"Poor Elderly Care at [name removed]: Disoriented, Neglected, and Overmedicated"
My parents used to live at [name removed]. We had to transfer them both because there were no activities there. All the residents did was sit in their chairs the whole day. Soon after my father moved, I cut down his medications from 17 to only 8 in just a week. They even had an Alzheimer's patient locked in her room. The staff, while they do care, are just babysitters. They lack the proper training to handle dementia or Alzheimer's patients. All they do is sit them down in chairs after giving them drugs. But now, since we moved my father, he's healthier, he's walking around and he's not wheelchair-bound anymore. Both of my parents are happier and in much better health. I urge you not to send your loved ones to this facility.

"Neglect and Poor Care At Assisted Living Facility"
If you care about your older relatives, particularly if they can't communicate well, do not send them to this assisted living facility. We had to get paramedics to extract our 90 plus year old, non-speaking relative from this place. The paramedics found out that she hadn't been bathed properly, had infected wounds, and was extremely dehydrated. All of this was later confirmed by the hospital. Moreover, the facility staff advised us not to call the paramedics, saying all they would do is check her vital signs and send her back home. She spent various nights in the hospital recovering. Needless to say, she won't be going back, and I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone. I wish there was a way to give them less than zero stars.

"Pleasant Living Assisted Living Facility Review"
Let me start with what's good. Pleasant Living is super clean and the staff take good care of my mom. They handle nine folks, many using adult diapers and with trouble moving around. Even though my mom can eat on her own, I've seen the staff helping others eat. But I've never worried about them not taking care of her properly. Some folks have been there a long time, and some are on hospice. They're good at giving high-level care. When my mom got bedsores, they got her a memory foam topper, though we got an air one instead. Still, it was nice of them. Plus, it's more affordable here. But they only handle basic stuff. No bingo or fun activities, just TV. Sometimes locals bring in a violin or therapy dogs visit, but it's not regular. Only one staff member is usually around for all nine residents. There's someone helping with meals, but not with washing or lifting. They often say they're understaffed, which is frustrating. Also, some caregivers speak English as a second language, which can lead to misunderstandings. I really like some of the caregivers; they work hard and care about the residents. But I'm not sure about the others. I think one night worker might nap instead of doing their job. The care can be hit or miss. The owners seem to care but aren't very organized. They have three homes but aren't always around. They try to know my mom and help out. When my mom had surgery, they said they'd visit but never did. Communication between staff and owners is lacking. I had to tell each staff member about her surgery individually. But since I put up a calendar, things have been smoother. The food is okay, nothing special. It's similar to other places in Mesa. It's pretty basic, like spaghetti or PB&J with Cheetos. I sometimes bring my mom protein shakes and salads for variety. The cost seems high, but it's actually lower than other places. My mom has a master bedroom with a private bathroom, so it's a bit more expensive. There are different room options, and the prices vary. But the price is negotiable. Overall, there are some good things here, but we're considering other options. My mom is still active, and the lack of activities is a problem for us. But it might not be for others.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living"
This home was nice and well-organized for ten patients. However, most residents were women, and my Dad didn't quite fit in. They seemed to need more nursing care than a homey atmosphere. If that's what you're seeking, it could be a good fit. The caregiver who gave me a tour was friendly.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Suitable for Nursing Home Care Seekers"
This house was nice and set up well for 10 patients. However, most residents were women, and my Dad didn't feel like he fit in. They seemed like they needed more care like in a nursing home rather than in a home. If that's what you're looking for, this might be a good fit. The caregiver who gave me a tour was very nice.

"Lacking Engagement and Communication"
On the tour, the director promised many fun activities, but after my loved one moved in, there haven't been any. The staff isn't as helpful as I expected, and even though they have a doctor on-site, they haven't responded to my inquiries.
