"Friendly Assistive Living Facility Inadequately Cares for Alzheimer's Patients"
They misplaced her hearing aids, and some of her clothes. After in their care for a few days, they contacted me on a Friday afternoon asking to collect her due to her repeated efforts to depart the facility. They insisted she needed anti-anxiety medication to stay. I organized that and she returned the next Tuesday. On the following Friday evening, they phoned me to get her because she had escaped the premises and was covered in scratches from going through some bushes. They never gave her the medication. Although the staff were nice and lively, they really aren't equipped to look after mobile Alzheimer's patients.

"Disappointing care and serious medical negligence at Aurora Place"
Aurora Place was always having roof leaks and their air conditioning kept breaking down. During meal time, a medical worker at the facility wouldn't help my relative go to the bathroom, which led to them soiling themselves. After dinner, that same worker moved our relative back to their room and left them in their chair, dirty. My relative had diarrhea for two weeks and the resident nurse and other employees didn't even try figuring out what was causing it. When I finally decided to take my relative out of Aurora Place, they gave me their medications and I found out that they missed out on five days of their blood pressure and stroke meds. I think Aurora Place is a very unsafe place. I wish I could rate them a zero because even one star is being too kind in my opinion.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Clean, Compact Rooms, Courtyard Access"
Before COVID, the place was really clean and they had doctors coming in. There's also a barbershop on site. The rooms are kinda small, but the outside area looks good. They've got a courtyard for people to hang out in. If you've got the cash, I'd say go for it.

"Avoid for Elderly Care: Lack of Kindness, Poor Hygiene, Late Medication"
This place isn't one I'd suggest for anyone's parents. I get the COVID rules, but being kind and caring should still be expected. Being a caregiver isn't just a job; it's about having a compassionate attitude, something lacking here. It feels like they're keeping people in a prison, yet they expect payment. My mom, a 93-year-old with a sharp mind and feelings, cried, saying she didn't expect to be treated poorly after a lifetime of work. She even compared it to being in a real prison. The care is subpar; meds are given late, hygiene is bad, and laundry is always missing. In three years, we've had to buy towels, clothes, and bed sets so many times. There are no activities, no socializing among residents, and the atmosphere is dismal, even without restrictions. Enough said—we finally had to take mom away from this place.

"Mom feels at home here!"
My mom is 90 and visually impaired, living with me. I wanted to visit friends and take a vacation, but it's tough to find someone I trust to care for her and make her feel at home. I never worry about her care at Aurora Place. The staff is very friendly, and they take care of her meals and personal needs while offering activities she enjoys. She loves staying at Aurora Place and looks forward to her visits when I'm away. Mom said that when she's ready for full-time care, she wants to go to Aurora Place.

"Dad felt cared for here."
My father-in-law lived here until he passed away, and it was a nice place. They took good care of him, even though he couldn’t walk and needed a lot of help. They made sure he was clean and got him out of bed. They took him outside and brought him to the dining room to eat. They washed his clothes and treated him like a real person. It felt very homey, and the ladies in charge were amazing. I would recommend this place to other families.

"Mixed Feelings About This Assisted Living Home"
This place hasn't been perfect for our family. Firstly, everyone agrees the meals aren't tasty. The majority of the nursing assistants are pleasant and the environment is clean and inviting. However, one nurse has a rude attitude that's tough to ignore. We've had to report her multiple times because she's made my family member uncomfortable with her comments. Despite this, her impoliteness hasn't ended. She's said really mean things to my family member and has even laughed at her. We're worried that she may harm my loved one out of spite because we've complained. Lots of other people have also complained about her. Besides this nurse, everyone else is good and my loved one likes them. We hope the facility will take action about this nurse so my loved one can happily continue living there.

"Thank you, Aurora Place!"
We just moved our mom in, and we couldn't be happier with her new home. It's such a warm and inviting place. Everyone, from the staff to the residents, is so nice. My mom's studio apartment is just the right size for her—not too big and not too small. It's not just an open space but a cozy area with its own private bathroom, kitchenette, and even a small spot for a bistro table. I'm really thankful we found this place. My mom is happy, and so are we. Thank you, Aurora Place!

"Best staff and clean environment!"
They keep the place very clean, and the staff is really friendly. Out of all the places I visited, this was the best one I found. The only downside is the activities; they could offer more variety and happen more often. They allow pets, and the staff will help if they think she needs it. The support from the staff is amazing. They had one of the best teams of all the places we saw.

"Top-notch care at Aurora Place!"
My father stayed at Aurora Place for two months. They were very helpful in making him as comfortable as possible, even moving his room closer to the nurses’ station when he had pain. The staff is very dedicated and professional. They went above and beyond to make sure my dad was comfortable, especially during his last days. The facility is super clean, and the staff are top-notch professionals. It takes special people to care for the elderly, and the workers at Aurora Place are the best. The pricing was fair, and I highly recommend Aurora Place for providing a caring environment for your loved ones.

"Peace of Mind at Aurora Place"
I take care of my mom, who is 100 this year. I've been looking after her at home for 9 years. My husband and I need breaks sometimes, so we've tried a few respite care places. We found Aurora Place with the help of A Place for Mom. My mom had the best time and felt so loved during her stay. The staff treated her like family, which made our getaway much more enjoyable. I feel confident leaving her there whenever we need a break. Just a phone call away, and she's excited for her next visit. Aurora Place is small, easy to get around, and not overwhelming. Thank you, Aurora Place, for giving me peace of mind!
