"Location and Studio Unit Influence Assisted Living Choice"

I thought the assisted living facility was just okay. I've helped three other relatives who needed similar services, and they all faced challenges. Having a strong advocate to support the patient is crucial. We chose this facility mainly because of its location and the availability of a studio unit.

"Great Experience with Friendly Staff, but Picky Eater Challenges"

The Havens has been a good experience for my father-in-law and for us too. He likes living there and really enjoys the activities. But, he's a very picky eater, so the dining has been a bit disappointing for him. That's why we gave it four stars. The staff are friendly and very helpful with our needs. The staff in administration has been very helpful to us and a joy to work with. Overall, The Havens has been a good place for my father-in-law. He's made lots of new friends.

"Affordable Care Home with Caring Staff and Ongoing Upgrades"

My brother chose this place because it wasn’t too expensive, it’s in a good spot, and he liked it when he visited. It’s a pretty good place, but it’s not perfect. The food’s alright—not great, but it’s not terrible either. They don’t have a lot of people working there, but the ones who do work there seem like they really want to help. They’re fixing up the place, which is taking a long time, but you can see that it’s getting better because of it.

"A Solid Choice"

I'd advise folks to understand the care levels and the difference between oxygen tanks and concentrators for extra charges. Also, make sure residents get written updates on policies. Overall, I recommend The Havens at Antelope Valley.

"Mixed Experience: Friendly Staff, But Food Woes"

My mom lives here, and when I visit, the staff is super friendly. But the food? Yikes! It's confusing sometimes, and the wait staff needs training. They take forever to bring a pat of butter, seriously. Plus, they often run out of menu items.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living"

The people who live here and the staff are super friendly. The remodeling work is a bit chaotic they start new projects before finishing the old ones. Corporate decisions don't involve input from local residents. But the local staff genuinely care about making this a nice place for residents!"

"Attentive Staff Prioritize Residents' Needs"

Whenever you chat with a staff member, they listen carefully and work to fix your problem right away—making you feel like a top priority.

"Accounting Woes: A Big Fat Zero"

I liked the staff—they were friendly and helpful to my sister. But the business side of things was terrible. It took them three whole months to fix the money stuff, and even after we followed their rules and gave more than 30 days' notice, they still messed up. Their accounting department gets a big fat zero.

"Food is Fancy, Activities Not Appealing"

The food they serve is fancier than what my parents usually eat. The activities they offer aren't something my parents would enjoy.

"Smaller facility with fewer residents and helpful staff"

I was really impressed when I toured this place. It's smaller, so there are fewer residents for the staff to take care of. I liked that each unit has a stove so you can cook your own meals. Looking back, I think moving my friend here would have been a better choice. The facility was clean, and the staff seemed friendly and helpful.

"Thriving in Assisted Living"

My friend is really happy living here. It was a great decision for him. He enjoys it a lot and stays busy. He often goes to movie nights, plays bingo, or takes the bus to the store. He uses the van to go to the doctor's appointments. The staff is super friendly, nice, and helpful. He really enjoys the food; it's like eating at a restaurant.

"The best place for my dad’s care and happiness!"

I’ve been really impressed with this place. My dad moved in a week ago after living in our home for 60 years, so it’s been a tough transition for him. The staff listened and made great arrangements. After being alone for months since my mom passed, he’s now socializing every day. I hope I’m lucky enough to find a place like Brookdale Antelope Valley when I’m older.

"Great Experience with Friendly and Knowledgeable Staff"

I have to say, we were really impressed. The security and cleanliness were top-notch. The residents were out and about, looking happy. The representative we spoke with, was great. They were friendly, knew a lot, and showed us around. They even took the time to get to know us and my mom, even though she wasn’t there. It was a wonderful experience.

"Mom's care is top-notch!"

I’m really happy with the care my mom is getting here. The staff is wonderful and always nice to her. She enjoys the food, and there are lots of choices. She’s also joining in on the activities, which is great. The community is clean and well-maintained. I’d definitely recommend this place for its care and value.

"Great care in clean, friendly community for mom's needs."

