"Improvements Needed at Madera Assisted Living"
At Madera, some people smoke too close to my mom's room. Smokers should stay 25 feet away, not right outside. This issue has been talked about, but no action has been taken. We never get fresh fruit, and some meals come cold instead of hot. It takes up to a week to get our dirty laundry back.

"Warm, caring staff, great food, and a clean, safe home."
Madera Assisted Living Home has been a warm and caring place for my mother’s transition to a group home. I know my loved one is safe, and the staff interacts positively with all the residents. The food is great, and the home is always clean. I feel blessed to have found Madera and know my mom is in good hands day and night.

"Urgent Alert: Poor Care at Assisted Living Facility"
The level of care here leaves a lot to be desired. They can't seem to handle patients who need more than just seat time; those who require more attention and care. The staff doesn't seem professional; they're often just hanging out in the back room using their phones or chatting. When these issues were brought to the owner’s attention, she dismissed it, claiming they were top-notch caregivers. They failed to adequately care for a bedridden patient, messing up medication distribution. Consequently, the poor patient was rushed to the hospital. Consider the risk before entrusting your loved one to their care. I’d honestly advise against recommending this place to anyone.

"Avoid! Facility Neglects Medicine and Ignores Patients' Needs"
I would never suggest this place to anyone, not even someone I really don't like. Our mom had to stay here when she left the hospital, and our stepdad went into the hospital around the same time. In the beginning, it seemed like the workers really cared, but we found out they weren't giving her the important medicine she needed. A lot of the time, the workers were just goofing off on their phones in the kitchen, acting like they didn't have time to care for her. Their bad job managing her medicine landed her in the hospital again, and several times she was left in a really uncomfortable and dirty situation at the end of her bed. I also think hospice wasn't happy with how they took care of our mom. Be wary of this place, they only seem to want patients who can't complain or need a lot of care. Please don't let anyone you care about go here.

"Avoid This Facility: Neglectful Staff and Poor Patient Care"
I'd steer clear from this place even for my worst enemy. We had no choice but to place our mom here when she was discharged from the hospital and our stepdad was admitted at the same time. The staff appeared kind and caring, but we soon realized they weren't giving her her critical meds. More often than not, we'd find staff engrossed in their phones in the kitchen, acting too busy to care. Our mom ended up back in the hospital because they botched her medication management and we'd frequently find her uncomfortably slouched at the end of her bed in unclean briefs. I think the hospice reported them due to the poor care they gave to our mom. Watch out for this place - they seem to only want patients who can't express themselves or need round-the-clock care. Definitely don't let anyone you care about go here.

"Affordable Assisted Living with Friendly Staff and Inclusive Amenities"
She was nice and ready to answer questions. The house is located near 60 and Stapley Cooper. The price they told us was $1800 per month, which includes everything. She said she could assist mom with her diabetic diet. They play bingo every other day, not for money but for prizes like household items. The room is shared and has a large bathroom and closet, and it comes with some furniture already.

"Dissatisfaction with Assisted Living Facility Due to Poor Care"
When our family initially visited the assisted living facility, they put on quite the presentation, even playing the organ. It felt too perfect to be real. Unfortunately, we had to remove our loved one from their care. She started developing unexplained bruises and would frequently lock herself in her room for safety. We took her to the emergency room where the staff observed the bruises. With an Alzheimers patient, it's hard to substantiate claims of mishandling. Their daily meal, for both lunch and dinner, was a mere soup and sandwich, whereas they had promised delightful menus during our visit. Every time we arrived, it was always soup being prepared. Also, we suspect she was not receiving her medication, yet the staff never communicated this to us.

"Facility Failures: Bruises, Bad Food, and Missing Medication!"
When we first arrived, they put on a wonderful show, bringing out the organ and everything. But it all seemed too good to be true. We ended up having to remove our family member. She was getting mysterious bruises and repeatedly locking herself in her room. The emergency room noticed the bruises, but with someone who has Alzheimer's, you can't prove anything. Lunch and dinner were always just a soup and sandwich, despite the wonderful menus they had shown us. Plus, I don't think they were giving her the right medication or keeping us informed.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short of Expectations"
This place wasn't what we thought. They said they could help our family member, but they couldn't. At first, they said they'd serve the menu food, but it turned out they only had soup and sandwiches every night. The staff seemed nice, and residents seemed happy initially, but later we saw it wasn't true. Sadly, it didn't work for us.

"Expectations Unmet at Assisted Living Facility"
We thought this place would meet all our needs, but we ended up being wrong. They told us they could care for our family member just fine, but then we found out they couldn't. At first, they promised that the food on the menu is what would be served, but then we learned that all they were giving the residents was soup and sandwiches for dinner every night. When we first visited, everyone seemed so kind and the residents seemed content, but that turned out to not be true. Sadly, this place just wasn't right for our family.
