"Comfortable Living at The Peaks Assisted Living"
Living at The Peaks is great. We have really nice caregivers. The dining room servers are amazing. The Peaks Lodge is beautiful with nice views and surrounded by forests. The food menus sometimes make it hard to eat healthy, but they have great salads. The Lodge sometimes has problems with heating, cooling, and maintenance, but they're fixing them. Life enrichment offers a good variety of activities. The spiritual director is a blessing to everyone here.

"Shoddy Alzheimer’s Care at The Peaks Retirement Home Exposed"
The Peaks Retirement Home - Not As Advertised, Avoid for Dementia Patients". The Peaks is advertised as a great place for loved ones suffering from Alzheimer's. All I can say is don't believe it. DON'T BRING YOUR FAMILY MEMBER HERE, ESPECIALLY IF THEY HAVE DEMENTIA!! We were charmed when a Peaks representative visited [name removed]'s previous care facility and gave us a good impression. We were excited to move him in. Fast forward two months, we were told to remove him without a real reason. We were told a husband of another resident said he saw mishandling another resident. Their story doesn't match up and it's very confusing. On the day this supposed incident happened, the emergency services got involved. We found out that [name removed], an 83-year-old Alzheimer’s patient, supposedly scared four firefighters. This was according to a caregiver who didn't understand that giving him space was the professional approach. He was forced to go to the ER, returned more dazed and confused than before. We were told that he needed to leave, decision made by a doctor who he has never met. We heard that other residents and their families were afraid of [name removed] – a possible breach of patient confidentiality? This contradicts our encounters with other residents and their families. We couldn't move [name removed] right away, so his 83-year-old wife had to commute from a two hours distance to stay with him during the day because of Peaks’ understaffing. She had to sleep in his room on a cot – a definite danger and liability? By the moving day, all the staff that would've seen the incident were nowhere to be found. It's a relief to leave this place. All that beautiful decor can't hide their lack of necessary skills and care. It seems like they focus on dazzling the families, not caring for the patients. And don't forget to ask about extra charges. That's another mess. Lastly, you have to provide your own toilet paper. How classy!

"Decline at The Peaks: From Premier to Disappointment"
We had six years at The Peaks with a family member there. At first, it seemed great, connected with The Museum Of Northern Arizona. The Director, a nice long-time Flagstaff resident, made it special. But she left, and things changed when [name removed] took over and The Goodman Group came in. The warmth we felt was gone, and staff turnover was high. We thought it was the best place for seniors, but as our family member's health declined, communication with the nursing staff became a struggle. We moved them to a group home recommended by the Hospice agency, thinking it was a step down, but it turned out to be a better choice. The personal attention there contrasted sharply with the decline we saw at The Peaks. We wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

"Attractive Facade Masks Poor Care and Communication"
It may look nice, but don't be tricked. The care here is lacking, there's no good communication, and the case management is really bad if you need it.

"Good Appearance Cannot Mask Bad Service"
The place might look nice, but that's misleading. The attention provided is inadequate, they don't communicate well, and their patient management is dismal.

"Waiting Game: Beautiful Place, Pricey Waitlist"
Wow, the place looks nice, but we've been waiting for two whole months for an opening. And get this: they want a non-refundable $1200 deposit just to put us on the 'waiting list,' and it doesn't even count toward the first month's rent!

"Good Looking Place, But Too Much Wait, High Deposit"
This place is gorgeous, but we've been hanging on for two months just to get a spot. Plus, they ask for a $1200 deposit that you can't get back just to get a spot on the "waiting list". And the worst part is, it doesn't even count towards the first month's rent!

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
Overall, it was okay. The person in charge, the executive director, seemed a bit confused. They kept hiring and firing staff, which caused a lot of changes, and we had requested a lower rent since it was really expensive and we had signed a long lease. They only gave me a small discount once, and the executive director wouldn't talk to me about it. As for my mom, she really enjoyed herself and seemed happy to be there, which was important for us to know how the other residents feel.

"Some issues with communication, mom loved it though."
Overall, it was pretty good. The person in charge, the executive director, seemed a bit confusing. They hired and fired staff a lot, which caused some problems. We asked for a rent discount because it was expensive, but only received a small amount. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the executive director to talk to me. On the bright side, my mom had a great time with the other residents.
