"Atria: A Nice Choice for Families"
It was a nice place for my mom, and she enjoyed living there. I picked Atria because they provided thorough information and practices, and the location worked well for our family. The food was usually okay, sometimes even better, but mealtime wasn’t crucial for my mom. I’d recommend this community to other families.

"Disappointing Experience at Atria Tamalpais; Theft and Poor Services"
My dad lived at Atria Tamalpais Creek and I had a really horrible experience. $13,000 in cash was stolen from his apartment when he was sent to the hospital because of a heart attack. He wanted me to grab his safe box which had cash for emergencies. When I got there, the cash was gone and the safe box was open. I reported this theft to the police and the director of Atria. The director only seemed to care when the police were around. He didn't seem concerned about the fact that my father's money had gone missing. My dad unexpectedly died a week later and we never saw his money again. Atria never took any responsibility for this theft. They didn't even do their own investigation or even say sorry for what happened. They said the police report didn't clearly identify who took the money because over twenty staff members had keys to his apartment. But that doesn't change the fact that his money was taken while it was under Atria's care. Even if my dad's money hadn't been stolen, I still wouldn't recommend Atria. Their lack of compassion and lack of good activities for their residents is disappointing. When my dad died, he was waiting to move to another senior community because of how unhappy he was at Atria. The receptionist there didn't even know his name. Atria seems to be a place where people wait for their life to end, not a place where they can enjoy life. When I found out about my dad's stolen money, I looked up Atria Tamalpais Creek online. I found out they had been investigated 23 times by Social Services. They've also not had a good record with the Better Business Bureau. I really wish my dad never lived at Atria Tamalpais Creek and that they cared about his stolen money. But since I can't change what happened now, I just hope others think real hard before they send their loved ones to live there.

"Grateful for Consistent, Caring Service at Atria Assisted Living"
We moved my parents to Atria three years ago. My dad passed away quickly, and my mom had to move to the memory care unit because her dementia got worse. We had to make three moves in one year, and the staff was really helpful with all these changes. The place is always clean, the food is really good, and the staff is very caring and professional. I had heard that assisted living costs usually go up a lot as people need more care, but I was amazed that Atria kept my mom’s care level consistent, even as she needed more help. We are so grateful for the care my parents received at Atria.

"Great Tour with Good Staff and Amenities, Wrong Location"
I went on a tour of this place and it was pretty good. The staff showed up on time and answered all my questions really well. The place was clean, and they had cool stuff for everyone living there. But, it just wasn't in the right place for my dad.

"Dad enjoys the food and activities at this nice place"
So far, my dad likes it here. The staff is very helpful and quick to respond. He’s also getting involved in activities, which surprised me. One of the best things about this place is the food! He really enjoys the meals they make. We picked this community because he liked the atmosphere and it’s in a convenient spot. Once he saw Atria, he didn’t want to check out any other places.

"Important Info Missing!"
This place was amazing. The staff was super nice and answered all my questions. They have lots of food choices. I was really upset when they said they couldn't take my loved one after 3 months of planning. No one told us sooner. The staff should do better at keeping me informed.

"Pampered Living Makes Mom Happier Than Ever"
My mom hasn’t been this happy in years. She’s full of energy, excited about each new day, and thrilled to make new friends. She says the food is amazing! She loves not having to worry about shopping or cooking anymore. After a meeting outside Atria, she was thrilled to find a hot meal waiting for her in her room when she got back. She’s always been very independent, but now she’s really enjoying being pampered here.

"Highly Recommend for Great Service and Delicious Food"
Overall, they make sure to explain everything clearly, which is great. They were more than happy to give me a tour of the place. The tour was well-organized, and I really liked their setup. They have a system for checking in and out for both guests and residents. My loved one says they are quick to respond to needs. Their paperwork and billing are also handled well. The food is really tasty. I would definitely recommend this place.

"Great stay with confidence in their care"
My husband stayed here for a short-term break and really enjoyed it. I can't say much about the value, activities, or care since I wasn't there, but I felt really confident and at ease knowing he was well taken care of!

"They Did Well"
They did a good job overall. However, there’s an issue with getting Advil or Aspirin for your loved one—it requires effort. The medications need to be handled carefully, and you can’t do anything without a doctor’s order. It’s a problem that makes things really hard. I ended up paying for a 6-month supply of medications I didn’t even order, which doesn’t seem right. While the staff is friendly, they lack the necessary skills. Perhaps it’s more of a legal issue than something specific to Atria, but it causes delays.

"Mom's health and attitude improved greatly!"
Atria Tamalpais Creek is an amazing place. We are so happy with them. My mom is like a new person! We call it a five-star hotel and would move in ourselves if we could. Mom's health, attitude, and everything have gotten better. It's a very well-run place with excellent, caring staff. I can't say enough good things about them or recommend them enough. I'm very thankful my mom is staying there.

"Friendly and Nice Place!"
Overall, I think they’ve done a great job at Atria Tamalpais Creek. It’s a really nice place, and the staff are all very friendly. My loved one is still having some trouble getting used to the community, but they are really trying to help him settle in and feel comfortable. My only complaint is that the community sometimes seems a bit short-staffed.

"Happy with cleanliness and friendly staff, more activities needed"
We’re pleased with this place. It’s very clean, and most of the staff are friendly. It would be great if there were more activities and outings, like at other communities. They do have some outings, but not as many as I’d prefer. The price and location were big factors in our decision.

"Dad's Care Fumbled by Atria Tamalpais Creek"
At first, Atria at Tamalpais Creek seemed like the perfect place for my Dad. The folks there were friendly, the grub was decent, the location was beautiful, and it wasn't too crowded. The salesperson who talked to us about moving my Dad in seemed genuinely concerned about his social and physical wellbeing. But, right after my Dad moved in, she started avoiding answering basic questions about things like how they manage medications, what services they offer, special diet options and questions about the place in general. She even came across as pretty rude to my family. A few months in, my Dad's needs started to get more demanding, and we ended up shelling out more money for a higher level of care. It was clear as day that Atria just couldn't properly assess his rising needs and respond accordingly. Whenever my Dad pushed the call button for help, it consistently took them over 10 minutes to respond. If there was a real emergency, my Dad could've been in serious danger. Sadly, because Atria couldn't get their act together, we were forced to move my Dad just 6 months later to a place nearby that charges quite a bit less but offers a higher level of care. Sure, as a place that provides three meals a day and a bed to sleep in, Atria at Tamalpais Creek does the job. But if you're expecting anything more than that, I'd advise looking elsewhere.

"Great place with friendly staff and good location"
The staff at Atria Tamalpais Creek was very friendly and helpful. They answered all our questions. The place is nice and in a good location, just a block from the public library. We chose it over other places for this reason. My mom wasn't thrilled with the food choices, but that might happen anywhere. They did have to quarantine some residents with the flu, which led to fewer activities and meal options. It wasn’t their fault—they handled it well. Overall, we were treated well and had a good experience. We're thankful to A Place For Mom for their help!
