"Mom Thriving at Clean, Friendly Assisted Living with Activities"

Mom likes it at the assisted living place. She has made friends and is doing great! The place is super clean, the staff are nice, and they have lots of things for the residents to do.

"Mixed Feelings: The Groves Tour Experience"

I went to The Groves by Senior Lifestyle for a tour. The tour was nice. But we decided on another place. Why? When I looked around, I saw many people at different stages of needing help. It made me worried. It seemed like there weren't enough staff to assist everyone. They were all gathered in one big group, and I couldn't tell if there were enough staff members to help them all.

"Residents Content, Homey Feel Lacking"

"The community was okay, but it didn't feel like home. The residents seemed happy.

"Beautiful Facility, But Memory Care Feels Like Hospital"

I visited this place and the guide was okay. The building was nice, but the memory care area felt too much like a hospital.

This community was pleasant.

"Mixed Opinions about Well-Maintained but Problematic Care Facility"

The place itself is nice and tidy. There are plenty of activities for those interested. The food is tasty, has a lot of variety, and they serve it for 12 hours a day, which is really nice. This might be a good choice for independent living, but it might be difficult if you need more help. The nursing director chooses how much care you need and it's hard to understand their reasons - one day it costs $400, the next day over $1200. The aides are kind but always seem rushed because there's never enough staff. The nurses handling medicines can be rude and disrespectful. Setting a meeting to discuss my family member's care is challenging, which makes addressing concerns difficult. If I could do it all over I might pick a different place, but moving can be tough on older people so we're making do for the moment.

"Gross Neglect at The Groves"

My relative only stayed at this place for three days. They promised to take proper care of him when we first met, but they didn't. My relative needs help to get out of bed, but he's not heavy. Still, The Groves' staff couldn't assist him. They simply told him to stay in bed. They didn't aid him to stand, change him, or even reposition him. I managed to remove him from The Groves, but by then, he had bedsores, injuries, and he felt embarrassed. After all we've been through, there's no way I can suggest this place to others.

"Many Different Levels of Care Available Here"

My mom is here now, and she loves their “anytime dining” policy. They have some foods available every day and plenty of other options to choose from. The staff is friendly and nice, and we haven’t had any problems. There are lots of activities like bingo and church services on Sundays, and events for the holidays. They have a lot for residents to do to stay active and socialize. The facility is very clean, and housekeeping comes by once a week. When I saw the facility, the staff, and the cleanliness, I knew it was the best. I couldn’t have found a better place.

"Great care and support for my wife and me"

My wife and I have been living here for a couple of months, and so far, everything has been pretty good. I'm really impressed with the staff—they're doing a fantastic job and are always very helpful. The food in the dining room is nice, but in the memory care area, it gets a bit repetitive, and there aren’t a lot of choices. However, there’s plenty to eat, and it's nutritious and tasty. It just feels like breakfast is the same every day, but that’s okay. The place is kept clean, although no one has come to clean my apartment yet, probably because I can still handle it myself. They do make my wife’s bed and help her get dressed, which is great. We haven't had any problems with the staff or other residents. My wife sometimes struggles to eat, but the staff is always there to help her out. I’ve already recommended this place to others!

"Persistent Staff Issues Overshadow Assisted Living Facility's Pros"

Experiencing Mixed Feelings with Assisted Living Facility Services" My cousin moved into this place in June's middle, and I initially had a good feeling about it. However, things haven't been the best since then. Miscommunication has been a real issue, forcing us to hire a private caregiver to drop in once in a while to ensure the staff does what they should. There appears to be a shortage of staff, and something recently makes me suspect there’s a high staff turnover. The facility lost my cousin’s burial instructions. It seems like the office could be more efficient. My cousin is in the memory care section, and I worry they aren't being upfront with us about her care details. On a brighter note, they do keep the place tidy, which I appreciate. Also, the proximity to my cousin's son’s house is a plus, as he can visit her any time.

"Settling In"

My father-in-law lives in this community and really enjoys it. I've asked the caregivers to call me first before assisting him, and they're addressing that. They clean and do his laundry. The food is good, with a choice of meals. The staff is kind and caring. Once he makes more friends, he'll join activities. The courtyard with 4 fireplaces is lovely. I'd recommend it to friends and family.

