"Belmont Village Encino: Exceptional Care!"
I really like Belmont Village Encino because the staff is caring, and they check in to make sure everything is okay. It's the best place for great care all around! I'm thrilled we got my mom in there!

"Great Facility, but Rude Boss Treats Staff Poorly"
We visited this place a few weeks ago with my cousin. The place is really great - super clean, the workers are really friendly. We were having a great time until we saw something really sad. I was hunting for the bathroom when I heard a woman yelling at a worker in a really mean way. I asked another worker who she was and they told me she was their boss. They even said that she's always like that and they've gotten used to it. Being someone who works in HR, this really bothered me. Just wanted to share what happened with you. This place is beautiful, the workers are nice, but if this is how they're treated, I wouldn't let my family stay there. I can't imagine how they would treat my loved one who has dementia.

"Belmont Village Encino: A Good Fit with Some Caveats"
The staff at Belmont Village Encino are super friendly and helpful. Every single person on the staff is great. Overall, I'd suggest this place to others, but with a few things to keep in mind. It might not be the absolute best, but for us, it's the best fit.

"Poorly Managed Assisted Living Facility"
The reason we’re giving this place a 2-star review is because our family was promised services for our elderly parent that they couldn’t actually provide. We thought there’d be plenty of staff to help our father, but that’s not the case. We paid extra for ‘enhanced care,’ but when we visit, Dad is dirty, his breath smells bad, and his clothes are often grimy. The comforter on his bed hides disgustingly filthy sheets! Plus, scheduling free transportation isn’t easy. Doctor appointments are only available on specific days, and you have to book them weeks in advance. In summary, this place might be okay for independent folks, but it falls short for those who need assistance. The programs seem good for active residents, but the food is surprisingly unappealing and not very nutritious. Lots of chips, grilled cheese, hot dogs, burgers, and quesadillas – not what we expected. Even though Dad isn’t picky about food, he doesn’t like what they serve.

"Great Staff but Very Expensive"
The people here are really nice. It's super, super expensive unless you're really rich. If I had the money, I might stay here myself.

"Decent rooms but a bit dark. Okay facility, high price."
The rooms were alright in size, but kinda dark. The place felt kinda like home. It was alright, outside space was fine too. But, the price was a bit much, and they don't let you bring someone from outside for walks or stuff.

"Frustrating Experience at Assisted Living Facility, Resulting in High Costs"
My mom stayed here, and it was pretty good at first. The Circle of Friends program they had was great but not when your family member gets sicker. Once, my mom left the building by herself and was lost for hours. Another time, they lost track of her in the facility, like it was her fault. Then, they demanded I move her to Memory Care within 4 hours, calling me in the morning and saying I need to be there by noon. I didn't have time to consider other options, so I did what they asked. This was the most unprofessional experience I've had, plus they tried to medicate her despite her doctor's advice and never responded to the doctor's calls or letters. They even made her have round-the-clock caregivers in Memory Care. There, they even dressed her in another's clothes more than once. Hard to believe, given she had caregivers all the time. Our bill for that month was a whopping 24K, three times more than what we expected to pay. I moved her out soon after. I strongly dislike this place, and wouldn't recommend it unless you somehow know your loved one won't get any sicker. All experiences vary, but for us, this was a disaster.

"Unless You're Positive Their Health Won't Decline, Avoid This Place!"
My mom was in this assisted living place for a bit, and at first it was okay. Their program, Circle of Friends, was great. But when my mom's health got worse, they just couldn't handle it. She even wandered off a few times, and they didn't even know she was gone! Then they called me early one day and told me I had to move her by noon to a part of the facility called Memory Care. I was so rushed I couldn't even look for another place. To top it all off, they wanted to put her on meds our brain doctor didn't agree with. Even when the doctor tried to get in contact, they ignored him! And after we moved her to Memory Care, they made us have full-time caregivers for her. Somehow, she still ended up in someone else’s clothes. With the added caregivers, our bill came to an absurd $24,000 that month - triple what we started with. I couldn't handle it, so I moved her again. This place was a nightmare, I really hate it and I wouldn't wish it on anyone - unless you're sure your loved one's health won't get worse. Everyone's experience may vary but ours was dreadful.

"Belmont Village Restored My Mom's Joy and Health!"
I moved my mother to Belmont Village in Encino after her cognitive skills quickly declined. Before that, she had been living independently in Northridge for over 5 years. I had hired aides 24/7, but her condition got worse, so I moved her to another assisted living facility in the same complex, which was neglectful. I had to move her again within a month. After looking at many places, we found Belmont. If your loved one’s cognitive health is declining, Belmont is the best place. They offer 5 levels of care based on cognitive needs. Their Circle of Friends program, with daily interactive activities, helped my mom improve greatly in just 4 days! She started exercising daily after not doing it for 3 years. The staff, led by Executive Director Cynthia and Assisted Living head Elizabeth, work hard to engage my mom. They even helped her make new friends! After a month, she went from spending her days alone and watching TV to being a lively 88-year-old excited about life again. I highly recommend Belmont Village!

