"High Praise for Belmont Village San Jose Assisted Living Facility"
We really like Belmont Village San Jose. The best parts are the food, the "circle of friends," and the activities they offer. We think other families would enjoy it too, based on our experience.

"Lacking outdoor space; buildings too similar, confusing for residents."
The place was getting fixed up, but we couldn't go outside, which was a bummer for our family member. Also, all the buildings looked alike, like those apartments downtown, and we were worried it might make it hard for our loved one to find their way around.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
My mom and dad share a room. She has memory problems, but he doesn't. He ends up helping her more than he should. Despite this, my parents are happy living there. The activities are fun and keep everyone busy. The food is really good. Most of the time, my parents feel safe and have a good time. I just wish the staff would do more for my mom's needs.

"Mixed Feelings about Assisted Living for Alzheimer’s Care"
It’s good for Alzheimer’s care, but rooms are small. They offer lots of memory and physical care options. Mom thinks not having a stove is a dealbreaker. She might not be ready for this yet.

"Belmont Village review"
Both of my parents have resided her for more than 6 years, and have received outstanding services and support from the staff and care givers. The director is an outstanding leader and runs the village in an outstanding way. There is no better care that our parents could have received, and we couldn't be happier.

I'm not entirely sure how I would have learned to cope with the failing health of my family member without the help from the excellent staff of Belmont Village in San Jose. The staff is attentive and always makes time for me.

"Warning: Unprofessional Management Ruins Quality of Assisted Living Facility"
Don't choose this place!! The manager here is incredibly unprofessional, emotional, and not strong enough to manage this job. Sadly, you can feel those negative vibes all over the place and it takes a toll on all the residents, including my elderly mom who's been living here for 6 weeks. She's been sweating in her room because the air conditioner's stuck on heater mode. Even though my mom and another resident 4 rooms down have reported this and requested for it to be fixed, it's still a no-go. My mom is supposed to have help with taking baths and brushing her teeth, but it doesn't happen. I feel so bad whenever I visit her and find her with dirty clothes and in need of a bath. I end up helping her myself. It's not enough what they do. They do not have any proper counselors to assist with emotional support that my mom really needs right now. Instead, there are unexperienced, but friendly, underpaid workers who check on them. The manager has even harassed my family and interrupted a private family matter. He crossed his rightful boundaries when he wouldn't let my mom and me talk to the head nurse privately. If his boss is reading this, please fire him! I wish I could give more than one star because there are some good staff here and the food and place are okay. Though, until they change the management, this place is going to continue to suffer. The cost is high and only worth it if the management wasn't bad. I wouldn't recommend you send your loved ones here unless the management changes. You'll see vacancies here, but better look for other places. Consider yourself warned!

"Close-knit, but too far from family: Belmonte Village Review"

"Great care and fun activities for loved ones!"
I'm really happy with the staff here. They do their best to take good care of my loved one. She also has lots of chances to join activities, and she’s even in a group called Circle of Friends, which helps people with dementia. We’re very satisfied!

"Stay Away: Belmont Facility Fails to Deliver Quality Assisted Living."
Choosing this place was a huge blunder. We brought my mom here thinking she'd be taken care of. They promised us that everything we needed was here, and we wouldn't need to seek out separate care. Yet, my mom, who was pretty independent, took a hard hit in both health and morale after joining Belmont. Her health has spiraled downwards instantly. By the second day, they told us she needed a personal carer 24/7. She's become restless, the food isn't satisfactory, and the staff? They're nothing short of a disappointment. It feels like they are inadequate and clueless. We've noticed residents wandering into other's rooms and even stealing their clothing while the room owner is asleep. When we reported this, nothing changed. My mom is falling so often, whether or not there is a carer. I would strongly advise against considering this place for a loved one. It's a literal nightmare and I can't wait to get my mom out.

"Decent facility but food quality needs improvement."
Belmont has been okay for my mom. The staff is fine. However, there's a problem with the meals. Last night, they gave her cold food and raw snap peas. Besides that, everything else is alright, so I'd suggest it.

"Amazing care and support at Belmont Village of San Jose"
I don't usually write reviews, but Belmont Village of San Jose is amazing. My father-in-law moved there about 6 weeks ago, and we're so glad we chose this place. He gets excellent care, and the staff treats everyone with respect and genuine concern. The staff from Community Relations has been incredibly caring and helpful, making a stressful move much easier for all of us.

"Dad Enjoys Belmont Village with Great Food and Activities"
Dad has been at Belmont Village for a while now and is still getting used to it, but he seems to be doing well. The staff and his new friends there really help him feel comfortable. He has been on scenic drives with the community and loves movie nights. Dad is a big fan of the food and says there’s always enough for seconds and thirds! The staff are very responsive and even send us pictures of Dad to keep us updated. We’re really happy with Belmont Village and would definitely recommend it.

"Review of Premier Assisted Living Facility Santana Row Area"
I really liked this place. It's like the Cadillac of assisted living. The staff is kind and patient, and it's close to Santana Row. The Circle of Friends program is great because it has 4 levels for aging in place. The only downside for us is the price, but it's all-inclusive.

