"New Chapter: Mom’s Assisted Living Journey"
Mom’s been at the assisted living place for a month now. She’s as cheerful as someone can be who’s had to leave their own house. The folks there are super nice and always ready to lend a hand. We’ve got just one little issue: the “hello” packet missed some key info like when we can eat at the restaurants, what fun stuff is planned, and nobody pointed out Mom’s mailbox or gave her a key to it. The building’s neat, except for some construction mess, and the meals are tasty. I believe once Mom gets past the big change of moving, she’ll make lots of friends and start having a great time.

Things are going okay with my mother at Atria El Camino Gardens. She is slowly adjusting. The staff has been very helpful and patient, and they really try to meet her needs. "Thankful for the Care at Atria El Camino Gardens"
My mom has been at Atria El Camino Gardens for less than a month, so this review is based on a short time. Everyone has been very supportive as we made the tough decision for my mom to leave her home of over 60 years. The staff has given helpful suggestions and even a hug when needed as my mom adjusts. They've also been supportive of me, answering my calls and keeping me updated since I live out of town. I’m happy and relieved to see my mom in a safe place, getting good meals, and joining activities with others. The facility is very clean, and the interactions I’ve seen between staff and residents are great. I don’t feel like I left her in a place where she’s just sitting or sleeping all day. It’s hard to talk about my own parent and what’s best, but I feel she is safe and loved.

"Atria El Camino Gardens is Still Undergoing Renovation"
Atria El Camino Gardens is still being remodeled right now. My mom started living there after my dad passed away. The place was being fixed up when we visited, which we understood. But, we thought the work would be finished sooner. The hallway where my mom lives is finished though, which is good. But the other people living there aren't happy about all the construction. It's bothering them. Another thing that doesn't make me very happy is our bill. They can't seem to get it right. We got a special price and they keep billing us the wrong amount. I really do like a lady named Michelle, who works there. We had issues at the start but she's been very helpful to us.

"Great experience at Atria El Camino Gardens, some adjustments needed"
My family had a great time at Atria El Camino Gardens. They gave us a list of 6 places to check out and we toured 4 of them. We liked the two Atria places the best because they fit what we needed and were easy to get to. The staff there was super helpful and made everything easy for us. We chose this place because they have a program to help new people settle in, but it didn't help my mom as much as we hoped. She still had trouble finding her way around. It would be nice if people who lived there longer could show new people around.

"Improvements Needed, But Overall Friendly Assisted Living Facility"
The food could definitely use some work. When I've eaten lunch there with my mom, it hasn't been enjoyable. The chicken tends to be dry, and overall, it's pretty bland. I've even heard other residents complain about it. They're in the middle of renovations, but they're taking longer than expected. This has caused a few inconveniences. Besides those issues, I think the place is pretty great. The staff is very friendly.

"Overpriced and Underserviced: A Disheartening Experience"
I'm totally disappointed. They promised me a price of $2640, but it got hiked up to $4470 without even a heads up. I'm planning to move my mom by the end of this month and I seriously won't keep quiet about their shady business. I've lived around here for half a century and trust me, I know people. They didn't even provide all the services they promised. After spending nearly two weeks and forking over hefty sums, they didn't even offer to help my mom shower.

"Friendly Atmosphere with Billing Issue"
Overall, Atria El Camino Gardens is pretty good. It's a nice place with friendly staff who are always helpful. Mom likes the activities, which is surprising because she usually doesn't join in much. But here, she does everything and says everyone is nice and likes to chat. However, when we moved in, they made her sign early and charged for days when she couldn't use the room. That didn't seem right.

"Let Down by Empty Promises at Assisted Living Facility"
I'm really let down. I heard so much good stuff about this place, but they really let me down with a bunch of empty promises. They told me when I moved my dad in that they'd let him go to his favorite activities and even drive him there. Turns out, they've only taken him to one! Plus, he's diabetic and I was told someone would watch his diet at the restaurants. But when I talk to him, he's always telling me about the cake and other sugary stuff he's been eating. But what really upset me was when they said his dog couldn't stay after they had told me it was okay. I had to fly back, get his doctor's permission for the dog, and then leave again. It's a nice community, but they sure do overpromise.

