"Friendly Staff, Happy Residents, but Costly"
The people who work here are super nice and make everyone feel like they’re part of a big family. They have lots of fun stuff to do, and the folks living here seem really glad to be here. It does cost a bunch, especially with all the extra stuff they charge for, but we think it’s worth it.

"Prolonged Negligence at Assisted Living Facility Amid Pandemic"
My mom moved into the facility right before the Coronavirus lockdowns, and the care she received was terrible. The food was not only awful but sometimes they forgot to serve her at all. She'd call me, upset and feeling neglected. The staff blamed everything on the pandemic even two years on. They only allowed visiting between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., making it difficult for working family members to visit. My mom needed help going to the bathroom, but the staff would say they would be back and then never come. We tried talking to the staff and they would improve for a week or so before reverting to their poor service. One morning, I found my mom in urgent need of medical attention, even though she was supposed to have her blood sugar checked every morning. Her meals were untouched, indicating negligence from the staff. After two long years of poor care, we had to move her elsewhere.

At Broadway Mesa Village, we really like the staff and caregivers—they're fantastic! However, they could do better with communicating with families. Still, we would suggest this community to other families.

"Friendly Staff and Nice Place, But Needs Updates"
We had a nice tour at Broadway Mesa Village. The staff were very friendly. It's an older place with heating and AC units like in a hotel. It was still a lovely place, just not as updated as we were looking for.

"Top choice for memory care!"
My mom needed 24/7 care after her stroke. After looking at many places, this memory care stood out. The residents were always smiling and waved during our visits while staying busy with creative activities. The staff was out with them instead of sitting behind a desk. The new wing is beautiful, and I can't wait for mom to use the spa tub for her first bath in 20 years. Moving from Brookdale assisted living was easy, and the costs were reasonable. I would recommend this as a top choice for memory care.

"My friend is settling in well."
This community has been very helpful in placing my friend here. The director is very accommodating. He is in memory care, and the caregivers are patient and kind. It is always clean. They serve three great meals a day with different choices and snacks if needed. They try to involve him in daily activities. He enjoys the outings and is getting physical therapy to become stronger. I would recommend this community.

"Feels Somewhat Depressing"
I visited this place while searching for a home for my mom. It didn’t give off a nice vibe. Although nothing was wrong, it felt like most people were inactive and sedentary. I sensed a bit of depression in the atmosphere. On the bright side, the facility was clean, and the tour guide was knowledgeable and helpful.

"Inconsistent pricing; pleasant environment. Monthly costs fluctuate, not reassuring."
The place has a good vibe. But I don't like how they charge separately for everything. It's like buying from a menu. But then, the bill can shoot up fast. And it's not fair because what you need can change a lot. It feels like the amount you pay each month isn't steady. That's not making me feel confident.

"Quoted Price Can Increase"
The tour was pleasant, and the community seemed nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. However, the pricing is a bit tricky. You might be quoted one price, but then additional charges get added, pushing it beyond your budget.

"Caring Home, Slow Payment Process"
Moving in was a breeze, the team was super nice and always there to lend a hand. The room we got is really roomy, and the nurses are super smart and get us. But, we’re not happy with how we have to pay. It feels old-school. You have to give your check to the main desk, and then they send it off to another office, which takes a whole week or more to clear. And if it’s late, they might make you pay extra. It would make more sense if they just noted the payment right away and then dealt with the check later. We tried to set up automatic payments, but it’s going to take a month to start. We ended up paying over the phone because we didn’t want to get hit with a big late fee.

I appreciate the care provided here. The community looks beautiful. Sometimes, the staff is understaffed, but they're quick to respond when there's an issue. The staff members are friendly. The meals could use some improvement. She enjoys socializing with others. They offer a few activities, but more staff is needed most of the time. I recommend families check out this community to see if it meets their loved one's needs.

"Dreadful Experience at Brookdale: Avoid at All Costs"
This place was understaffed - helpers, kitchen staff, everybody. The food was terrible and always cold. There wasn't any kind of comforting dishes ever served, like beef stew or chicken and noodles. Basic things like straws, salsa and even cheese for spaghetti were missing. They force you to give a 30-day notice before moving out, which is absurd for this kind of residents and place. They need to improve things like in-room intercoms, quieter air conditioning, and easy access to water or an ice machine. I will let others know about the abysmal experience my mom had here, and persuade them to thoroughly research before considering a place like Brookdale for their loved ones. It was an eye opener on how our elderly are treated in these care centers. I'd rather be shot than go through this experience again. What goes around comes around.

"Consider Other Options, Very Disappointing Service!"
I strongly suggest you steer clear of this place. Its reality is far from the image they present during their tours. They make a lot of promises but fail to deliver. The meals are served cold, and they hardly assist with your needs. I caught their staff taking my mum's meds. They didn't bother to help her use the bathroom and even let her sit in her own urine for hours, despite the extra charge I paid for bathroom aid. I would definitely not recommend it to anyone!

Brookdale Broadway Mesa has been great overall. After our tour, it felt friendlier and more like home compared to other big communities. "Review of Limited Space and Amenities at Assisted Living"
As of now, I'm not prepared to give a final rating, but I must say, the rooms are extremely cramped. The storage space in the bedrooms is nearly nonexistent. On the bright side, the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, there's no pool available here. The kitchen set-up is very basic with just a microwave, sink, and refrigerator plus one tiny counter space.

"Avoid this Place: Disorganized Staff and Overcharged Bills"
I'm really not satisfied with this assisted living facility. I was initially impressed thanks to Kelly giving a great tour, but moving my dad here has been a pain. The staff responsible for medication have no clue what they're doing. They didn't bother telling me my dad was out of his blood thinning and cholesterol drugs until he ran out. It's a hassle for me to order more from the VA and then wait for them to arrive. But then when I do bring in his medicine, they tell me another prescription is empty. The lady who called could barely communicate in English and couldn't even name the prescription that was missing. Then there's the whole payment issue. I set up monthly payments to be taken out of my account electronically starting July 1st. When that didn't happen right away, I gave a check to a lady who promised to destroy it if the electronic payment deducted by July 5th. However, they cashed the check the very next day and still took the electronic payment, overcharging me by $4,000. When I called Jenae, who's in charge of the accounts, she was really cheeky and said there'll just be a credit applied to next month's bill. But this is $1,000 more than the monthly cost anyway. I called the head office in Seattle and they were much kinder and agreed the facility should have just given me a refund. This is still not sorted out. A positive note is Morgan, a new nursing assistant. She's friendly and seems more attentive than the rest. But all in all, I wouldn't suggest anyone send their loved ones to this place.

"Wonderful Place with Great Dining Hours!"
My mother moved there because my brother and sister-in-law live nearby, and she wanted to be in the desert. From what I know, she's doing really well. I haven’t been able to reach her lately because she’s either not in her room or has company. So, she's happy, busy, and doing great. They used to be called Merrill Gardens but were recently bought by Emeritus. The only changes will be where they get their food and medications. It’s still a very nice place, and I was really impressed with how everything is managed. It’s a wonderful place. What I love the most is their open dining hours. The dining room is open from 7 am to 7 pm, which is fantastic. I wish more places did this. I’m not sure if this will change now that they’ve been bought.

The assisted living facility has really nice grounds, and the people who work there are super friendly. But the food might be a bit too fancy for some folks.
