"Costly Care with Strict Rules, Lacking Warmth"
About a year and a half ago, we helped our close neighbor, who I look after legally, move into Central Scottsdale Assisted Living. We chose it because people said good things about it. The place is super clean, and there’s a husband and wife team that takes care of everyone. They work hard to get their tasks done on their own time, but they don’t really show a lot of kindness. They’re set in their ways and don’t change how they do things, even if it’s not what the person living there wants or can handle. Our friend gets dizzy spells where she feels like she’s falling if she moves too fast. The caregivers kept insisting she do things their way, which made her unhappy. She also didn’t have anyone to talk to or hang out with because most folks there were just napping in front of a big TV. The food was pretty plain and didn’t change much, which wasn’t what our friend liked. Also, the money part was tough. The contract said we had to pay the first and last month’s rent when she moved in, and we couldn’t get the money back if she left within a certain time. So, for two months at this place, our friend ended up paying $18,000—that’s right, eighteen thousand dollars. Make sure to read the contract really well before you sign it.

"Mixed Feelings on Central Scottsdale Assisted Living"
I visited Central Scottsdale Assisted Living and the guide was friendly and helpful. They answered all our questions and shared good information about the place. The building looked nice, but I didn't like that they didn't have clear pricing. The price listed online was different from what they told me in person, which surprised me. Overall, it was okay, but not exactly what we wanted.
