"Expensive Memory Care Falls Short"
This review focuses on costs because it's hard to find out how much facilities charge. Memory care for a private room costs $per month based on the info they gave me. Considering the price, it should have five-star reviews. But it's not suitable for the average resident.

"High Praise for Granite Gate Assisted Living Facility"
We really liked how everything looked at Granite Gate. The outside is pretty with nice gardens, and inside, the lobby feels just like a fancy hotel. The rooms are cheerful and make you feel welcome. Right when you walk in, there's a big lounge area, and a small bar with coffee and fresh fruit water. The rooms are set up well, especially the bathrooms, which are spacious enough to move around with a walker or wheelchair. Each room even has a little balcony looking out onto the gardens. My dad's studio has a partial wall that separates his bed from the rest of the space, and it's a good size and layout for him. Dad hasn't needed extra help yet, so I can't say much about that. But he's been getting physical therapy (PT) and occupational therapy (OT), and he seems to like the therapists a lot. The staff are friendly, and whenever Dad needs something fixed in his room, maintenance is quick to help out. Overall, I think Granite Gate is really nice. Dad's been there for two months now, and I'm impressed with how things are going.

"Excellent Assisted Living Experience"
This has been a wonderful experience for our family and my loved one. The staff is really nice and friendly to the residents and our family. They are always there when we need them to answer questions, or when our loved one needs something.

"Best Place for Mom"
Granite Gate is in a great part of Prescott, and it shows! The grounds are beautiful and well-kept. From the moment I walked in, I felt something special. My husband and I were welcomed, and we were amazed by her experience and what she brings to Granite Gate. The Memory Care unit is sunny and very inviting. I knew this was a place my mom would love. We toured the available apartments and the community room; everything was spotless and well-maintained. My great experience with Granite Gate made me put down a deposit. I know this place will take good care of my mom and make her very comfortable and happy.

"We Love This Great Assisted Living Facility!"
The sales team was fantastic. The nursing staff is really caring, the food tastes good, and the apartments are really nice. The residents look happy, and everything is kept clean and smelling good. There’s lots to do, and the surroundings are beautiful. Our loved ones are settling in and doing well.

"Decent Facility, Yet Needs Improvement in Care and Medication"
The facility seems okay. The standard assisted living section is doing well, it's really nice. Recently, they relocated her to the 'bridge to rediscovery' part of the facility. The meals they serve here are good, but I am a bit worried the level of care isn't quite sufficient. I've noticed that it sometimes goes over an hour before they respond to a request for help. I also suspect that they might have skipped some important treatments which have led to health issues. Additionally, I worry about the possibility of them giving too much medication. It's starting to look like they might not be capable of providing the level of care that's needed here. They're not bad at what they do, but it feels like they could use some more training and make improvements.

"Nice Community with Friendly Staff"
So far, it has been good. It took a while for my mom to adjust. This is a very nice community. I rated everything 5 stars except for the activities because if it's a dementia patient, they can't go outside without supervision. This was important for my mom because she loves being outside in the sunshine. Other than that, this is a good community. It is very clean, and the staff is so friendly.

"Great support and communication during the move-in process!"
They've done a fantastic job at Granite Gate, and we’re very happy with everything! Everyone has been really supportive and helpful during the move-in. I also appreciate how quickly they respond to my questions since I live out of state.

"Oddly Shaped Room Layouts in Resort-Like Retirement Facility"
We checked out this place while touring for retirement options. It wasn't originally made for retirees but more like a fancy resort. The rooms had a weird setup - some were narrow while others were wide.

The facility is beautiful and has many great amenities. They didn't have any studios available when I visited. The multiple floors made me a little concerned, but I would recommend it to anyone. The staff is great and really cares about the residents.

Avoid this place. Don't be fooled by their marketing talks - the services don't match their promises. It was nowhere near what I wanted for my family member. We didn't stay long before we left.

"I Can't Think of Anything That Could Be Improved at This Point"
They have a point system, so it's a good value. The maintenance staff will hang pictures for free and help with adjustments. They provide a lot of little extras, like crafts, exercise classes, and bingo. I can't think of anything that could be improved. We didn't know about some supplies, but there's always a learning curve. They were very welcoming. The food is wonderful with a restaurant-style menu and daily specials. They also have a salad bar and a dietician with sugar-free options for diabetics.

I discovered their perspective on Assisted Living and realized they aren't authorized to provide assistance. However, I sought a community for my father-in-law's final days. Unfortunately, they weren't the best fit for long-term care. No major issues; just not the right match.

"Caring and attentive staff at Granite Gate"
The staff at Granite Gate have been both sensitive and proactive to my mother's needs. Recently, my mother was confused and upset while trying to find an insurance card for a flu shot. I called the front desk, and the activities director, Anne-Marie, asked for my mother's room number. She went directly to my mother and let her be first in line for the vaccine due to her multiple trips. The evening caregiver, Jeff, has made an outstanding effort to surprise my mother with different juices to help her take her evening medications. He has also taken the extra time to monitor my mother's swollen ankles and note the findings in her file.

I reached out to many assisted living places in Prescott for my mom in October. The staff at Granite Gate was the most helpful and responsive. Although my dad isn’t ready to decide yet, the staff checks in with me regularly to see how they’re doing. One staff member, Sharon, even lives in the same neighborhood as my mom and dad and has dropped by to bring them dinner! The resident nurse, Mary Ellen, has assessed my mom to figure out what level of care she’ll need when we move her. We’ve looked at several apartment models and learned a lot about the activities and services. We’ve visited five times, and the place is always clean and beautiful. The residents look happy and active, and the staff is welcoming and friendly. I can’t imagine a better place for my mom.