My mom's getting awesome care here with nice helpers. They're so friendly and the place is always clean, which my mom really likes. She seems to enjoy the food and the different choices. It's a smaller place, just what we wanted. I feel much better knowing she's in good hands until we move. I totally suggest this place to others who want good care and value for their loved ones.

"Expensive, Unsupportive Experience for Loved Ones"

Watch out! Don't be tricked into thinking these people truly worrying about your elderly family member. It's all about the CASH for them. They'll bend over backwards to get you registered and take your money, but if there's an issue, your elderly loved one is completely left to fend for themselves. It was frightening and super expensive to see what my dad experienced in the short time he was there.

"Feeling Like Family from the Start"

About six months before we decided, my father and I visited the facility. From the start, we felt welcome, and all our questions were answered—even if we asked the same thing more than once. Over the next few months, I got updates about available apartments, upcoming events, and was always invited to come back. When we finally made the decision, we were welcomed like family. No question or concern was too small, which was really helpful since I live far away. I was encouraged to call and check on my father, and the staff have been wonderful in reassuring me that we made the right choice.

"Impressive facility; worth the search for Mom's new home."

Everyone at Brookdale Antelope Valley was very friendly and helpful. The building and grounds were impressive, looking more like a 5-star resort than an assisted living facility. The cost was very reasonable, cheaper than most of the other places we saw. I believe Mom will really like it once she gets used to the many activities available. All the current residents seemed happy and comfortable. The dining room was fantastic, with a great variety of balanced meals. Although we only ate with Mom once, the wait staff was friendly and efficient. After looking at many places, I think we made the best choice for Mom.

"Incredible Place; Wish My Dad Had Moved In"

Brookdale Antelope Valley is an incredible place. My dad chose not to move in, though. He often changes his mind. I wish he had moved there. It’s really fantastic, and I can’t think of anything they could improve.

"A Big Help for Her"

Brookdale Antelope Valley has been a big help. She is really happy there. It has opened her eyes a lot. She can hang out with people her own age. I can’t think of anything that could be better at this place. She likes it there.

"Perfect Place for Assisted Living in Lancaster!"

I think it's a fantastic place! We chose this facility for my grandfather because it suits him perfectly. If you’re searching for an assisted living community in Lancaster, CA, this is my top recommendation. I really recommend it! The facility is very clean, and the staff and residents are all friendly. The caregivers do an excellent job taking care of everyone. The value is great too, and there are lots of activities. My experience with Brookdale Antelope Valley was wonderful!

"Emeritus: Nice staff, clean, but room didn't suit parents. Helpful."

Emeritus was really nice with friendly staff. Everything was kept clean and tidy. The room they showed us was nice, but it wasn't exactly what my parents needed right now. However, they were willing to help us with everything else we needed, which was great.

"Overpriced and Understaffed Facility Fails to Deliver Promises."

This place is way too costly and seriously lacking in staff. It scores a big fat zero in terms of value for money. They don't offer any activities designed for people who can't see well. We were convinced to move here because their sales pitch was impressive, making a lot of promises. The quality of food is alright and they do manage to distribute medicines on time, but that's all. They don't deliver on most of their promises. The management is currently shifting, with a new company set to take over. The fees keep going up every month and it feels like nothing but complaints are heard from the residents.

"Mixed Feelings about Friendly Assisted Living Facility"

This place is pretty good. People are nice. Almost perfect, but one staff member was too much. They fired them though. A friend's parent is happy here, and the food is yummy. Only one hallway smelled bad.

"Facility Appreciated, High Costs Driving Residents Away"

My dear one enjoys their time there. However, it constantly changes ownership, and with each new company, the fees keep climbing! They now demand $11 per person just to visit and enjoy a meal. Plus, if the seniors prefer to have their breakfast delivered, they're charged an extra $5. Aside from the cost concerns, the staff is fantastic and genuinely cares for the residents. If residents skip two meals consecutively, or forget to press their morning wake-up button, staff immediately follow up. However, we've come to learn that due to the soaring costs, residents are starting to move out.

"Impressive Tour, But Not for My Brother"

My sister visited this place instead of me. She liked the tour a lot, but they can't take in my brother with a handicap. So, it won't work for us.
