Elmcroft of River Centre

"Headline: "Don't Trust This Facility, They're Not Telling the Truth""
This place is a disaster. They said they had to shut everything down because of the flu. But it's not true. There's a lot of sneaky stuff going on, with everyone from the head doctor to the boss to the person in charge of food being switched out. Don't even think about going close to this place.... I'm trying to move my mom out of there, but I just can't go inside. It doesn't feel safe. Don't trust what they tell you - they're hiding something.

"Great tour but chose a place with Medicare and direct care"
I visited Inspirations of River Centre and had a great experience. We decided on a different place because they offer direct care and accept Medicare. This way, if our loved one’s money runs out later, they won’t need to move somewhere else.

"Lackluster Communication and Care Leads to COVID Outbreak"
The boss didn’t talk much or keep in touch with families. They changed staff a lot, so the care, activities, and everything else were bad. One of our family members caught COVID there, so we had to take them out.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The staff members are really nice, but the cost is way too high. Our loved one has a tiny room in the community. The food isn’t good, and they don’t consider diabetics. Care quality is okay, but sometimes staff make mistakes. They offer lots of activities for residents.

"Good Care at Elmcroft, Room for Improvement"
Elmcroft is pretty good overall. My mom lives there and she likes it, but she thinks they could make some things better. She’s told them her ideas about changing up the activities they do, but nothing’s been done yet. She wishes they had a driver more often, like 5 days a week instead of just 2. Right now, they only drive residents to doctor’s appointments and don’t take them out for other fun stuff. Also, my mom has diabetes and she says there should be more meal choices for people like her. But besides those things, Elmcroft does a great job. They’re really professional and always let me know how my mom’s doing.

"Caring Assisted Living for Mom’s Last Stage"
My mom joined Elmcroft when she turned 98. She used to live alone until she fell. Now, at 101, she’s happy here. We visit from Tucson, and she loves the company. The staff is caring and keeps us informed. We’re grateful for Elmcroft.

""Unsatisfactory Assisted Living: Subpar Staff, Activities, and Housekeeping.""
This place is a real bummer. Some of the staff aren't friendly at all, which makes it hard to feel at home. The food is okay and the rooms aren't bad, but they don't clean them well enough. They have a salon, but it's hardly ever open. They also make residents and their guests check in and out. There isn't much to do here - there's a quick game of Bingo twice a week, sometimes a short bus ride around the local area, or a trip to Dairy Queen or Amy's Donuts. They have a chit-chat by the fireside, hand massages, and something called 'resident choice', but usually there's nothing going on. They do an alright job with giving out medications, but I've had to hunt them down more than once. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this place.

"Wouldn't Recommend This Care Facility"
Some workers aren't very friendly. A couple of sour workers can ruin it for everyone. The food's okay and the rooms are okay too, but they're not cleaned well. There's a hair salon but it hardly ever opens. They make residents and visitors sign in and out. There aren't many fun things to do. They have a short Bingo game two times a week, bus rides to nearby places like Dairy Queen or Amy's Donuts, conversations by the fireplace, hand massages, and sometimes games. When residents get to choose what to do, they usually choose nothing. They're alright at giving out medications but sometimes I have to go find them. All in all, I wouldn't recommend it.

"Terrible Experience at Assisted Living Facility due to Negligence"
Terribly disappointing. Medicine mishandled, causing dangerous ER visits. No prompt updates about changes in health or accidents until after a hospital visit was required. Really bad at getting in touch with family members, doctors - you have to constantly push them to respond or provide updates. Meetings with the family seem like nothing but a sham to make you believe things will get better. There's a high rate of staff quitting or being let go. They need more skilled individuals across the board. The food is absolutely disgusting, lacks any flavor or nutritional value, and is sometimes completely unpalatable. The complaints raised by the residents on a daily basis are constantly disregarded. So much food unnecessarily goes to waste because of this. There isn't a good amount of fresh fruits and vegetables available. To say this experience was dissatisfying would be an understatement. I wouldn't dare to recommend this place to anyone I care about. Sadly, it's too late for me to do anything about that now.

"Unsatisfactory Care Facility Flunks in Communication and Food Quality."
Really terrible place. Wrong handling of medicines led to dangerous hospital visits. They didn't tell us about changes in health or slips until it was too late. Their way of communicating is awful. We have to push them to call back or connect with our loved one's physicians. Family meetings are just there to make you feel like they'll improve things. Lots of staff leaving. They need better-trained people at every part of the operation. The food is really bad, has no nutrition, and sometimes can't be eaten at all. Complaints from folks living there are ignored every day. There's lots of food waste. They don't serve enough fresh fruits and vegetables. Overall, a hugely disappointing experience. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone I care about. Unfortunately, it's too late to change anything now.

"Satisfied with Care and Cleanliness"
We didn’t stay long because my family member passed away soon after we got there. But the place was really clean, and we never worried about the care they were getting. I think they took good care of us.

"They Did a Good Job"
We didn't stay here for long, and unfortunately, my loved one passed away soon after we moved in. The place seemed very clean during our time there, and we never worried about the quality of care. Overall, I believe they did a good job
