"Assisted living facility poor in services and overcharging"

Our family member stayed at Broadway Proper (Stellar Living) for five years. In the beginning, everything was fine, but over time, he began falling and stopped participating in activities. Also, he wasn't doing his laundry or keeping clean, and he wasn't taking his medicine. His memory issues worsened, and he needed more care and supervision. We thought they were assisting him to remain independent, but when we suggested moving, he was convinced he didn't need to until they said so. We asked the Director of Operations at Stellar Living in Utah to tell him he needed to move, but they kept charging us more each month instead, promising more services. There were some services they couldn't provide, like monitoring his water intake as his kidneys were functioning poorly. Once he started causing trouble, they finally asked him to move. We're sorry he wasted so much time locked up in his room when he could have enjoyed a better quality of life.

"Friendly atmosphere; slow maintenance but overall pleased."

Residents and staff are friendly; maintenance can be slow sometimes.

"Mixed Feelings at Assisted Living Facility"

My time here has been mostly positive, despite some challenges. Moving in was tough, but the staff is generally great. They struggle to keep house cleaners, so cleanliness varies. Activities are abundant. The food is decent but can be dull at times. Overall, it's been okay.

"Nice tour but too far from family and pricey."

We had a really good tour at Broadway Proper. We decided not to pick this place because it's far from our family and costs more.

"Big place, but lacks direct care; chose another community"

I visited Broadway Proper Senior Living, and it was a nice tour. We decided on a different place because Broadway was very big, and I thought it might be too much for my mom. They also don’t provide direct care, so if she got sicker, she’d need to move to another facility.

"Adjustment to Assisted Living with Friendly Atmosphere and Activities"

My husband and I moved in here a few months ago. It's been different since we left our big house, but everyone here is really nice. The food is good, and they serve it nicely. They have lots of things to do. We haven't done much yet, but we play bingo and try the exercise classes. They also have a pool we use sometimes.

"Not Suitable for Me, But Friendly Staff"

I moved into Broadway Proper and quickly realized it wasn't right for me. There were too many residents who needed more help than I do, which made meal times hectic. I would suggest this community to those whose loved ones require more assisted living support. The staff were really friendly and easy to talk to.

"Impressive Assisted Living Facility Tour with Informative Guide and Activities"

Our family visited in person and liked it. The tour guide was great, telling us about everything they showed us. Residents were out of their rooms doing various activities. They have a nice gathering room at the front.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

This place is okay, but it's pretty chaotic. That's why I rated it three stars. The food is yummy, and they have lots of options for meals. But sometimes it takes forever, like 30 minutes to an hour, to get a table because they don't have enough kitchen staff.

"Conflicting Information Leads to Rejection at Assisted Living Facility"

When I tried to get clear answers about the help I'd receive and how much it would cost at this facility, I got conflicting information from different staff members. I voiced my concerns about the lack of consistency and was told, "Sorry, but we can't accept you. You'll need to find somewhere else.

"Broadway Proper"

We visited Broadway while searching for a place for my mother-in-law. My wife and I liked Broadway because they offer different levels of care as her needs change. However, my mother-in-law felt it was too big and institutional. We chose another community based on her preference.

"Assisted Living Place Was Nice but Too Big"

This place was really nice and had everything you'd want, but it felt a bit too large for us. The outside was beautiful, and inside was super clean and welcoming. They had fun activities, and a concierge was there to help with anything you needed. It kinda felt like living in a hotel all the time!

"Underwhelmed by Assisted Living Tour"

I wasn't too impressed with the tour of this place. The building layout wasn't great, and it was hard to find my way around. It felt impersonal and too big. It seemed disorganized, and it just wasn't the right fit for me in the end.

"Great Place for Independent Seniors"

If my mom could've taken care of herself better, she'd live there. The folks were friendly, and there were plenty of activities if you wanted to join. It felt like a really nice neighborhood. It's a good deal for someone who can handle things on their own. During the tour, they were straightforward and told us everything.