"Comfortable Living, Lacking Variety: A Review of Belmont Villages San Jose"
My dad, who has trouble with thinking, enjoys living here. The staff are nice and take care of everyone well. They're always cheerful. The food is yummy, and the rooms are big. But, Dad wishes there were more activities. He's tired of seeing the same musicians all the time. Also, he feels left out of the card games because they're all for ladies. So, he spends a lot of time alone in his room.

"Absolutely Delighted with Care and Attention"
The Belmont organization made moving our mom into her new home really easy. They recommended a moving company that handled everything, even helping me set up her room and hang pictures. The friendly staff welcomed our mom right away, introducing her to her Circle of Friends group while we were moving her things. She was doing so well that we got to show her the fully set-up room before we left. After waiting a few days to check on her, we found she had made lots of friends and was smiling and having a great time. Now, three months later, I'm so happy with how things are going. The care and attention she's receiving are even better than I hoped, which is a huge relief for me and my family.

"Mom Thrives in Belmont San Jose’s Caring and Effective Community"
Our mom has lived at Belmont San Jose since the start of the year. She was experiencing a fast and unusual decline in her dementia, probably from Alzheimer’s, which had even her doctors confused. Finding "a place for mom" quickly became our top priority during Christmas 2014. Our stressful situation turned into a pleasant surprise when the skilled team at Belmont San Jose assessed her condition. They recognized her advanced state but believed her personality and strong will would fit well into their Circle of Friends community. Our research, mostly thanks to 'A Place for Mom' .com, showed that Belmont communities have a proactive and effective approach to dementia care. I’m happy to say I fully agree. Memory care residents are not locked away but are mixed with regular residents. They have PALS who keep an eye on them and make sure they join in daily activities or work, as my mom calls it to keep both their bodies and minds active. Our whole family agrees that she is much happier and healthier since moving into the Belmont community.

"Adjustment Difficulties and Communication Lapses at Assisted Living Facility"
It's alright here. I guess it works for most folks. But, we're having a tough time settling in. The place is clean, and the staff are nice. Still, they aren't too good at sharing updates or giving news on time. My loved one's health seems to have gotten worse since moving in here. When we first toured, they looked on top of things. Now, it's like no one knows what's going on. Questions don't get answered quickly, and they always need to check with someone else. Honestly, I'm not too impressed.

"Clean, friendly, and well-maintained with some elevator issues"
I'm really happy with this place. I chose it for three reasons. First, they had a spot open. Second, the place is clean and doesn't smell like a hospital. Third, I didn't feel pressured by marketing. Everyone I talked to, including the residents, was very friendly. Plus, it's only fifteen miles from my house. My mother says they always keep her busy. The only thing I don’t like is that there are only two elevators. It can be tough if there are five or six wheelchairs, so there’s often a wait for the elevators. The rooms are nice and very accommodating. They even let me borrow a bed while we were moving her in and helped me get bedding. The carpets are new and spotless. The place has a good feel to it.

"Great place with a few activity tweaks needed!"
Belmont Village has been wonderful. I gave the activities a slightly lower rating because they could use a bit more variety. Maybe they could have some guest speakers or other intellectually engaging options. They do offer lots of BINGO and Bunko, though. The food is excellent! We’ve eaten there several times and they offer a good range of healthy choices.

"Assisted Living Visit: Similar to Belmont Sunnyvale, Lacks Outdoor Space"
Visited on November 22. Really similar to Belmont Sunnyvale. Very nice. Just like Belmont Sunnyvale, they have a Circle of Friends program. Caregivers seem really dedicated; residents seem happy. One downside—maybe a big downside—there's not much outdoor space. No gardens to mention. I think my mom would miss this a lot. But they do have availability.

"Affordable Luxury Assisted Living: Organic Food, Happy Hour Daily"
This place costs a bit more, but they give you healthy food, which is nice. They also have a fun happy hour every day. After a point, you're just paying for fancy stuff like chandeliers. The cost changes, and the rooms aren't all alike. You could pay less, but then you'd get a small room.

"Great Place, Just Too Lively for Mom"
Belmont Village is a great place. It’s like a high-rise hotel with elevators to reach all floors, which are around 7 or 8 stories high. Parking is underneath the building. It’s a really nice place, but we decided not to choose it for our mom. She prefers a smaller, quieter environment and isn’t as active as the residents here. If she were more active, this would have been a good fit. They do have a program called Circle of Friends that lets residents from memory care join in with assisted living residents, which helps with socializing. Overall, it’s a very nice place, just a bit too lively for our mom.

"Nice high rise by Santana Row with great amenities and views"
This assisted living facility is in a tall building next to Santana Row. The place is very nicely decorated. The rooms are arranged in a typical hallway layout, similar to a good hotel. They have a nice restaurant, and the memory care service costs over $9,000 a month. There are great amenities, and you can enjoy outdoor patio or balcony areas on the upper floors.
