the place is lovely. The food presentation was great, and the dining room is very elegant. The dining room is close to the rooms. The cost quickly goes up if you go over a certain level. It just didn’t seem right for my dad.

"Visit Felt Off at Amethyst Gardens"
We checked out Amethyst Gardens and I’m not sure if it was an off day or something else. The management didn’t give us the warm welcome we expected while walking us through the place. Usually, after looking at other communities, they ask us to stay for lunch, but this time, she just stood there staring. The place didn’t smell too fresh either. I hope it was just a not-so-good day. It just didn’t seem like the right place for us.

"Terrible Living Conditions, Despite Helpful Staff"
This has been a terrible ordeal for us and we're in the process of hunting down a new place - we sure aren't returning to any community homes. The administration team here doesn't seem concerned with resident well-being. The meals are dreadful and the dining hall suffers from a shortage of staff - there have been instances we've waited close to 45 minutes for dinner. The place lacks essential amenities albeit they do provide occasional shopping excursions. Despite the overall disappointment, I must commend the staff members. They genuinely aim to assist us and display a friendly, welcoming demeanor. Originally, we thought we landed a good deal, but we came to realize that most residents were merely placed here by their kin.

"Deceptive Facility Breaches Trust, Seeks More Money"
This place has barely one decent employee, while the others seem to care more about draining money from the residents than actually helping them. They swore they would provide my parents with all their health-related demands, their everyday necessities, and quality meals. They also vowed to assist my transition to memory care and obtaining the needed state aid since we lack the means. Yet, they went back on all their promises. Now, despite a state probe into medication mismanagement and false claims against my dad, they're still demanding more money. Let my dad have his peace. Let it go! DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!

"24-Hour Care Facility Fails to Provide Adequate Senior Care"
I want to be completely honest about the assisted living facility at 9270 W Union Hills Rd. I spend most nights upset because my elderly mom isn't getting the care she needs. They promise 24 hours of care on their website, but that's just not true. The staff is severely undermanned and they fail to look after my mom every two hours as they're supposed to. As a Dementia patient, my mom often has sleepless nights and wanders the halls. They excuse this by saying they can't force her to lie down and that she's fine if she's not falling or dehydrated. They even let her skip meals when she's not feeling like eating. When I inspect her bedding, it's often not clean and I once had to get them to clean poop-stained shoes from her closet. Her window sill is caked in dust and it's disgusting. On a visit, I once found her coming out of a male resident's room, looking lost. This is supposed to be round-the-clock care? There was another incident where a male resident was in her room sitting in a chair. It's heartbreaking! And when I try to call to check on her, my calls are neither answered nor returned in the night. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone ever!

"Amethyst Arbor - Beautiful but Beware of Misleading Information"
Amethyst Arbor has a fine setup with decent care provided. Yet, the main issue lies in their misleading information. We were repeatedly assured by their marketing team that ALTCS would be welcomed once my Dad's funds were depleted. But after he moved in, the story took a different turn, as verified by the facility's Executive Director via email. However, no explanations or apologies were given by the director, despite the marketing team's apologies. It's disheartening that such false promises can be made without any consequences, especially after we had to pay a substantial $2,500 community fee. They did offer The Inn and The Gardens as ALTCS options, but none of these were suitable for assisted living. Eventually, we had to relocate my father to another property nearer to our residence. Overall, it was an exasperating ordeal. I strongly advise anyone pondering Amethyst Arbor for their loved one to verify any claims or promises made by their marketing team with the Executive Director, and ensure you get it all down in writing.

"Perfect mix of care and affordability"
Mom has vascular dementia, so finding a home with a memory care center was important, and Amethyst has one. We had some issues to sort out before moving her, and everyone at Amethyst was patient, kind, and understanding—they never pressured us. Once everything was settled, Amethyst helped us move Mom into a clean, bright one-bedroom apartment. She went from refusing to leave her house to now wondering why we didn't do this sooner. She's meeting people, eating regularly, and is more mentally alert than she’s been in months. Amethyst is the perfect mix of a beautiful facility with a great staff. We feel very lucky. Plus, their costs are a bit lower than many other places, especially considering the services they offer. Everyone I've worked with truly has Mom's best interest at heart, and they’ve shown that since she moved in. I highly recommend them—I did a lot of research.
