""Atria Assisted Living: A Daughter's Plea for Better Care""
If there was an option for negative stars, I'd pick that. Atria, where my father received memory care for two years, was subpar. I've lodged multiple complaints with the establishment itself and with DSS, Ombudsman, but no resolutions were met. I strongly advise potential residents or caretakers to seek honest evaluations from current residents' families first. The problems we encountered during my father's stay with Atria included: - Yearly rate hikes over 12%. - Not enough staff in the memory care department. Residents were often left alone and had unsafe access to areas like the kitchen. - Failed medication delivery. My father and others missed their medication for several days. - The presence of pressure ulcers. - Persistent bug infestations in living spaces. - A lack of nursing staff for extended periods. - Discouragement against forming a family council. - Ignoring my father's vegetarian diet and repeatedly served him meat against his wishes. Despite a seemingly beautiful establishment, Atria failed to provide adequate care in the memory care department. Be warned of the potential pitfalls of this institution. -Lisa Turcillo

"Pretty Good"
My mom stayed at Assisted Living for a while, and it was good initially. Unfortunately, her disease progressed quickly. The Memory Care floor felt depressing, even though they had great activities and seemed competent. Private rooms weren't available in Memory Care, which was too expensive for us. I did like the Director; he was knowledgeable and knew what he was doing.

"A Great Choice"
We liked this place a lot. We would have moved our loved one in, but they're replacing the elevator, and we're not sure about the chair lift. The staff is awesome, and they have daily activities. The food is really good, and the community is clean. I'd recommend it.

"Gross Neglect at Premium Cost: Atria Assisted Living Disaster"
This assisted living facility is a disappointment with its unethical and unprofessional behavior. A few good employees make up for the terrible management and majority of other workers. My dad, who was diagnosed with brain cancer, was part of this facility and we had to hire our own excellent nurses and caregivers because Atria's staff fell short. They were not only unhelpful but rude and incapable of giving my dad any kind of quality care. On top of this, they threatened repeatedly to remove my father or increase his care cost - a slap in the face since we hired our own caregivers! I had to watch my father's health decline and also witness the Atria staff failing to care for the other residents. I would see the caregivers ignoring their duties while the elderly residents wandered aimlessly or were left to watch TV for hours. The management was uncaring and cold. It's clear to me that Atria only cares about money, ignoring the needs and feelings of the residents and their families. I believe whatever board grants certifications for assisted living should look into this facility. Don't just take my word for it, if you have a family member living there, pay them a surprise visit.

"They Have Been Amazing"
They have been amazing. Moving was hard, but they helped me through it all. They really supported us the whole time and let my loved one's friends stay there for a bit while she got settled. They did everything to make sure she was comfortable.

I loved everything about Atria Park. They were just awesome. They had everything we wanted in a facility. The staff was super helpful and very attentive, which was great.

"Friendly staff, planning a second visit"
We really liked our visit here. It was the first assisted living place we checked out, so we’ll probably have more questions when we visit again. The staff was very friendly. I’m planning to bring my mom for lunch and see how she feels about it. I hope we can talk to some residents, too.

"Review of Atria Pacific Palisades Alzheimer's/Memory Care in Pacific Palisades, CA"
This place is wonderful! The people working there are great, and the atmosphere feels just right – not too small, not too big. It is pricey, but if we decide to move here (only the studio is within our budget, a one-bedroom is too expensive), we’ll figure out the money part.