"Smooth transition for parents; caring staff and excellent communication."
We picked Belmont because they offer great care, just what we wanted for my folks. They provide assisted living and a middle stage before memory care, all in one place. We're glad they can stay in the same community. The place is super clean, which we like. The staff is great at keeping us informed about my parents. Most of them have been there for a long time, which we appreciate because it means less change. My folks are getting used to their new home, and the staff encourages them to join activities. Though we live far, we'll visit soon. Both my husband and I had dinner there with my parents, and the food was delicious. Also, big thanks to our advisor at A Place For Mom, who helped us a lot through this process.

"Spacious and Well-Maintained Senior Living with Personal Touch"
After visiting this community, I found it to be like a fancy place for older folks. It's really big and spread out. Inside, everything looks beautiful and they keep it in good shape. The people who work there seem to know the folks who live there, and the folks who live there know the staff pretty well too. I appreciate how they know everyone by name, not just by what they look like or how much help they need. For my mom, though, it didn't feel quite right. She needed a place that's smaller and where she could get more personal attention.

"Luxurious and Welcoming"
After touring this community, I must say it feels like a very high-end place for seniors. The area is pretty big and spread out, but it’s well maintained and beautiful inside. The staff seems to really know the residents, and the residents seem to know the staff well too. I like that they know the residents by name, not just by face or care level. For my mother, it just didn’t seem like the right fit. She needed a smaller place with more hands-on, one-on-one interaction.

"Consider smaller, quieter, closer options. Good food, clean facilities."
This place was bigger and louder than we wanted, and it was farther away too. But the people who greeted us were friendly, and everything looked tidy. The meals were tasty, but they didn't have the kind of rooms we wanted when we went to check it out.

"Almost Perfect: A Great Choice for Mom"
Belmont Village is really close to perfect. I'm giving it a 4.5 star rating because nothing is completely perfect. My mom is very happy there, and both the community and the administration have been great to work with. She’s made lots of friends and stays as busy as she wants with all the activities they offer. Everything turned out really well, and we’re really pleased with choosing Belmont for my mom.

"Belmont Encino poses risks and hazards for the elderly"
Watch out! Belmont Encino isn't what it seems. It's not safe to put your loved one in this place. My mom used to live there and their nurses clearly didn't know what they were doing. They messed up on her medicine several times, causing us to have meetings with their team and an ombudsman. Consequently, they had to cut my mom's monthly bill multiple times. Even worse, one nurse left my mom alone in her room when she was really sick. I arrived later to find her confused, shaky and barely able to stand. This wasn't like my mom at all who was normally clear-headed and walked just fine with her walker. I was really scared and took her straight to her doctor; he ended up calling 911 and she had to be rushed to Tarzana Hospital and put into their ICU. The next day, I was told she would pass away unless she was put on life-support. Thankfully, she did make it but never went back to Belmont Encino. I asked for a meeting with the staff and the ombudsman about the terrible care my mom got from their nurse on that awful day when she was so sick. The ombudsman said the nurse hadn't done her job right. But the staff didn't take any blame at all. In short, I think Belmont Encino is a harmful place for old folks. My mom's now in a different assisted care home with good care where she's always being watched. Now, I finally can sleep peacefully at night.

"Belmont is perfect for mom with great activities and staff!"
My mom moved to Belmont from a board and care place. In just one week, she's done more than she did in two years there. She loves the classes, the planned outings, and the nightly movies. The dining room is like a restaurant with lots of choices! The staff has been amazing during her transition, showing care and kindness.

"Great Care at Belmont Village!"
Belmont Village Encino is really nice. My parents went there, and my mom had a fall, but it wasn't anyone's fault. She had to go to the hospital. My dad has serious memory problems, and he was alone there while my mom was at the hospital. The staff took great care of him. The food was good, and they met all their needs. Now they're both in intensive rehab, hoping to come back to Belmont Village. They even encourage my dad to do things there. Overall, it's been a good experience.

"Loved the tour and the location is perfect"
I enjoyed the tour and love how close it is to my house. The residents seemed really happy, and the rooms looked great. I liked all the activities and the Circle of Friends program. I’m just worried she might focus on her dog and not join in for a few weeks. She’s used to a slower pace in Oregon, so I hope the nearby busy freeways and Ventura Blvd won’t stress her out.

"Mom Thriving at Belmont Assisted Living"
My mom couldn't drive anymore, so she stayed home alone. I felt lost with so many places for seniors until I found A Place for Mom. A staff helped us by asking lots of questions. Then, she sent a list of affordable options. We visited places and revised the list together. When we stepped into Belmont, Mom knew it was perfect for her. She's happy, made new friends, and I'm relieved knowing she's well cared for.
