"Caring staff; medication and food choices need improvement."

Staff caring but occasional medication and food issues need improvement.

"Inconsistent Care and Communication Woes"

My family member stays at Almond Heights Senior Living. They're not giving the care we agreed on. They wanted to increase her care level right after she moved in, even though nothing had changed. They sent her to the hospital without telling me until she was already gone, and the hospital said there was no need for her to be there. They refuse to give her anything that isn't prescribed by a doctor, like vitamins or supplements, but the med techs claim they do it often. Disorganized isn't the right word, but the head nurse and head caretaker need to get on the same page with the staff. I thought about moving my family member, but considering her age and worsening dementia, I don't think she could handle it again.

"Understaffing Affects Promised Services at Friendly Assisted Living Facility"

The staff was super nice and helpful when we got here. But ever since we moved in, they don't have enough people working, so they can't keep their promises about the services they said they'd give us.

""Almond Heights: Fresh, Welcoming Assisted Living""

We really enjoyed Almond Heights. If it were closer, we might have chosen it. The place was clean and new, and the rooms were pleasant. I especially liked the room layout, and it seemed like there were seniors of all ages living there.

"A Cozy Home for Seniors"

I've been at Almond Heights assisted living for 14 months, and it's a comfy place. The staff is caring, though sometimes there aren't enough of them (like in most places nowadays). The food is okay, with decent choices. The building looks nice and is well-maintained. As an older person living alone, it meets my needs and feels like home.

"Mixed Feelings on New Assisted Living"

I got here right when the doors opened. Not long after, a big storm wrecked my room. The meals? They’re kind of cheap and they throw in too much stuff like onions and garlic. They say it’s fancy food, but I don’t think so. Sometimes, I just can’t eat it and have to get my own. My carpet’s a mess, I need a fridge that works, the lights keep dying, and the fix-it crew is always changing. Now they want me to switch rooms so they can fix mine up, but the new room costs more. That doesn’t seem right to me.

"Poor Communication and Lack of Organization at Assisted Living Facility"

My family member moved in during the peak of the Covid crisis. They were supposed to receive specific care, but it got messed up because of everything going on. The communication between us, my relative, and the staff wasn't very good. Unfortunately, my family member passed away soon after moving in, so we didn't spend much time there. The place didn't seem very well-organized.

"Assisted Living Community Needs Improvement"

This community is just okay. I might suggest another to friends. They don't share enough info. My family felt lost at first. Staff could be more attentive. Wait times for meals are long. Staff sometimes ignore residents. Food is occasionally cold and reheated in microwave. Parking is terrible, not enough spaces for visitors and staff.

My husband and self were greeted by two associates and we were taken on a very detailed tour of the facility. The director of Memory Care was very impressive, she was very involved with making sure one of the residents at the facility was having her needs met. She explained the high standards of care for her patients and their importance. We met the chef and were offered lunch. I approved of the memory care, however, the cost of the two bedroom accommodations were a little more than what I had the budget for. I will definitely keep the sight on my list of possible areas.

"Nice community for my grandma!"

I just helped my grandma move in here, and I'm so happy she's starting to make friends again. I had lunch here the other day, and the food is really good! My grandma loves the bright dining room and the chandeliers. Everyone who works here has been really helpful. I can tell the staff cares about helping the residents when I see them help my grandma.

"Great Experience at Almond Heights - We’ll Be Back!"

My mom isn’t ready to leave her home yet, but we had a great time visiting Almond Heights! The place was lively, and we met lots of staff members. The chef even came out to say hi to my mom and me during lunch. I wish we had visited Almond Heights first instead of looking at so many other places. We will definitely come back!

"Friendly, welcoming staff with great food!"

This place is always clean, and you can tell the staff enjoys working here. Everyone greets you when you walk by! My husband and I visit often, and the front desk always welcomes us with a big smile. That really means a lot to us. My mom has been living here for about a year, and I’m so happy we found this community. We had dinner here yesterday, and the food was amazing! Big thanks to the owner and the waitstaff for always taking care of us!

"Unbearable Waiting and Lack of Professionalism"

Phoned them up to get some info and it felt like I was talking to a sleazy car salesman. I asked to be connected with marketing and had to wait on hold for what felt like forever - probably about 10 minutes. Then, a girl who couldn't have been older than 10 took over and wouldn't answer any of my questions. When I finally went over there in person, the place was dead quiet with people snoozing in the main area. I was asked to hang tough because everyone in charge was taking their lunch break. Eventually, I got tired of waiting and just left. Wouldn't dream of letting even my worst enemy live here.

