"Great Memory Care with Active Lifestyle and Excellent Services"
This place is really clean. The person who runs the Memory Care part is awesome. If I could rate her higher, I totally would. They do laundry and clean the house twice a week. There are always things to do here, like activities and exercise.

"Chose Livelier Community Over Outdated Brookdale"
When we visited Brookdale Anaheim, it felt really old-fashioned. It didn’t seem as tidy as the place we picked, and there weren’t many fun things to do. I think the folks living there were much older and needed more help than what my mom needs. The place we decided on has people who are still full of life. They dress up nice, they like to look good, and they’re happy there. That’s why we went with a different place instead of Brookdale.

"Great Assisted Living with Pet-Friendly Amenities!"
I recommend this place. It’s missing a waiver for social security folks, though. Housekeeping and laundry happen once a week. The food is really good, and they offer transportation to doctor appointments. The building has three floors, and pets are allowed.

"Great Staff, But Some Safety and Design Issues"
There are some good things and some bad things. Some things have bothered me, but I think this is the safest place for my loved one right now. He would disagree, but he's going through some big changes in life. One thing he doesn't understand is why the floor is just thin carpet on concrete, so every time he falls, he hits hard. One thing that bothers me is the bathroom. The only support rods are big, smooth ones at an angle. If your hand is a little damp, you slide. I think that's a problem with government planning, but it doesn't make sense for any healthcare place to use that. Also, in the building diagram, there's a large patio in the center. To get to the other side, you have to go around green space instead of a straight path. This is concerning for emergencies and bad weather. If you cut across, you pass by dog waste because people don't clean up after their pets. But my loved one's apartment is set up pretty well. We had to bring a lot of furniture, but they shared some things from their store room. The reception area and the staff there have been great. Even when I call, I get the same friendly people who do their job well. I like all the staff I've met; they're very friendly.

"Nice Staff, But Dark Interior and High Price"
The person who I talked to was really nice and pleasant. It's cool that they take care of both assisted living and memory care. I didn't really like that the inside of the building looked old and not bright, it kind of bummed me out. Eventually, I found another place that cost less and was neater inside.

"Great Assisted Living Option with Good Facilities and Availability"
Today, my sister and I checked out Brookdale Anaheim, and we liked it. Their Memory Care unit has space for 20 residents, and right now, there are open beds. Since my sister is very sociable, this place might be a better fit for her compared to the smaller place with just 6 residents. As for costs, both the smaller and larger facilities are quite pricey. The Memory Care setup seemed good for 20 residents with an activities room, dining area, a small sitting space for one-on-one therapy, and a patio. The room we saw was spacious enough for one person but would also be comfortable if shared. It had its own bathroom with a separate sink and shower, and the shower was large and easy to get into. Because of the distance, we plan to visit Brookdale Garden Grove and a few more places closer to home.

"Small, caring staff, perfect size for personal attention"
I picked Brookdale Memory Care because it's smaller. Other places were more modern but too big, and I worried my dad might get lost. Here, there’s a community feel, and the staff are really caring and helpful. It costs less than many other places too, but the main reason I chose it was the size. I believe he gets better, more personal attention here.

Things are going well for my mom since she moved to Brookdale. It’s not home, but it’s pretty close. I like visiting there. The place is clean and organized. There are some stains on the carpet, probably from the food service, but they do a deep carpet cleaning once a month. I’ve eaten there twice, and the meals are great—definitely a well-balanced diet. The doctors and nurses are nice. When I visit, they always have activities like music, Wii bowling, and other games. Whenever something breaks or we have an issue, they fix it right away. "Review of Emeritus Assisted Living in Anaheim A Satisfied Choice"
A few months ago, my sister and I realized that we couldn’t care for our 95-year-old mother anymore. With heavy hearts, I started looking for assisted living options for her. At that time, she was living in Carpinteria, CA with my sister. We decided to move her to the Anaheim area, where I live, so she could be closer to her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. I was directed to Emeritus in Anaheim and went to check it out. Everyone there was very friendly and answered all my questions. They have a memory care unit, which seemed like the best fit for our needs since my mother has dementia and had a stroke in January 2014. We moved her in mid-August. The first few weeks were tough for mom, but thanks to the caring and understanding staff, she has adjusted well and seems happy now. The only thing she complains about is that the showers are always too cold. My sister and I are really pleased with Emeritus. My only concern is that some of the caretakers could be more attentive. There is always room for improvement, but nothing is ever perfect. Overall, I’m happy with our choice and would highly recommend Emeritus.

"Inadequate Memory Care, Unpleasant Living Conditions"
Our hopes for this place were not met in reality. There were a ton of minor issues, and despite their best efforts, they just couldn't make it work. I think we need to search for a place that's more suitable. Our main concern was with the memory care specifically. Sadly, it's not a pleasant environment. It's very small and not appealing. Although clean, it's simply too tiny and feels crammed. The rooms themselves are barely furnished and just feel distasteful, that's the reason we're moving. The staff is alright, I suppose. However, they didn't seem to put much effort into engaging the residents in any activities.

"Amazing Staff and Fun Activities!"
We picked Emeritus because of the staff. They make the community special. The whole staff knows all the residents by name and they work great together. They act like a family and show their passion for what they do. They seem to really enjoy working here and caring for the elderly is their calling. We checked out 10 other places and narrowed it down to 3, then let my mom choose. The residents seem really happy and stay active. They offer a lot of activities and encourage residents to join, but they don’t force them. One fun activity is a Wii Bowling League where they compete against other communities. The residents love it and get really involved. They also have a Wii Bowling Tournament just for the residents here. My mom was thinking of moving to Arizona, but after seeing the property and talking with us, she decided to stay. She was recently diagnosed with dementia but is still very active. The community worked with us and let her stay in assisted living instead of the memory care unit, which gave her more chances to socialize. Because she is active and socializing, she is doing better than before. Before moving here, she was in a skilled nursing facility, and the staff from Emeritus would visit her every week just to say “Hi.” This made the transition easier because she already felt comfortable with them. She is used to being waited on quickly, so it’s taking her some time to adjust, but they explain things to her and help with anything she needs. They could make the transition even easier with a welcome package that has a checklist of things to do when moving in, so first-timers have a smoother transition. They offer great value because they provide more and better services for similar prices. We recommend it to any elderly person we talk to. We have a friend getting home care and have told her about this community, and she is thinking about looking into it. It’s located between Anaheim and Buena Park, about 5 minutes from the freeway, and you can see Knott’s Berry Farm from the community. We are very pleased and highly recommend it to anyone.
