"Arbor Palms Dismisses Post-Surgery Patient, Forces Quick Relocation"
My mom had a fall at the center, ended up breaking her hip and had to go to the hospital for an operation. After the surgery, she had to go to a professional nursing unit to recover. The day she was supposed to go back to Arbor Palms, they told me she couldn't come back and I needed to empty her room. I found myself in a rush to locate a new place for her. Arbor Palms is dreadful.

"Sudden hike in rent, absolute lack of compassion for elderly"
I really can't believe this... My mom started living there and out of the blue, they're jacking up the rent. They didn't have the courtesy to tell me about the higher rent, not through an email or a letter. This business is honestly the worst. I'm so angry, I even had to reach out to Adult Protective Services. There are tons of folks who won't manage to pay this sudden surge in rent. It's a horrible place for older folks to stay. They show zero care for our senior citizens.

"Mixed Experience at Arbor Palms Senior Living"
My father-in-law really liked Arbor Palms Senior Living. He liked the food, the staff were nice, they handled laundry well, and the room was clean. The place looked nice, and the staff always greeted us warmly. Unfortunately, the cost went up by 75% under new management, so we had to leave. They only told us with a 60-day notice by email. It's disappointing because I would have recommended it. I know it's a business, but I hope it doesn't hurt the other residents. We have to move my father-in-law after only a few months here.

"Assisted Living Review: Nice Inside, Busy Outside, Limited Outdoor Enjoyment"
The community inside looked nice. The problem was that it's on a busy street, so we couldn't really enjoy being outside. Our loved ones really like spending time outdoors.

"Mixed Feelings About the Arbors"
Our family visited the Arbors in person and gave it 4 stars. It seemed clean and well-managed, but felt isolated due to the dementia guest on the 1st floor. Parking was less than ideal, and it's on a busy street.

"Unsanitary Conditions Found in Assisted Living Bathroom"
When we moved in, the bathroom was really gross. My roommate hadn't flushed the toilet, so it was full of waste and it had obviously been like that for days. The trash can was overflowing with waste toilet paper. I was shocked.

"Improved Leadership and Teamwork in Assisted Living Facility"
I have lived here for more than 7 years. During this time, we've had 6 different resident directors, and I served as the Resident President for 5 years. I am pleased to say that now I can see leadership taking responsibility, teamwork improving, and all the different parts of the facility functioning more efficiently.

"Good Staff, But Distance and Lack of Walking Space a Problem"
The guide was really good, super friendly and smart. But, it's too far from our house and there's hardly any space for dad to get his walks in. Plus, the place looks a bit old and out of style.

"The residents find contentment"
The assisted living facility was pleasant, and the cost was reasonable. However, the location wasn't ideal. It wasn't very upscale, but it wasn't bad either. The staff seemed friendly, the residents appeared content, and most of the rooms were nice. If you lived closer, this place would likely be great. Unfortunately, it didn't meet our location needs.

"Nice Place with Friendly Staff but Parking Issues"
The place is really nice and the staff was friendly. They interacted well with the residents. The only thing that kept me from choosing this place was the parking lot. It wasn’t big, and people were double parking and blocking the way. Also, even though they allow pets, there’s no place for residents to take their pets to go to the bathroom except right in front of the building. I don’t think that’s safe.

"Tiny Room in a Big Community"
I went on a tour of this big assisted living facility. At the end of the hallway, there was a very tiny room available for my dad. But to get there, he'd have to walk down the hallways, pass the stairs, and take the elevator. I thought that would be too much for him.

"Room for Growth: Critiques on Assisted Living Facility"
My mom's still getting used to life in this place, and we're unsure if it'll be a good fit. She lets me know that many people aren't happy with the meals. At least the place is clean, even though it's pretty dated and has those old popcorn ceilings. This place could really do with some improvements. Moreover, it would be nice if they could provide an outdoor seating area for folks living here to hang out.

"Great care and clean, friendly community!"
We found this place to be clean and pleasant. The tour was great, and the staff paid close attention to the care needs we had. The menu looked good, and knowing more about the activities would have been useful. The community is lovely both inside and out. It's a good option for families needing care.

"Great Staff and Friendly Atmosphere"
Meridian Gardens has been a great choice for my loved one. She wasn’t very social at first, but by the second week, she started to open up. The staff even sent me a video of her singing! The place is very clean and has a nice atmosphere. One thing that could be better is the food. She likes “soul food” and they could use more comfort food and better seasoning on the chicken. Overall, the experience has been very positive. She was amazing by checking in with us and answering all our questions without being pushy. Her efforts are the main reason we chose Meridian Gardens. The front desk staff were also very friendly and helpful. They did a lot of things that impressed me.

"Happy Here, But Food Could Improve"
Since moving here, things have been pretty good. My only issue is the food; it’s not that tasty. I can ask for something else, but the other options aren’t always better. So, I’ve started writing down the meals I don’t enjoy to make sure I don’t pick them again. Besides that, they keep this place super clean. Everyone working here is super nice and always ready to lend a hand. There’s stuff to do, but I haven’t tried any activities yet.

"Satisfied With Brother's Care, Yet Room for Improvement"
The facilities are clean, and the staff is friendly and willing to help. I am aware that there are recreational activities for him. The staff resolves any issues we've reported. He's making friends too. Thanks to its proximity, we can easily visit our brother. Now, I'm much more at peace with the level of care he's receiving. He's starting to settle down and is adjusting well. The care provided is worth the cost. However, I'm a bit worried about the meals he receives. The dining area could also use a makeover. On the whole, he's faring well with the care provided. I'd suggest this community to other families.

