"Mixed feelings about this assisted living facility"
We told people about it, but it's not fancy like the Ritz. Mom always grumbles about the food. They have meetings a lot. Fixing stuff in the rooms seems slow. But the place looks nice overall.

"Atria Grand Oaks: Pricey and Lacks Beauty"
Our family visited Atria Grand Oaks in person. Atria is better suited for people who don't need help, but it's expensive and not in a pretty location.

"Inconsistent Service at Nice Assisted Living Facility"
This place is nice, and my mom is starting to feel comfortable, but there wasn't anyone to greet her and show her around. I recommended it, but wish they were more organized. We chose it because of the location and price. They don't respond well to concerns about apartments or finances. It takes multiple calls or emails to get a response.

"Mixed feelings about Grand Oaks senior living facility, overall satisfactory."
My mom lives at Grand Oaks, the best place for seniors near me. She likes it overall but has some issues. She wishes there were more activities to do and that the dining room wasn't so crowded during meals. The food is okay, but she's had better elsewhere. The dining room isn't open all day, so it's hard to find a quiet time to eat. The exercise classes are always full, especially the pool ones—they only offer those once a week. On the bright side, the apartments are nice, and we could afford a bigger one here than at other places we looked at. The staff is nice, though, and that makes a big difference. In short, it's a nice place with friendly staff, but it's not perfect for someone who's really active. Other places have better food, but considering everything, it was the best choice for our budget.

"Cost Exceeded Budget"
We really liked the friendly staff, and the grounds were pleasant. However, the total cost, including care fees, exceeded our budget.

"Friendly Atmosphere with Good Communication, Satisfactory Dining Options"
My loved one really likes it here. The staff and other people living here are nice. The staff usually tells us what we need to know. Sometimes I have to call more than once to get an answer, but mostly it’s okay. They serve three meals every day, and there are different foods to pick from. If you ask, they’ll adjust the food for special diets.

"Friendly Atmosphere, Good Value, Some Room for Improvement"
We picked Atria Grand Oaks because the staff and residents were so welcoming when we visited. It seemed like the best choice for what we could afford. The apartments are a bit small; we have a one-bedroom and had to adjust before moving in, and we're still adjusting now. I think they should focus more on making sure the food they serve is nutritious. But overall, we'd suggest it to others who are in the market.

"Caring Staff and Pleasant Environment, Some Meal Delivery Issues"
The people who work here, from the front desk to the kitchen staff and managers, are really nice and helpful. The place is well-maintained, with beautiful flowers outside, and our family member feels happy to be living here. The meals used to be very tasty, but now they have to be brought to their rooms because of lockdown, and sometimes they're good and sometimes not so much.

"Mixed Experience During COVID at Atria Assisted Living"
During COVID, the place seemed nicer before we moved in. We brought our loved one in March to be closer, but then the lockdown lasted 10 weeks. Activities were scarce, and calls about concerns were unanswered. Only one COVID case, likely from outside staff. Meals weren't great, and dining room capacity was limited. Outdoor activities were missed.

"Convenient Location and Lovely Building; Activities Could Be Improved"
Beautiful building in a great location. However, there are no outdoor activities like pickleball. I would consider this place only if I couldn't play sports outside anymore, but that's not likely for many years.

"Positive Experience with Some Dining Issues"
Atria Grand Oaks has been mostly good for me. The dining staff has some problems because they don’t have enough people working, so sometimes it takes a long time to get our food. But the rest of the staff has been really great. They are very helpful and caring. The director is excellent. She’s definitely right for the job and has a great personality. She’s incredibly helpful and everyone really likes her. I would suggest this community to other people.
