"Mixed Feelings about Assisted Living Facility"
Overall, this place isn't too bad. But it's really expensive. Plus, they raised the price by $[removed] a month after the first year, and nothing improved. The equipment like washing machines often need fixing, and the heating and AC are old. There's no designated parking, so you might struggle to find a spot when you get back.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Community"
I think the people in charge here are a bit sneaky, but the folks who live here are usually nice. We chose this place because they have fun things to do, and it's in a safe part of Davis where you can walk around. I'd suggest it only if your family members are pretty self-sufficient.

"Great Tour, Distant Location"
Our family visited Atria Covell Gardens in person, and we really enjoyed the community and the tour. However, the location was too far from our family.

"Extremely disappointed, high cost, and failed promises at Atria Covell."
I'm totally let down. They made big promises but didn't deliver at all. We shifted my 94-year-old mom to a really fancy, big room on [date] and she was gone by [date]. We ended up dealing with a bunch of unwanted expenses and my complaints just don't stop. I would absolutely tell people to steer clear of Atria Covell Gardens.

"Proceed with Caution: Shady Contract Terms at Assisted Living Community"
We chose this place because of its location and the activities it offers. But be cautious about the contract terms—make sure you know the dates for signing, taking possession, and moving in. Some things seem a little shady.

"Felt tricked over facility's false long-term care promise."
When they first evaluated our family member, they said they could stay in the facility forever regardless of the level of care required. But that wasn't true at all. We felt entirely deceived and exploited.

The place felt nice, everyone was friendly, and it didn't feel like a nursing home.

"Mixed Feelings about Appointment and Reception at Assisted Living Facility"
We met with as planned. They have the apartment we want, but it's not available now. The reception was nice, but not the best. Unsure if we'd feel as welcomed here compared to other places.

Why is Atria raising prices so much despite problems?

"Mom’s liking Atria Covell Gardens more and more"
I’m really happy with Atria Covell Gardens. My mom is adjusting slowly, but she’s starting to like some things there. It’s great that she can have her dog with her and that they provide a dog walker. The staff seem caring and keep in touch with me by phone. We’ve had to address a few issues with my mom, but overall, she loves the food and enjoys going to the dining room and activities. She hasn’t gone on many field trips yet. I take her to the doctor, but they can arrange transportation if needed, and there’s a bus for outings and shopping. I’d definitely recommend Atria Covell Gardens to friends and family.

"Tour for Care"
I visited this community. It was big, but it didn't feel right for us. The staff was friendly and caring, but the cost was more than we wanted. The menu looked good, and the place was clean. However, it had a resort vibe, which wasn't what we were looking for. The staff knew residents' names. We recommend other families consider this community for their loved ones.

"Great place, just need more activity involvement."
Atria Covell Gardens is a pretty amazing place. Everything has been really good there. The only issue we’ve had is that my grandmother hasn’t been very involved in the activities. I’m not sure if they’re doing enough to encourage her participation. But other than that, we are happy with everything, and she really loves it there.

"They care for Mom like family and keep her active"
The place is always clean and taken care of. The staff are kind and loving, treating my Mom like she’s part of their family. Every time I visit, Mom is involved in some activity, and they keep her busy. The food is better than most, and they bring her snacks whenever she wants. They also offer transportation for shopping trips.

"Think Twice Before Choosing Atria Covell for High-Care Needs"
If your family member needs a lot of assistance, really ponder about choosing Atria Covell Gardens. They gave us false information and we had to relocate her when they gave an eviction warning (in a very unkind way) after only a few weeks. They evaluated her before the move and time and again, they said her care requirements won't be an issue. The sad part? Our mom seemed to enjoy the company of the staff and she looked content in her new place. Keep in mind, it's tough to rate accurately because we only stayed for less than two months.

"Good Location and Staff, But Needs Improvement"
Well, there's definitely room for improvement. They could be a bit cleaner. The staff is very responsive so far. The activities... she's not doing many of them. It seems like the staff does what's easiest for them, not really for the residents. Maybe they could ask the residents what they like to do. Also, the price is very high... but they all are! It seems like a good value, but it's still expensive. The location was perfect for us, and it was the perfect mix of location, nice staff, and a decent price.

"Covell Gardens: surprisingly happy and well-cared-for."
My father reluctantly moved into Covell Gardens this month. He hated giving up his independence, but it was time. He’s surprisingly happy at Covell Gardens. The staff is very friendly and cheerful, and they go out of their way to make sure the residents have everything they need. I asked my dad if he had finished reading a book I loaned him, and he said, "Sorry, I've been too busy.

"Not Ideal for Mom: Large Facility, Dim Dining Room"
Not the right place for Mom. The facility was too large, but the food service setup was good. Unfortunately, the dining room was dimly lit.

"Great Location and Transport, but New Carpets Not So Great"
Every room got new carpets (which aren't so great). But the free rides are convenient and the place is nearby plenty of religious sites and eateries. They have loads of pianos, food available all the time, and even a stove in each room. The carpets could use some work, though. They also offer short stays of two weeks, and there's physical therapy on-site. There's one nurse there, and they give out medicine but don't adjust doses. Unfortunately, there's no nutritionist on-site. The best things about it are the location and available transportation.