"Assisted Living Facility: Great Location But Room For Improvement."
My brother moved in just last week. The employees are helpful and caring, but there have been a couple of times where things didn't go as planned. I'm hoping a routine will form as more time passes. The place is in a great location for us, making it easy for us to visit frequently. Remembering all the names of staff and other contacts is tricky for me, and it must be even harder for my brother. I've asked for a staff list to familiarize myself but haven't gotten it yet.

"Lovely Community, Great Tour, Friendly Staff, Slightly Expensive"
This place is really nice. I was looking at it for my brother and it was one of my favorites. The tour was good, everyone was nice and friendly. They even asked us to come back and taste their food. It was a bit pricey for what we can afford though. But overall, it's a nice place. I had a good time on the tour.

"Unsatisfactory Review of Assisted Living Facility"
I had a chat with staff from the Memory Care Unit. The private room is good but the shared one lacks privacy. The place had a foul odor and a few unhappy residents voiced complaints. It's not a suitable place to have my mother housed.

"Neglected Facility But Very Affordable"

"False Advertising and Poor Management at Assisted Living Facility"
My mom and dad spent a few weeks there. Sure, the place looks nice but what you're shown is pretty different from what you actually get. I spoke with a lot of the staff and they seem totally exhausted. It's also infested with roaches. During a tour, they try to make the place look joyful and happy but it isn't really. The activities they offer aren't as they appear to be. My parents' clothes kept disappearing. Overall, the place is a disaster. They seriously need to swap out their management. Just downright disgusting!

The facility and staff were super friendly and helpful. We had a short time frame, so the available space wasn’t right for my parents, even though it was big and beautiful. "Great care, attentive staff, and lovely memory care units!"
The staff here are very attentive, always easy to find, and wear the same uniform for easy identification. They listen well, address concerns, and follow up. The facility offers ongoing memory care training for staff, so they're always learning and improving. The care is active, not just watching residents. The memory care units are excellent; when we brought my mom in, she thought it was a hotel because of the lovely decor. They also display items from past generations for residents to interact with. We've been very pleased so far.

"Mixed Experience at Meridian Gardens Assisted Living Facility"
Meridian Gardens of Anaheim has been pretty good overall. However, there are some things they could do better. First, they have a schedule for activities, but they don't always stick to it. Sometimes, they say they'll do something at a certain time, but then they don't. Also, they have outings every Thursday, but my mom hasn't been on one yet. I wish they would let her know when these outings are happening and encourage her to join. Lastly, since it's a memory care facility, they need to be more careful when ambulances come by. Once, an ambulance came, and my mom wandered off with them to the hospital, even though they weren't there for her. So, there are a few areas where they could improve, but overall, they're doing okay.

"Clean and friendly, but slow response times sometimes"

"Mixed Feelings About Meridian Gardens"
Our feelings about Meridian Gardens are mixed. The place looks pretty good, and the nurses usually know what they're doing and are willing to help. But talking with the management? That's been tough. It feels like anyone who could actually help me out doesn't get there until around 10:30, which is when I can't be there anymore. The food could be better too - sometimes it's good, other times not so much.

"Understaffed and needs cleaning, but offers decent food"
My mom's been in the memory care department at the assisted living home for some time. The folks who work there are super nice, but there just aren't enough of them. Sometimes, no one's at the front desk, meaning people can just come and go unnoticed. The cleanliness of the rooms could definitely be improved too. The cleaning should be done daily, but it's clearly not. Last time I went to see my mom, I found a ton of dust and dust bunnies behind her bed. Her private washroom isn't cleaned every day either. They do laundry a lot, but I've noticed a lot of my mom's stuff, like her clothes, sheets and towels, have disappeared and we've had to ask the staff to find them. Of the 8 pairs of pants she moved in with, only 3 are left so I have to buy her more. The food isn't an issue - my mom's not a picky eater and she seems happy with what they serve. And if she misses a meal, the staff's always good about putting something aside for her so she doesn't go hungry.

"Cozy Assisted Living: Good, But Needs Better Food Options"
The place is always clean and smells nice. Lots of friendly staff around. They have events sometimes where families can hang out. Food is okay, not amazing. It'd be cool if they let residents pick their meals— not everyone likes the same stuff. The inside always looks cool for whatever season it is. The rent goes up a lot every year, which can be tough if you're on a fixed income.

"While There Are Issues, Efforts Are Made for Improvements"
This assisted living place has a fair share of issues. They're really putting in the effort to fix things though. The cleanliness isn't up to par and they could do better. Sometimes we call on the weekends but nobody picks up, which is frustrating. The nurse who was supposed to make sure grandma was taking her medication quit not long after we got there, so grandma wasn't taking her medicine all the time. There are only two helpers for 18 residents. They really need more staff. The higher-ups have created a system for deciding how many staff they need, but it seems like it’s more for their benefit, not the residents’. Despite these issues, the cost is reasonable. The staff and folks there are really nice. The management seems pretty poor though. If only they could get things under control and look out for those under their care, it could be great. The food can be better. There was a time when they didn't even have basic things like salt and pepper! .
