"Assisted Living Facility: Small Rooms, Limited Bathrooms, Minimal Attention"
This place is run by a family and takes care of men who need some help. The bedrooms are tiny, and there are only two bathrooms for everyone to use. If your family member stays here, you'll have to take them to the doctor yourself most of the time, or they won't get there enough. The family who owns the place goes out of town a lot during the year, leaving other family members to watch over the three men who live there. It's not easy to get around with a walker or wheelchair, and there are two dogs living there. When you visit, there's not much privacy, and you don't hear much about how your loved one is doing.

"Not as good as other options in similar price ranges."
This family-run home helps men who need assistance. The bedrooms are tiny, and there are only 2 bathrooms for everyone. If a man's family doesn't take him to doctor appointments, he might miss over half of them. The family often leaves the state for long periods, and other relatives come to sit with the 3 men who live there. Unfortunately, it's not easy for people who use walkers or wheelchairs, and there are 2 dogs on the property. When you visit your loved one, it's never private, and you don't get much information about them.

"Not Ideal for My Step Dad, But Others Seem Happy"
This place is run by a younger family in a small home, and it wasn't right for my step dad. There are four beds—two in a small bedroom and two in what seemed like a closed-off garage, so there was no privacy. The men living there didn't need walkers, and the home wouldn't work for someone with a walker or wheelchair. The caretaker said some of the men have lived there for years, so they must be happy. She even takes them out to ball games and other activities. There are three young kids, aged about 5 to 12, running around the house. They're well-behaved, but it still wasn't the best choice for my step dad.

"Small community, not right for us."
It's run by a younger family in a smaller home, which wasn't right for my stepdad. There were four beds—two in a small bedroom and two in a closed-off garage, offering no privacy. The residents didn't use walkers, and the home wasn't suitable for walkers or wheelchairs. The caretaker mentioned some residents had been there for years and seemed happy, with outings to ball games and activities. There were three well-mannered kids, ages 5 to 12, running around. It just wasn't the right choice for my stepdad.