"Perfect Place for My Loved One's Care and Comfort"

This place seems perfect for him. They serve three meals a day anytime between 7 AM and 7 PM. It’s close, clean, and bright. The residents look happy, and the staff really interacts with them.

"The Groves: Clean and Friendly, But Not for Everyone"

My experience with The Groves, A Merrill Gardens Community, wasn't ideal for my loved one. This place might be perfect for someone who is very independent and doesn't need much care. It's unquestionably clean, and the staff members are all really nice. The only issue is there's a lot of noise and activity here that could be chaotic for others. Once in a while, you can see some of the residents taking a nap in the lobby area. Plus, you'll have to get your prescriptions filled through their own pharmacy. My doctor had a hard time securing my loved one's needed medication for proper usage. It was also important for me to keep track of my loved one's medicine and food consumption. Sadly, this place didn't suit our needs.

"Visiting Dentist is a Great Convenience"

Everything is going well, but I do have some worries. It seems like there aren't enough workers, although I did see some new faces recently. The meals are wonderful for my mom. We had a walker delivered, but now we can't find it. I really appreciate the visiting dentist. He checked my mom and did some x-rays, which was great because I didn't have to take time off work.

"My Father's Well-Cared-For Home"

I appreciate the care provided at this community. The staff is attentive to my father's needs, and the environment is clean and pleasant. I'm glad he enjoys the health meals offered. They also encourage him to participate in activities. We recommend this community to other families.

"Mom Is Thriving"

My mom is in good hands at this community. She's doing great and has adjusted well. They keep her room and the community very clean. The staff is nice, helpful, and attentive. There are activities if she wants to participate. I feel comfortable with the care they provide. I recommend it.

"Great Care and Improvements at This New Facility"

We've had a really positive experience at this community. It's a new facility, so they're still working out a few things, but they're doing their best. The new manager is making some excellent changes to the place. The staff is amazing; they're quick to respond to any concerns and really stay on top of things. There are fantastic activities available, and the meals are top-notch with great food quality thanks to an excellent chef. Everything is going really well.

"Stunning Facility, Dreadful Staffing and Negligence"

Despite the facility's gorgeous setting, there's a concerning lack of staff, especially waitstaff and medical technicians. Even more alarming, I heard a tale about an elderly gentleman who slipped on a damp floor and had to lay on the ground for an entire four hours before anyone even realized he'd fallen or came to help him.

"Warm, caring staff and smooth transition"

My mom has been at The Groves for a little over a month, and we couldn't be happier! The staff is warm, caring, and really understands what the residents need. Her transition has been so much easier than I ever thought it would be! I would highly recommend The Groves for anyone looking for care for their loved one.

"A Beautiful Place with Caring Staff for My Parents"

When I started looking for an assisted living home for my elderly parents, I had no idea it would take so much time. I signed up for a website to help narrow down my options in the area. I knew my mom was struggling to care for my dad, who has vascular dementia. I toured several assisted living facilities before visiting The Groves. I was really impressed by how beautiful The Groves was, both inside and outside. The apartments were very spacious, and the staff was friendly and helpful, answering all my questions. They also have a Memory Care unit, which was great. It gave me peace of mind knowing that as my dad's condition gets worse, they wouldn't have to move to a different place for memory care. I can't say enough good things about the caring staff, from housekeeping to the general manager.

"Highly recommend The Groves"

This is a brand-new facility that’s been open for less than three months. We moved my mother-in-law in two weeks ago. The staff at The Groves has been really helpful and supportive as she gets used to her new home. We’re grateful this community is here for her, and when she needs memory care, we only have to move her to the other side of the building. The cost is about what you'd expect for the services, amenities, and care they provide.

"Beautiful and supportive facility close to home"

It's a beautiful facility, very elegant and full of beauty, which is exactly what my husband needed. The staff is incredibly supportive and helpful. They had just opened when I moved my husband in, and it's only 5 minutes from my house. I'm really happy with everything. I gave the care services and activities 4 stars because they are still getting settled since they just opened. Overall, I give this place 5 stars.