They are doing a good job. We had a few problems at first, but they fixed them. The place is clean, and the staff is friendly. You can choose what you want from a menu. "Warm and Welcoming Assisted Living with Minor Accessibility Concerns"
My family member stayed here for almost two years. The staff was really nice and caring. She enjoyed living here. Sometimes it took a bit long, around twenty minutes, for someone to assist when she called for help. While they're good at assisted living, they couldn't provide the level of care we needed. The building is older and some bathrooms aren't easy to use. There's one dining room where everyone eats together, which she liked because she could chat with other residents. They have a chef, and the food was delicious, which is rare in this area. Some staff members were exceptionally helpful and friendly. I'd recommend it for those who don't need a lot of care.

"Great Facility with Friendly Staff and Happy Residents"
My husband and I visited this facility last month while searching for a place for his mother. The facility is very clean, bright, and cheerful. The staff are friendly, and the residents seem well cared for and happy. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and provided us with helpful information. They even arranged for the nurse to evaluate my mother-in-law. Since my mother-in-law has dementia, we chose a smaller care home with only six residents. However, we would have picked Atria if circumstances were different, as it seems like a wonderful place to live.

"Great but watch the finance folks"
Moved my mom here a year ago. It's a much better value than her last place in Folsom, but the caregivers aren't as warm. They aren’t unfriendly, but they don’t make her feel special. The food is great with long dining room hours and lots of choices, which is really important for the residents. There are tons of activities, social groups, and classes. I actually want to live here myself! I even recommended it to my father-in-law, and he loved it for the few months he stayed. I’d recommend this place to anyone. However, keep a close eye on the finances. When my mom was sick last year, they raised the rates without explaining. After I brought it up, they agreed it was wrong and lowered them again. They also don’t seem to understand Long-term care insurance and mess up claim forms, so you’ll need to be careful with that part.

This spot seemed really pretty and everyone working there was super nice. But it just didn't work for my family member. People living there seemed to need a lot of help which cut down on fun stuff. Plus, they kept hiking up the cost every year, which started to stretch my family member's budget.

"Unimpressed by Care, Impressed by Menu"
I'm not sure why they call themselves a memory care facility. Their care level didn't match what you'd expect. If more care is needed, they get paid helpers, and it costs extra. Atria is an older place that offers different types of care. A lot of the assisted living rooms are studio-sized and many memory care rooms are shared. They do have all services available on-site. "Fantastic Value and Many Activities, Just Need Family Room Back"
Compared to other places we checked, this was the best value. My dad lives here, and even though there are many activities, he rarely joins in. We’ve tried to encourage him but haven’t had much luck. They offer trips to ball games, card games, exercise programs, and more. They post a monthly calendar with all the activities. There’s plenty to do, including a garden club. We just need to get my dad involved. He walks a lot. I really liked that they used to have a guest apartment for family stays, but it’s recently been rented out. "Wonderful, wonderful place"
The Atria is an absolutely fantastic place. We were really, really impressed with everything. We should have moved her here years ago because she absolutely loved it. I have to say, the day before she started to decline, they had some musical entertainment with women in soldier uniforms singing songs she used to sing in the USO. She was thrilled! The next day, her health got worse, and while they weren’t equipped to care for her at that stage, the caregivers were compassionate. They went above and beyond, spending time with her and being so kind. I would recommend them to anyone. The food is great, and they can eat in the dining room pretty much whenever they want. I’d even stay here myself!

"Restaurant-Style Dining and More"
Atria is a really nice place with lots to offer. We loved the rooms and how nice they were. The grounds are very pretty and well-kept. The activities are set up really well. The dining hall is like a restaurant, so you can go in whenever you want and order from a menu. We liked that because it gives you more choices and the freedom to eat when you want. They also have a smaller dining area you can reserve for birthday parties or other events. With all these extras, it’s probably why it’s more expensive than other places we’ve looked at.
