"Friendly Staff, Food Needs Improvement in Assisted Living Facility"

The staff here is really nice and caring. They try hard to help as much as they can based on how much care each person needs. The food could be better. Sometimes things are overcooked, and they should have more choices. They only serve one main dish at each meal, and the only other option is grilled cheese.

"Brookdale Shines for Seniors"

I recommend Brookdale Chandler Ray Road. The staff is friendly, especially the Activities Director who encourages my Mom to participate. We resolved a payment challenge. The food lacks fresh vegetables, but family events are wonderful.

"“Assisted Living Improves, Nurse Shines”"

At first, things were rough. No housekeeping, slow response. But it’s much better now. The nurse is amazing. I feel at ease. Meals improved.

"Disappointed with Assisted Living: Fees Kept Adding Up"

When we first joined, they said the room cost wouldn't change. But they kept adding fees for services, medicine, and visitors. Staff changed a lot, and they didn't communicate well. The price was way too high.

"Mixed Feelings on Brookdale Chandler Assisted Living Facility"

Our online tour was nice. We saw a lot and talked well. But, the place just didn’t click for us. Apartments were small and the layout wasn’t right. Different care types mixed together, which is okay, but we prefer more organization. Reading other reviews, we skipped visiting in person. The tour was good, a 4.5 for that. Overall, we rate the community a 3.5, based on what we like.

"Aging Facility with Informed Staff"

The staff knew a lot, and the rooms were nice. The only downside was the facility’s age.

"Assisted Living Community Review"

This community is really nice. The staff are super helpful and friendly to residents and family. You can visit if you test negative for COVID. They also offer virtual visits if scheduled ahead of time.

"Great Facility, Pricey"

This place is really nice! The staff is super friendly, and the rooms are great. Services and amenities are top-notch, but the price is a bit high for us.

"A Lovely Choice"

I liked the Brookdale Chandler Ray Road place. It's pretty and neat. The people who work there are nice and ready to help. They would've been very understanding about what we needed. But we picked a different place because a family member wanted to be closer.

"Great Place with Excellent Amenities and Support!"

I picked Brookdale Chandler as soon as I visited it. They had everything I wanted, with great amenities and the best price I had found so far. They have treated me well, kept me updated, and helped me through the whole process. It means a lot for my peace of mind and to see my dad happy and enjoying life again. Thank you so much!

"Clean and Welcoming Assisted Living with Reasonable Pricing"

The place is clean, and each apartment has a nice setup. The outdoor walk area is great, and the lady who greeted us was helpful. The price is reasonable, except for the initial fees.

I'm doing well since moving here. Everyone's been kind and helpful. The community looks great and is well-kept. I'm happy with everything they've done for me.

My mom is doing great since moving here. Everything's going well.

"Pleased with My Move"

I'm doing great since moving to this facility. Everyone has been really nice and helpful. The community looks fantastic and well-maintained. I'm happy with everything they've done for me.

"Clean, friendly place; mom's happy with food and care."

My mom's doing okay, she likes the food here. At first, we had some trouble with the bills, but they fixed it, and now everything's fine. Whenever I come to visit, the place is always clean and looks nice. I don't have anything else to compare it to because this is the first time my mom's been in a place like this, but so far, everything seems to be going pretty well with how they're taking care of her.

"Disappointing Rooms Despite Awesome Tour"

I had a really cool tour at the assisted living place, but the rooms weren't great. They seemed too plain and not cozy, plus they were small and looked old. The people who work there and live there were friendly when I visited. But the dining room wasn't anything special, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, everyone was nice though.

"Community Thrives with Active, Healthy Living"

I'm pleased with the community. The staff is kind and friendly. The food looks good and healthy. They offer plenty of enjoyable activities to stay active. I'd suggest this community to other families.

"Mom is happy and content here!"

They’ve done a great job so far; my loved one really seems to be enjoying herself here! She has a big window with a great view and loves watching her bird feeder. The staff are friendly and very accommodating, always ready to help with anything you ask (but you do need to ask!). The lady at the front desk always greets me with a smile when I visit. What really matters is that Mom seems happy and content here, and if she is happy, I am happy!

"Good Choice"

My mom is doing really well since moving into Brookdale. I'm very happy with this community. It looks great, and they keep it clean. The staff has been kind and helpful to us. They offer activities for the residents, which my mom enjoys. Overall, it's been a good place to move her to, with friendly people. I would recommend this community.

"Feels Like Family"

This place feels like family because it's a small community. The staff spends time with each resident one-on-one, which is great. However, they could try harder to get residents involved in activities.

"Impressive Assisted Living with Minor Transport Issue"

The staff and facilities are top-notch. My wife and I were very impressed overall. However, the transport staff had some issues getting my dad from Desert Cove on Thursday the 28th. Still, we give high praise to everyone.

"Small but Changing Facility"

As of July, when we left, it was going through some changes. It’s pretty small compared to other places.

"Excellent care for Mom, staff is accommodating and attentive."

They're helping my Mom a lot and they've been really nice. There was an issue with Mom not eating enough, but I talked to the staff about it. They made sure Mom's meals were heated up and ready for her in case she got hungry later.