"Needs Updates but Informative Tour"

The community wasn't as modern as some other places I saw. It needs new carpet and paint. I got a thorough tour, and the representative was on time and gave me all the information I needed.

"Limited outdoor access; beautiful, accommodating facility; convenient living transitions."

This place was really nice and they were super helpful. You could move from one type of living to another without changing rooms. But, the thing was, none of the rooms had doors that went outside, and my folks wanted a place for their dogs to hang out.

"A Wonderful Place for Us!"

Moving here was the best decision for us. I can't say anything bad about this place. My husband really likes it, and that's super important to me. They take great care of him, and the atmosphere is positive. We are so happy with Broadway Proper.

"A Promising Assisted Living Tour"

I liked the tour with [Removed] and thought it could be a good fit for my mom. The only downsides, which might not bother her, were the small 1-bedroom size and the apartment-like layout with indoor entrances.

"Great Care and Cleanliness at This Assisted Living Facility"

I really like my community; they take great care of me. I haven’t had much time to join in on activities, but there’s always plenty of good food for everyone. The housekeeping does a great job keeping my room clean, and it’s nice that they also keep the common areas tidy.

"A Great Place to Live"

My sister-in-law enjoys living at Broadway Proper. The staff is friendly, and we communicate well with them. She appreciates the food variety and the daily activities they offer. I recommend this community.

"Maze-like halls in large place. Staff nice, place clean."

When we went there, it felt like a big school. The halls were so twisty, like a maze! But the people who work there were friendly, and everything was neat and tidy.

"Broadway Proper Offers Great Food and Activities, Staffing Issues"

The experience at Broadway Proper has been very positive. The staff really tries to make your stay as good as possible from the start. There have been several problems in the first two weeks that make me worried. I hope the staffing issues will be fixed, along with my mom's concerns. The food is tasty, and my mom likes the variety. It's too bad it wasn’t very warm when I had a chance to eat there. I didn’t think the "dinner" ticket I used for a meal was worth $5. The extra activities are really appreciated. They keep the residents happy and involved in events throughout the day. I’m so glad my mom is at Broadway Proper.

"Warm and caring staff; spacious, beautiful facility with amenities."

This place is big and pretty with lots of cool stuff and places to stay. The people who work here are nice, friendly, and ready to help out. Everything is clean and kept up well. The people who live here are nice too.

"Supportive Community for Parent Adjusting to Life Alone"

My challenging mother-in-law ,she has been living here for about 1 1/2 years. After my father-in-law died, it became clear she, who had never lived alone, couldn't manage by herself. Though she was against the idea at first, Broadway Proper (BP) turned out to be the right choice. BP offers transportation for shopping, doctor visits, and errands. Meals are healthy and well-balanced, with options to eat all three meals in the dining room or just two and cook one in her apartment. An audiologist and podiatrist visit regularly. They clean the apartments weekly, including vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning the bathroom and kitchen. They also change the bed linens and do the laundry for sheets and towels. All this is included in the monthly rent. Assisted living is also available. She became reclusive and stopped eating after her husband died, and she started making up reasons to go to the emergency room. Now, the BP staff escorts her to meals to ensure she eats enough. The dining room staff is very kind and patient with her. Even though she can prepare light meals and do her own laundry, she requested the additional laundry service (for a fee) and extra help with showering, hair washing, dressing, and medications. There’s a full-service salon on site, and the grounds are beautiful, offering many opportunities for socializing, learning new skills, and exercising. There's a lovely swimming pool and spa, too! Holiday events are celebrated with special activities and meals. The staff has been incredibly kind and caring during this tough time, even though Susan can be difficult. Her unit is clean and well-kept but looks a bit outdated from the 1980s. We hear that the apartments are being updated gradually with new kitchen cabinets, countertops, and bathroom fixtures. BP is a very safe and healthy place for She at this stage of her life. However, they don’t offer skilled nursing, which she will need eventually. BP is not Medicare-funded, so be ready to spend quite a bit. Extra services like additional meals, laundry, and showering will add to the cost. However, if your elderly parent doesn’t need these extras, BP is reasonably priced, especially if they don’t have a car to maintain. By the way, we’ve never encountered any lingering smells of urine at this facility.

