"Unneeded Medicine Causes Problems at Brookdale Assisted Living"
From the beginning, there was a mix-up with our family member's medication. The head nurse talked directly to our family member's heart doctor about a specific medicine. The heart doctor told us our family member didn't need this medicine anymore while the head nurse told us that our family member was no longer taking it. But a month later, we found out our family member was still taking the problematic medicine. Then, they moved our family member to the memory care section because of a rapid decline, even though our family member didn't have any previous diagnoses of dementia or Alzheimer's. When we tried discussing this issue, we got sass in return. Our family member ended up in the hospital with heart problems. Once the bad medicine was out of their system for a few days, our family member's heart health improved. We chose not to return our family member to Brookdale after these issues. Despite appearing nice and shiny, our experience was awful. When comparing their assisted living and memory care to others, their memory care looked like a gloomy afterthought.

"Understaffed Facility with Acceptable Services"
This place was okay. It seemed like there weren't enough people working, and they looked really busy.

"Comfortable Assisted Living with Excellent Staff"
Brookdale Baywood is a nice place where my loved one stays. I'm glad they're here. Sometimes there were issues, but they got fixed. The daily staff are great if we need help. Laundry, dining escorts, assistance button, medicine help, cleaning, and the room are all part of the monthly cost.

"Mixed Care Quality, Friendly Staff, Spotless Facility"
I'd advise others not to bring fancy stuff like towels because they might end up shared. We've had some worries about care quality, but the staff is super friendly, and the place is spotless.

"Mixed Experience with Assisted Living Facility"
We had a rough start. It's important to stay organized with medications and navigating the place to support your loved one. They really let us down in the beginning. But once they got going, it's been great. The everyday staff are wonderful. However, the people in charge and medical staff aren't as good. Mom enjoys the food and activities, though some get canceled.

"Nice place for assisted living, not quite independent enough"
Our visit to Brookdale Daywood was fantastic. The facility is very nice. We wanted something more independent for our loved one, but this place is perfect for assisted living.

"Friendly Place, Staff Unseen"
I visited Brookdale Baywood and it was pretty nice. The main reason we didn’t pick this place was because we didn’t get to meet any staff members. When picking a home for someone you care about, it’s important to trust the folks who will be looking after them, and I just didn’t get the chance to know them.

"Spacious Facility, Care Needs Misalignment"
We visited Brookdale, and we thought the place was too large for how much help our family member requires.

"Inconsistent care, lacking cleanliness, and subpar food quality."
Watch out for fees and inconsistent care; friendly maintenance; poor food.

"Mixed Feelings About Brookdale's Virtual Tour"
We took a virtual tour with Brookdale. It gave us lots of information, but since it was just a recorded video, it didn't feel personal. Other places showed us around in person and introduced us to staff, which made it feel more friendly.

" Failed Promises and Poor Conditions at Assisted Living Facility "
This was probably the worst experience we could've encountered. In merely six months, management changed thrice and each set of new leaders made promises they couldn't keep. They said they would help us transition our loved one onto Medicaid, but that never happened. They let her funds deplete, and the place was just a dump.

"Spacious rooms, decent food; recommend for elder care."
The facility was great for my mom and me. The rooms are spacious, and the food is mostly good, though my mom wishes it could be better. They're working on offering a good variety despite the limitations.

"Regretful Experience with Brookdale Baywood's Negligent Care"
My dad was at Brookdale Baywood's Memory Care for a week about two years ago. For only the first half of his stay did they give him his medicine, which was supposed to be as he needed it. His well-being got worse and they sent him to the hospital, saying he needed to see a mental health doctor. But, the hospital doctor and helper said that wasn't right at all. They talked to the leader at Brookdale Baywood and suggested we move my dad to a different place. We did, but sadly, my dad passed away just three days after. The biggest mistake I feel I made was trusting Brookdale Baywood and its workers. They made my dad's final few days so miserable.
