"Pleasant Assisted Living with Great Activities and Social Community"
I'm not sure if any home deserves a perfect 5-star rating overall. Overall, I've been pretty happy with Atria Willow Glen and my mom's time there. They have great activities and a strong social community. Most of the residents live independently. The garden and grounds are very nice.

"Lovely Assisted Living for Mom - Great Staff and Beautiful Grounds"
We found a great place for my mom who lived independently in her own small apartment from age 90 to 97. What drew her to Atria were the nice outdoor areas and separate buildings instead of it feeling like a hotel. She really enjoyed the koi pond, trees, and gardens that were well taken care of. The staff were friendly and always ready to assist, which I also appreciated!

"Lovely Assisted Living Facility with Caring Staff and Spacious Rooms"
My loved one stayed briefly due to health issues. The place is really nice and has a safe garden for residents. If you can pay for it, it’s great. The rooms are big. The staff really cares about the residents. I would suggest it to others for loved ones who are ready to move and are early in their journey and can then move here.

"Great Activities"
My mom is doing well at Atria Willow Glen. The community is beautiful and cozy. The staff is friendly, but they could respond faster to residents' needs. The food is good, and the activities, especially swimming, are great. My mom loves the view of Dry Creek from her room. I'd recommend this place to friends and family.

"Lovely Facility, But Too Restrictive for Residents"
The place looked great. But, the space for the assisted living residents was too restricted. We'd need to get additional help just so my in-laws could step outside.

"Good Place, But Not Perfect for Us"
The place was nice and the people were kind of like a big family. Trying to see if my brother would like it there was something I hadn’t done before. The folks showing us around did their jobs well and were nice. I looked at everything they had there. It was good that “A Place For Mom” gave us a bunch of places to check out. But in the end, this place wasn’t the best match for what we needed.

"Decent Facility Improving Apartments; Good Grounds but Small Indoors"
This place is decent and set in an old, cozy neighborhood. They're fixing up each apartment when they can. The outdoor space is neat and tidy, but people have to walk outside to reach the dining area and fun events. This is fine when the weather's good, but not great when it's cold or wet. The whole place is a bit old-fashioned and the apartments aren't very big.

I have been living here for a while and I like it. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and respectful all the time. My room is nice and always kept clean with weekly cleaning and my own tidying up. "Perfect Home for Mom"
My mom is 89. She moved to Atria from The Villages in February after surgery in December. Her health is good, but she can’t keep up a home and doesn’t drive anymore. Atria is the perfect place for her at this stage of life. She’s more active and excited about each day than she has been in years. Atria’s staff, activities, location, and value are a blessing. They celebrate life, include family, and treat residents with respect. Thank you, Atria and A Place for Mom, for helping us find this wonderful community.

"It's Alright at Facility, But Could Use Some Improvement"
Everything's alright, but it's not perfect at this living facility. They're doing an okay job, but they need to ramp up the energy with their activities. There's not much keeping the residents active, and the timing for everything seems off. Attention to detail could be better. They seem short-staffed, especially over the weekends. We've noticed they aren't used to active family involvement. Despite this, they're trying to make changes and work with us. The food is good and the place is clean. Also, it's great that they let residents interact with people on the independent living side, when they can.

"Stay Active in Your Loved One's Care!"
The outdoor area is really nice and the part for people who can live on their own is good too. But, the care for those with memory issues could be improved. There isn't a lot of focus on small details and not much energy, which leads to a pretty dull place for folks who aren't as affected. I'd tell anyone with a family member in the memory care section to spend a lot of time there and make sure that everything needed is being provided.

I think the place is really nice. It has a calm, quiet feel. The new resident orientation could have been better; maybe the guide wasn’t feeling well. The staff is friendly, and the place is clean. "Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
There's plenty to do here, but the rooms are cozy. The building's old-fashioned, like a hotel or an East Coast house. It's got dark wood and hardwood floors, but it's a bit plain no art on the walls. There are lots of activities, but the activity room didn't fit Mom's vibe. It's tough to judge from just one visit. They've got a pool, which is cool for water exercises, but Mom's scared of swimming. The place and the folks are great, but it's not right for Mom.