"Ineffectual Leadership Puts Assisted Living Facility Quality in Doubt"

My mom's currently residing here, but we're scouting for another facility. The main issue we've encountered is the staff. The prior team seemed to care more and were more engaged. These days, the new Director barely leaves her desk, and the fresh nursing head seems ill-equipped. A staff member told me she's only been nursing for half a year. She has a habit of making excuses and constantly forgets demands. While the actual building is pretty, the overall atmosphere feels dull and uncaring. My mom attended a recent resident gathering, where even the head honcho admitted contemplating moving to a different location.

"Friendly and Clean Assisted Living Tour"

I took a tour of this place with my family. Everyone was nice to us. It was a good experience. Everything looked nice and tidy. The staff I met were kind and friendly. I found a good place for my mom. The tour of this place went well.

"FirstResidentsLoveAlmondHeights"

My husband and I moved from Syracuse, NY, and were the first residents at Almond Heights in September 2015. There are many senior living options around, but I'm so glad my daughter picked Almond Heights. I've loved it since day one and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

"Happy Founding Residents"

We’ve lived at Almond Heights for almost two years now after moving from another luxury senior community, and we’ve been really happy here. I’ve read some reviews, but they don’t match our experience. There are lots of activities to choose from, more than at our last place. My wife likes the morning exercise video, and I use the equipment and walking path. The food is homestyle, and while everyone has different tastes, most residents enjoy it. If you don’t like the special, there are other options. The best part is the staff—they really care and listen if something isn’t right.

"A Warm Welcome and Great Care"

My parents came from New Mexico for my nephew’s wedding. We didn’t realize how much help they needed until they arrived. We visited Almond Heights without calling first. We talked to the Marketing Director and the nurse in charge. They made a great care plan to help my parents move from out of state. The nurse was very patient with my parents, who were hesitant. Even the Administrator introduced herself and invited us to stay for dinner. The waiter explained the menu, and we had a wonderful family meal. The chef suggested we try different dishes, and everything was delicious. Other residents came and introduced themselves to my parents. In the end, my parents felt more comfortable and are ready to move in!

"Wonderful activities and caring staff make for a great experience"

Last weekend, I took my mother out to run errands. I ended up staying at Almond Heights and enjoying a summer music concert hosted by the activities department. It looked like everyone, including other residents and their families, was having a great time. The next day, we had a wonderful Mother’s Day breakfast. A few days later, my mom went shopping with the other residents. She used to live alone and wasn’t very social, but the staff at Almond Heights worked hard to help her connect with others and feel at home. The food has been excellent, and we eat with her there at least twice a week.

"Quality and Services Declining at Mom's Assisted Living Facility"

My mom started living here more than a year ago. The meals have gotten worse since she joined. Breakfast is okay but dinner is terrible. My family has stopped having our meals there because it's just too bad. They serve the same type of chicken every other day and the same kind of soup for lunch and dinner with no taste at all. I've noticed they serve more carbs and very few proteins. And the ice cream they give for lunch and dinner has too many calories and fat and also too much sugar! As for the activities, they're almost nothing compared to other places. They show a video they call exercise, but only a few people join because it's the same videos over and over while the person in charge of activities just sits in her office. They don't even offer a bus ride to fun places and don't want to drive you to doctor's appointments, instead they tell you to call Uber or Lyft. This is something other places do help with. Seriously??? This place needs somebody to step in and help because it's just going downhill.

"Headline: "Almond Heights: Downfall in Food Quality and Lack of Activities""

My mom lives at Almond Heights. The food there isn't great and has gotten worse since she's moved in a year ago. The chicken they often serve isn't good and dinner is usually not the best. I've noticed fewer people eating there, which is telling. Also, care is spotty and employees don't stay long. Their facility looks nice because it's new. However, there's not much variety in activities, especially outside ones, compared to other places. They hardly have any activities throughout the day. It seems like they're trying to save money, since they didn't even put up decorations for Thanksgiving or Christmas in the dining room to try to make their mediocre food more appealing.

"Fantastic staff and delicious food!"

This place is amazing. The staff is super helpful! We love that the dining room is open for 12 hours with so many meal options! The food is awesome, and they are happy to customize meals! Very happy here! Thank you, Almond Heights!

"Glad my aunt is safe and happy at Almond Heights!"

My aunt is getting comfortable at Almond Heights. The food isn't always the same and sometimes they run out of specials, but there’s a side menu to choose from. The community is new and has lots of cool, modern technology. The place looks fancy, almost like a grand hotel. She can have her dog with her and is taking part in activities and even went on a trip.