"Nice place, overall"

At Broadway Proper, they do a good job overall. The staff is friendly, and there are plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. The facility looks nice, although housekeeping could improve. I've noticed pills left out in my loved one's room by the med-techs, which they should be more careful about. But overall, it's a nice place, and they take good care of her.

""Leisure Care Residents and Staff Highly Dissatisfied""

The staff isn't telling the truth - the feedback from workers and residents wasn't good at all. She says they were happy which means things are improving. That's not true - you just need to visit the facility to see the real situation. The residents and staff are clearly unhappy. Nice job, Leisure Care - great choice.

"My Mom's"

Stay at Broadway Proper was great. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Vayada. They worked hard to make her feel comfortable and meet her needs. She's excited about staying there long term. The cost displayed was for a 1-bedroom with extra services.

"Broadway Proper: A Comfortable Choice for Aging Loved Ones"

My parents are at Broadway Proper and doing well. It's mostly independent living with some assistance. Costs increase with needed help. I wish they offered individual services instead of bundling them. The monthly price covers two meals, one being breakfast. There are plenty of activities for residents. My mother, in mid-stage dementia, was hesitant at first but now feels very comfortable.

"Discontent with New Management, Owners Again Resentful"

It's awful. The new management has made everyone upset. The owners are indifferent.

"Downright Disgraceful: Management Fails Elderly Residents!"

My mom was a resident here for almost a decade. This place used to be awesome, but ever since new management came in, it's been horrible. It's not warm or welcoming anymore, and many others living here feel the same way. The assisted care they offer isn't worth the money. We paid for regular showers and medicating services for my mom, but she rarely got her showers, and we always had to check that her meds were given on time. It even took them half a year to get a simple stool sample that my mom's doctor requested! The last straw was when my mom had an accident. When we called several times for a caregiver to clean her up, they kept saying it was done, but she was still in soiled clothes the next morning. They had left her that way the whole night! Leisure Care, who owns this awful place, seems to know about these issues but hasn't done anything about them. It got so bad that my mom, and about a dozen others, moved out in the same month. Even their head chef quit, and so did many other employees. In all this, they couldn't even spare a goodbye for my mom, despite her having been a tenant for over 9 years. If you or a loved one need assisted living facilities, this is not the place. If you can fully care for yourself, maybe it'll work. But if you need help, I suggest you run, not walk, the other way.

"Avoid Broadway Proper: Poor Management and Incompetent Staff"

No one has had anything positive to say about Broadway Proper. Folks have been leaving in significant numbers because the management team doesn't provide the warmth and consistency they should. It's a shame that the company Leisure Care allows this to go on. I had to swiftly move my loved one out of there shortly after settling them in. Things that need fixing remain incomplete, and the staff at the assisted living facility seem clueless about their jobs.

"Poor Food Experience"

The food isn't great, but there's plenty of parking. Laundry services are good, though the food could use more variety. Portions are too small for my taste, and the staff could be friendlier.

"Beautiful Campus, Nice Apartments, Limited Care Options"

The campus looked beautiful with lots of people coming and going, and everyone seemed happy. Although it's a large campus, I did get a little turned around at one point. The apartments were nice, featuring a full kitchen that I loved. However, they lacked higher nursing care or a memory floor.

"Good for independent living"

We didn't need much care. The activities were great! But if residents need more care, they can't provide it—they're not certified. For independent and assisted living, they're okay, but they can't offer extensive care.

"No Memory Care"

Broadway Proper was mostly for independent living. They had assisted living, but no memory care, so I decided against it.