"They've Made Dad Feel Welcome - Staff a bit Unreachable"
They've truly made my dad feel at ease. He thinks of it as his home now - they've made him feel very welcome. Getting in touch with the office staff can be a bit tricky though. They don’t have voicemails, which makes it hard to contact them. Dad really likes the food and he's quite happy with the care he gets.

"Very close to me and my sister"
This place is really close to me and my sister. It has most of the same stuff other places have. There are lots of open spaces. The studio is the perfect size with a kitchenette. Every room has a balcony or patio. It’s comfortable and clean. The staff is friendly and easy to talk to. Mom could start in independent living. Assisted living is expensive, but she doesn’t need that level of care right now. I’m a little worried about her needing to walk more, but I think it would be good for her. There’s a pool where she could do water aerobics! They have bingo and ice cream every afternoon! She would love it.

"Mixed feelings: Assisted living with friendly staff, inconsistent services"
The place is a bit old but it's kept up well. Outside areas are nice for walking and sitting. The one-bedroom apartments are small but have enough closets. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They seem to know everyone. My suggestion is they should help new people more with joining the community. My mom had trouble with info when she first came, which made her feel bad. The food is okay. Sometimes it's not hot or what we asked for, and we wait a long time. The waiters don't always understand or check what we want. The laundry rooms are too small and there's only one washer and dryer, so we wait a long time.

"Best Assisted Living Facility"
Out of the three places I visited today, this one stood out as the best. The location is nice, and even though it's a bit older, the staff is willing to help with the transition from assisted living to memory care. The residents seemed happy—they waved and said hello. I also liked the look and size of the apartments. I think Mom would like it here.

"Accommodating But Room For Improvement at Atria Willow Glen"
Atria Willow Glen is pretty much a solid choice for older folks suffering from dementia. Every day, there are group activities that help exercise both the mind and body. At the back, there's a big and relaxing courtyard with plenty of shade from trees. When the weather is friendly, they hold a lot of activities outdoors. They're reliable when it comes to administering medications and keeping their residents clean. However, there are a few drawbacks. Firstly, I don't really think their food is the best, and the servings aren't exactly large. Plus, during meal times or activity periods when residents are on the lower floors, they usually end up using a single-toilet communal bathroom which can get dirty if a cleaner doesn't get there in time. Also, many bedrooms house 2 or 3 people and share a single bathroom. Another issue is the lack of air conditioning in every bedroom. I brought this up, and they did put an air conditioner in my husband's room, but it took 2 or 3 months.”

"Less Than Cordial Staff, No Covered Parking"
When I visited this place, I didn't think the staff were very nice to the residents. It seemed as if some people were overlooked. Also, they don't have sheltered parking, so your car might get piled with snow or rain.

"Much Better Since the New Chef!"
When my mom first moved in, the food was terrible and the dining wasn’t great. But ever since they hired her, the new master chef, everything has been awesome. They used to put a lot of salt in the food, but they’re cutting that down now. My mom loves the place. She says it’s worth the cost. She goes on the driving trips, which are nice, but they need another van because there are only 13 seats, and it fills up fast. Some people who sign up don’t get to go, but they’ve said they’re working on it. The only problem was the dining, and they’re fixing that. They also need a bigger dining room for all the people there.

"Home-like atmosphere"
We chose Atria because it's only 10 minutes from my house, making it very convenient. The atmosphere here feels like a home, not like an institution. My mom will share an apartment with two older ladies but will have her own room, which lets her bring some of her own furniture. They offer different levels of care, so it's a place where she can stay as her needs change. The menu looks like it has a lot of meal options. My sister and I felt this was the best place for our mom.

"Spacious Rooms, Nice Dining Options"
I liked the garden area and the dining choices. However, I'm unsure about the separate dining space for memory care residents. The residences are in two-story buildings, with rooms arranged in a typical hallway layout. The one-bedroom apartment was larger than those at Belmont Village. You can bring your own furniture. The overall decor is okay, but not as fancy as Belmont. For memory care, it's $7,500 per month if you move in by February. The rate will increase to $9,000 per month in 2014, with an average yearly increase of 5%.

Very nice. The landscaping is beautiful. The apartment is small, especially the bathroom. The main concern is the long walk from the apartment to the dining area for meals. The outdoor parking isn't close. I didn't try the food, but the chef gave us a pie to take home.
