"Luxurious but pricey assisted living with misleading sales tactics."
This place is really nice, but it costs a lot. If your loved one needs help every day with things like bathing and dressing, the total bill could be as high as $12,000 to $14,000. That's way more than we can afford. I agree with another person who said they don't always give you accurate information about the rooms and fees. They also make it seem like you have to be affiliated with UCLA (like being a graduate or an employee), and they might tell you there's only one room available when there are actually several. Then, magically, a week later, they'll call you to say another room just opened up. It seems like making sales is more important to them than caring for your loved one. The fee to move in was $25,000. But despite all that, it's a really nice place with lots of fun things to do and good food.

"Costly with high fees, but offers excellent amenities"
This place is really nice but way too expensive for us. They make it seem like there's only one room available and that you have to be connected to UCLA somehow. Then, surprise, they tell you another room is open. It's like they care more about selling than about the people moving in. The move-in fee is really high, at least it was a few years ago. But, they do have fun stuff to do and the food is good.

"Great tour, too far"
I liked this place when we took our tour. The people we met were nice, and it looked clean. It was just a little too far away for us.

"Not a good fit for us."
This place didn't feel right to us. It cost a lot and was too big with 200 residents in Assisted Living. Most importantly, we didn't like feeling like we were in a hotel. We won't be taking my parents there for a visit.

"Expensive, Overcrowded Facility Feels More Like Hotel"
We didn't really connect with this place. It was quite costly and overly large, having 200 people in Assisted Living. Plus, it just felt like we were stuck in a hotel. I don't plan on bringing my folks here for a look.

"Disappointing Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The place seemed nice at first. Staff were friendly but seemed too eager to impress. We had lunch with residents before our tour. The food was good. Then we saw the common areas, theater, and library. When I asked to see the apartments, they hesitated. They said there was nothing available, but we could wait-list. The only one we could see was the smallest. It was shocking. It looked like a cheap apartment. The living area, bedroom, and bathroom were all tiny. They said it was $9,100 per month! I couldn't believe it. They said we'd have to wait about three months for an apartment. The outdoor area was next to an old, poorly maintained pool. Overall, very disappointing.

"Review of Expensive, Underwhelming Assisted Living Facility"
" The place is in a great spot and the building looks nice. The people who work there are friendly, but it felt like they tried too hard to make us happy. They invited us to eat with the other people living there before showing us around. The food we ate was super good. After, they showed us where everyone hangs out, their movie room, and their library. I wanted to see what the apartments looked like, but it seemed like they didn't want to show us. They told us a) no apartments were available right now, but we could get on a waiting list, and b) the only open apartment was the smallest one. We took the elevator up to see it, and I was shocked at how it looked. The first room had pretty cheap flooring on one side with a basic kitchen set up on the other. It looked more like a lower-income apartment than something fancy we were expecting. The rest of the apartment had cheap, rough carpet. The living room was small, the bedroom was tiny with a small, standard closet, and the bathroom wasn't eye-catching. They told us it would cost $9,100.00 every month. I don't know how much it would cost with extra help or how much a bigger apartment would be. They did say the soonest we could move in would be in about three months, but maybe sooner for a larger apartment. I don't know why they didn't put more effort into making the apartments nicer, especially for that price. When we were leaving, we looked at the outside area by an old, run-down swimming pool. It didn't make us want to hang out there.

"Facility Offers Pool and UCLA Talks, Feels Like a Hotel"
This place has a pool. But it feels more like a hotel than a home. It offers large, 2-bedroom apartments and engaging talks from UCLA lecturers. The monthly rent for these 2-bedroom apartments, along with independent living services, is $7275, plus a small extra charge for personal care if required.

"Attentive staff and excellent care for active residents"
My dad needs memory care but is more active and aware than many others here. This place is very good compared to others we’ve tried. They do their best for his needs. The staff are attentive, caring, and quick to respond to any questions or suggestions.

"Impressive, well-run, but possibly too expensive"
We only toured the first floor at Belmont Village of Westwood due to a virus outbreak. The residents had to stay in their rooms, so we didn’t get to see the apartments or other common areas upstairs. What we did see was impressive—very clean, high-end, and well-managed. I liked how much thought went into the design of the community. I also loved the continuing education classes available through their connection with UCLA. My boyfriend and I were ready to sign up! But the price might be a challenge.

"Great Care, Clean Place, Views Possible"
I really liked it . The place is a bit far, and the outdoor pool is small, which might be hard to use in winter. However, they provide great dementia care, and the facility is very clean and nice. The residents seem content and well cared for, and there's a chance to get a room with a view.

"Affordable but impersonal assisted living on busy street."
This place costs more and it's by a busy road. The people who work there weren't as nice. It's a big building with many people living in it. It seemed like you wouldn't get that special attention. Inside it looked good but not as fancy as somewhere else. It's a nice place, but my mom wouldn't feel comfortable there.

"Costly, Busy, and Impersonal: Mom Wouldn't Feel Cozy Here"
This place costs more and it's located on a busy road. The workers didn't seem too friendly. It's a huge place with many people living there. It feels like you wouldn't get a personal connection. Inside was nice, but not as cozy and luxurious as another spot. It was a good place, but my mom wouldn't be comfortable there.

"Disorganized Assisted Living: Not Recommended for Coordinated Care"
My friend and her husband stayed at this place for about a year. He had Alzheimer's and stayed in the secured facility nearby, while she lived in the assisted living section. I was in charge of finding them a place, but I really disliked this one. It was terrible! Honestly, I can't think of anything positive to say about it. The building itself is quite impressive. It's pretty new and looks like a fancy hotel. However, during their stay, they had multiple changes in administration and activities coordinators—about three or four of each. The staff individually seemed fine, but it felt like they never communicated with each other. It was as if one hand didn't know what the other was doing. With such a large facility and constant turnover, they never seemed to get their act together. The lack of organized care was awful. I would strongly advise against recommending this facility to anyone.

"Complete Disarray: Stunning Facility, Zero Organization"
My friend and her spouse spent more than a year in that place. He had Alzheimer's and was in the secure section, and she was in assisted living. I despised it. It was awful and I have no positive feedback. Indeed, the facility is breathtaking. Quite recent and comparable to a luxury hotel. However, during their stay, they had 3 to 4 different managers and activity organizers. The staff individually were okay, but the lack of communication was alarming. Like the left side didn't know what the right side was up to. Due to the facility's large scale size and continuous staff changes, they never seemed organized. The lack of synchronized care was terrible. I absolutely would not recommend this place to anyone.

"Amazing Administrative and Nursing Staff"
My mom stayed here for a short time under hospice care, so she didn’t get to enjoy all the activities they offer. The activities looked great, but she couldn’t use them. I interacted a lot with the administrative staff, and they were amazing! The nursing staff and caregivers were also fantastic; they were a 10!

"Expensive Assisted Living Service Attracts Rich, Intelligent Residents"
This place is pricey attracting wealthier, smarter folks. The staff are awesome. They offer intriguing talks and other events. You can also have your own apartment. For example, a two-bedroom suite might cost about $6,000 every month. They offer varied services, starting from independent living to assisted living.
