"Disappointing Experience with Communication and Understanding"
My family wanted to make sure Mom received care all day and night. But the place didn't explain clearly what "awake" care meant. Mom needed help at night, and it was a big worry. When someone moves to a new place and has trouble seeing and remembering things, they shouldn't be seen as a problem. It made me upset and worried when they suggested giving Mom medicine for anxiety after only a few days here. Next time, we'll ask more questions. People shouldn't feel like their loved one is causing trouble while they're getting care. We didn't like how things went here.

"Disappointed by Assisted Living Facility’s Inadequate Overnight Care"
Round-the-clock care": Be sure to clarify what the facility’s definition of that is. We found this crucial for our mom's care because she often woke up at night. A person moved to unfamiliar surroundings, dealing with vision and memory issues, should never be seen as a "trouble". I didn’t feel comfortable with this attitude, especially when the facility, "A Place for Mom", recommended anti-anxiety medicine as a solution. Our mom hadn't even been in this place for 3 days... In the future, my family will know the right questions to ask. Nobody on a search for care for a family member should feel like their elderly parent is a bother in a facility. We were really let down by this ordeal.
