"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
From our point of view, it seems like they don't always give us direct information. We had to ask a lot of basic questions. After we paid, it felt like we were on our own, except when they raised the rent (which happened three times in a year). The memory care staff has been great, but the office staff is nowhere to be found. Despite that, I'd still recommend it, but with some warnings.

"Caring and Affordable Assisted Living with Diverse Activities"
Pacifica in Rancho Penasquitos is a great place. The staff is very caring, friendly, and kind. They take their jobs seriously and make sure everyone is well taken care of. The facility is clean and doesn't cost too much. They have activities all day that lots of different people like. They usually plan three outings each week so residents can shop, have lunch out, or enjoy a nice drive. The food is good and they let you choose what you want to eat. My dad is getting more exercise, meeting new friends, and doing things to keep his brain active all day. We're really grateful to everyone at Pacifica for everything they do!

"Disappointed with Aged Hospital-like Assisted Living Facility"
When we visited Pacifica Senior Living Rancho Penasquitos looking for an assisted living place for our family member, we were disappointed. It gave off the vibe of an outdated hospital, which was not at all what we wanted for our loved one.

"Assisted Living Facility Needs More Activities, Location Matters"
The assisted living place is alright, but it needs more things for the residents to do. It's okay, but I'd recommend checking out other places too. We chose this place because it's close by and they talked about activities, but they didn't really happen.

"Affordable with drawbacks; recommend for consideration despite staff turnover and food concerns."
The Pacifica Senior Living Rancho Penasquitos offers a good value for the cost. However, we've noticed a lot of changes in the staff, which has been disappointing. Also, the food served to residents lacks in taste and variety. Despite these issues, I would still suggest this place to others who are searching.

"Communication Challenges and Staff Availability Concerns"
It's really hard to reach anyone by phone at the facility. We don't know how to email the staff to check on things like Depends or wipes for my loved one. When we visit, sometimes we can find someone in charge in the memory care area to ask questions, but it's hit or miss. The food is okay; I think my loved one is just picky about what they eat.

"Unsatisfied with Staff and Care at Aging Facility"
This place is pretty old but it’s kept mostly clean. There’s been a bunch of staff changes lately. The folks I’ve met are nice enough. But they’re short on care services and need more workers. It takes too long for things to get done, and the care isn’t what we hoped for. The cleaners are sweet and always have a smile on. There haven’t been many fun activities since they just hired a new person to run them. All in all, I’m not pleased.

"Good facility with clean rooms and decent meals, some issues"
Overall, this is a very good facility. Mom is in memory care, but there isn’t a nurse there all the time, only med techs. When mom came back from the hospital, it would have been helpful to have a nurse for wound care and other needs the med techs can’t handle. I knew this before, but it really mattered when she needed extra care. Also, the doors are kept closed by policy, but it would be nice if mom could see people passing by to feel more at home. She can’t do much, but seeing others would help her. The facility is very clean, especially the rooms, and the meals seem good. Overall, I would recommend them.

"Mixed Feelings at Assisted Living"
The place seemed nice, but it needs some updates. The food choices weren't great, but the residents appeared happy.

"Friendly Staff, Easy Move-In, Payment System Needs Work"
The people working here are super nice, and getting settled in was a breeze. But when it comes to paying bills, their website and office team could really use some help—it’s pretty confusing. Besides that, the place is great and the person we care about likes living here. They’re switching who owns the place right now, so things are a bit up in the air.