"Improvement Needed in Activities"

The activities are nice, but they should motivate residents to participate more. Unfortunately, they don't offer weekend or holiday activities due to limited staff.

"Unsatisfied Family Shares Harrowing Experience at Brookdale Assisted Living"

Brookdale says they're a caring, loving family for their residents, but they didn't seem to care about my 98-year-old grandma at all. Twice, my family found her in really bad spots - once she was stuck on the toilet, and another time she'd fallen and was lying on the floor. We have no idea how long she was stuck like that, calling for help. After she fell, she got really sick and had to be hospitalized. She was then moved into hospice care. Brookdale had given us a reduced rate for the month she moved in, but didn't give us a break when she left. Even though my grandma was there less than 30 days, we still had to cough up $6,800. At first, Brookdale seems really sweet and caring, but in the end, it just feels like they're a big business, only interested in making money off your loved ones. We didn't feel like they truly cared about my grandma at all. I definitely wouldn't recommend Brookdale, or any other of its places, to anyone looking for assisted living care.

"Very Patient and Attentive Care for Residents"

My grandmother lives at Brookdale Chandler Ray Road, and they take excellent care of her. They are very patient and always work hard to make sure she is comfortable. If there’s any care she needs that they can’t provide, they are great about finding the help she needs.

"Passable Care Facility, Communication Issues Present"

They're doing fine for now. We've had a few problems with getting in touch with their health care manager. The place is tidy and the workers are nice. The meals look tasty. However, the activities don't really appeal to my family member. They give the facility an overall score of 3 out of 5.

"Would Recommend Despite Billing Issues"

The billing process needs to get better. I'd suggest this place, but I have to move Mom to a different facility.

"Good and Bad Sides at Brookdale Chandler Ray Road"

Our experience with Brookdale Chandler Ray Road was definitely a mixed bag. The place was neat and tidy, which we liked. But there were a few problems that kinda spoiled the whole thing for us. Trying to talk to the people in charge about a billing thing we didn't understand was a big headache. We called and left messages so many times, but no one ever called us back. It got to the point where we had to go over their heads and call their main office just to get a call back. Plus, when our family member was in their last days there, we felt like the staff didn't pay enough attention to them. That really bugged us because that was an important time.

"Felt Like Old Folks Home, Not Comfortable"

We checked out this place when searching for care facilities for our family members. I didn't really like this place much. It felt more like a kind of "old folks' home" with a distinct smell. I didn't think my family members would be at ease here.

"At the moment, Sterling House is undergoing renovations."

At the moment, Sterling House is going through a lot of renovations. There are painters everywhere and construction messes. Since my father moved in about three weeks ago, it has been good. We're still adjusting and getting used to how it works. The staff is friendly, helpful, and tries hard to take care of his needs. My first impressions have been positive, so definitely check it out.

"Wonderful place but a rough initial adjustment."

The first few weeks were tough when we brought someone in. They accept people regardless of their ability to care for them. With our constant help, it worked out. The place is beautiful, but it didn't quite fit. They promised to make it work, but without our nearby support, it would have been challenging, especially during the initial adjustment period. The food is fantastic—it's very good. The facility is wonderful, like a cozy studio apartment. I'd recommend it to anyone; it's secure and offers lots of activities. The initial setup and adjustment were the main challenges.

"Rooms Too Small for Us"

The assisted living facility was pricier than other places we considered. The staff was super friendly and helpful, but the residents didn't seem as happy as in other communities. The rooms were clean but too small for our taste. While there's no kitchen, they do provide a refrigerator and a microwave.

"Dark Living Space, Friendly Staff, Restaurant-style Dining"

The place where she'd live looked really sad. It was all dark floors and walls, and it didn't feel cozy or welcoming at all. On the bright side, the people who work there were really nice and answered all our questions.

"Sterling House: A Costly Mistake for Our Family"

My family and I had a poor experience at Sterling House of Chandler. Although we were initially impressed with their presentation and tours, our actual experience was far from what was promised. My mom was not warmly greeted on her first day and was not introduced to anyone. She didn't get a key for her room until days later, which was problematic because the doors auto-lock. One of our major concerns was assistance with bathing, but my mom didn't get a shower the entire stay. One day, mom didn't receive her medicine, so my sister tried to find it. The staff let her search through all the residents' medication, only to discover mom was given incorrect dosage. We were forced to move mom out in two weeks, losing a lot of money.

"Critical Review of Brookdale and Sterling House Facilities"

Brookdale is unmistakably a profit-driven business. They're always understaffed and the good employees are frequently dismissed. Those left to work have to deal with two times the typical workload. Shortcuts are clearly taken. Sterling House seems to focus more on individuals with memory problems, neglecting those with different disabilities. Sterling House makes an effort, but corporate rules limit what is possible. It's also expensive, like the rest, and services that are meant to be included often aren't. The CEO should think about having a family member stay in their facilities, it might change their perspective.

"Old but nice assisted living; not as fancy as Sunrise."

The place is old, but it's pretty nice. It doesn't have as many things as Sunrise, and it's almost as expensive.
