"Needs Improvement in Care and Meal Services"
My mom didn't see the caregivers much unless she called them. One day, she felt sick and used her necklace button, then someone came. The food was okay, but she often said it was never really hot, just warm. Her tablemates often complained about the menu, and once they even ran out of eggs. They usually had to wait about 45 minutes after getting their plates to start eating. Overall, it wasn't worth the cost, so I took her out 9 days early.

"Home-Like Atmosphere and Tasty Soup Shine at Assisted Living"
This place feels really welcoming and homey. The way it's built makes it cozy like a home. They're doing pretty well with activities and try to make everyone happy. The soup they serve is good, but sometimes the cooks should taste it to make it even better. It's not easy to make everyone happy, but they're managing to do it. I particularly like the soup made by [name removed]; you can tell when someone else makes it because it's not the same.

"Disappointing Assisted Living Experience Raises Concerns"
My relative likes it there. Her place stays clean. They're decent but not perfect. However, some promises weren't kept, like the increased care cost during illness. COVID restrictions prevent family dining together, despite prior assurance. Sadly, her wedding rings vanished without resolution. Overall, not worth the expense.

"A Great Choice for Our Mother’s New Home"
After checking out four senior living places, we picked Sunrise of Gilbert for our mom. She was involved in the choice and has been really happy in her apartment since moving in. The staff is super friendly and always ready to help. There are lots of activities, and the staff listens to what the residents want. The food is tasty, and our mom enjoys dining with others. Her apartment is cozy, and the weekly cleaning and laundry service are very helpful. She also loves the reasonably priced beauty salon on-site. We’re impressed with how well they keep the whole place up. This was a tough change for our mom. She felt sad about selling her home, but the friendly people and the community at Sunrise have helped her make new friends. There’s nothing I would change about her experience. She’s happy, and we are too. We feel great about our frequent visits!

"Nice Staff but Limited Care and Cramped Spaces at Sunrise"
I visited Sunrise as a potential home for both my loved one and me. The people there were really nice and supportive, but the place felt dull and cramped to me. I wasn't pleased with the limited care services offered. I was hoping for a place where my loved one and I could remain even as their care needs might grow, but that isn't possible here.

"Clean but hospital-like assisted living with small rooms"
The place seemed nice, but felt more like a hospital than a home for seniors. People were friendly, staff and residents talked and asked about each other's day. It was a bit pricey for me though, and the rooms were smaller than elsewhere I visited. But everything was super clean.

"Room Layout Didn't Suit Wheelchair Users"
We checked out this place, and it seemed nice. It was really clean and looked after, but my mother-in-law wasn't a fan of how the rooms were set up. Both my in-laws use wheelchairs, and she struggled to move around in the rooms because they felt too cramped.

"Comfortable Living with Great Food and Helpful Staff"
Mom really enjoys living here. She has a cozy apartment that she feels good in. The food is delicious. However, she's had to tweak her eating times because they serve meals earlier than she's used to. Yet, the staff is fantastic. They're ready to bring her food to her room if she misses mealtime. The community looks great and is well kept.

"Clean Space, Could Use More Nurses And Care"
I recently visited this place for my family member and it was mostly good. The building was clean and they had many awesome things for the residents. I wish they had nurses in the assisted living area like in the memory care area. I also listened in on a talk between a patient and a worker and felt it could have been better. The worker was nice to the resident, but I feel they could do more for their needs.

"My favorite place for seniors!"
This place is my favorite! The Victorian-style outside and wrap-around porch made it feel more like a home than a "senior home." Even though there were no open apartments, a friendly resident happily showed me around. It was nice to see how much furniture could fit comfortably. The activities, both on-site and off-site, were fantastic and located in historic downtown Gilbert, just 15 minutes from my house. It was perfect! My tour guide was super sweet!

"Privacy concerns but friendly staff and well-kept facilities"
The assisted living place doesn't have personal exits for each apartment. You gotta leave through the main entrance if you want some fresh air, and I don't really dig that. I like my privacy and don't want everyone knowing when I come and go. On the plus side, the staff were nice and answered all my questions during my visit. The place itself looked like they kept it in very good shape, both indoors and outdoors.

"Excellent Care and Service at Sunrise Living Center"
We found Sunrise Living Center through SeniorAdvisor.com when my elderly mother needed to leave her nursing home. They helped us set up interviews at several places, and we chose Sunrise. The staff went out of their way to show us around and help with the paperwork. They even arranged for her to move in quickly over a weekend, setting her up in a lovely room. The facility is clean and decorated to feel like home. The caregivers on the memory care floor are amazing—kind, patient, and attentive to mom's special needs. They include us in her care plan and clearly care deeply about the residents.

"Mixed experience at Sunrise Gilbert for respite care"
My mom stayed at Sunrise Gilbert for two weeks for respite care. Overall, it went pretty well. My brother visited her daily and didn't notice any major issues. However, when I went to check her out, there were some problems. The staff didn't follow up on promised information about her care, and seemed more interested in permanent residency. When I arrived to pick her up, they seemed unprepared and didn't assist with moving her belongings. Some of her clothes were missing, and nobody seemed concerned about it. While the care was decent, she spent too much time in her wheelchair without breaks, leading to swollen feet. I believe they need more caregivers to properly attend to residents' needs and shouldn't overload them with tasks like serving meals. Overall, her stay was okay, but improvements are needed.

"A Challenging Dining Experience"
They keep the place really clean. The care is pretty good most of the time. But they have a lot of staff turnover—I see new faces every couple of months. My 90-year-old mother struggles to remember names, and it's tough when they keep changing. The biggest problem, though, is the food. It's terrible. All the residents complain, but nothing changes. My mom has been there for 15 months, and that's her main complaint.

I can't really verify what she's telling me because I live in Connecticut and she's all the way in Arizona. "Good Caregivers, Poor Administration at Assisted Living Facility"
We moved my parents into this place at the start of the year. The assistants who directly care for my parents are really good. The folks in the office, though? Not nearly as helpful. They make a bunch of promises to get you to move in and then basically disappear. The meals are tasty, but the servings are far too small. With the amount of money we're paying, I really thought the office guys would at least give us some solid support. We're considering relocating my parents, despite the fact that they have dementia and a move might set them back. We're giving things until the end of summer. If they don't improve, we're going to do some serious looking and transfer them somewhere else if we need to. Also, when I mention "fair" friendliness, I'm talking about the office staff, not the helpers who actually look after my parents. It's about time someone in the office responded to my emails quickly instead of forcing me to call.

"Great Independent Living, Needs More Meal Flexibility"
My mother-in-law lives independently here, so she doesn’t need extra care, but everything is still good. If she needs help, she gets it. She enjoys playing bingo, sit-down Zumba, and Wii games. My only suggestion is to offer more meal options and flexibility. Right now, you have to eat at specific times, and on Sundays, if you miss brunch, you only get sandwiches and similar items.
