"Despicable Management and Chaos Reigns at This Facility"
This place is totally ridiculous and the bosses are even worse. These folks should be really embarrassed. The whole establishment is just a silly mess and the head employees are not nice at all!!!

"Great Staff and Activities, Communication Needs Improvement"
This place has been really nice so far. The people who work here are very kind and friendly. Overall, our experience has been really good. The only problem we've had is with how they communicate internally about medications. I've had to stay on top of it to make sure they start or stop them when they should. Also, they don't call me to let me know things; I always have to call them. My advice is to get everything they promise you written down and stay on top of your medications. Besides that, everything else is great. The food here is really good, the people are friendly, and there are lots of activities to do. I just had to get used to not getting as much communication as I thought I would and make sure I ask about everything myself.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short in Care Responsibilities"
I thought they would help my husband's skin during baths. His legs got swollen, but they never told me. I was surprised and worried. If I hadn't been there, things might've turned out worse. So, I had to take him out.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living"
During my visit, the assisted living facility had great food and fun activities for residents. However, the staff neglected residents' needs, and the front desk secretary was rude. On the bright side, the activities coordinator was caring, and they allow pets.

We picked Brookdale Auburn 'cause it's near the hospital and our family. They made starting easy, good communication. I'd suggest them.

"Unsafe COVID Measures: Look Elsewhere for Senior Care"
Brookdale Auburn isn't taking COVID safety seriously. Staff sometimes ignore masks despite cases. Caregivers are great, but leadership needs improvement. Consider other places.

"Friendly, clean, and spacious assisted living community"
Brookdale Auburn is really nice and clean. The rooms are big and comfortable for the residents. Everyone was super friendly and gave me lots of helpful information when I first visited. We would definitely recommend this place to family or friends.

"Dismal Care and Unfulfilled Promises at Assisted Living Facility"
When my family and I went on the search for an assisted living center for my aging parents, we initially felt welcomed by the facility's management. However, we soon discovered that their warm reception was just a façade. Even though they promised us excellent care, the reality was pretty awful. Our phone calls were ignored despite their assurances to return them. The meals served were often cold. The workers were generally okay but there were a few incidents of theft, and we weren't sure whether it was the staff or other residents to blame. After enough bad experiences, we moved our parents to a different place. It's much better and cheaper over there, with great communication from the staff.

"Warm and Welcoming Assisted Living with Varied Activities and Services"
I think Brookdale is a really nice and friendly place. They're fixing it up with new paint and carpets everywhere in the common areas. It feels cozy, not too fancy. There are lots of things to do every day I mean, they were even having a Hawaiian party when I visited! The apartments are a bit small and don't have stoves in the kitchens. The rent starts pretty high at $3,595 plus a $2,000 initial fee. They offer services so you can stay there as you get older. The food menu has tons of choices every day and they mix it up a lot.

"High Costs for Memory Care"
I really liked this place, but it cost too much for us. Dad needs memory care, even though his dementia isn't severe.

"I toured here, but it wasn’t right for mom."
I toured this place, and the staff was super nice. They answered all my questions, and everything was clean and well-kept. It just wasn’t the right fit for my mom. I suggest families take a tour before choosing.

"Underwhelming Experience at Brookdale Auburn Assisted Living"
I recently moved into Brookdale Auburn out of quick necessity, but wish I had spent more time searching for a place. I haven't been too thrilled here. They seem to have a fee for any small request. I told them before I got here that I needed help with some personal cleanliness tasks but they haven't really helped out. It's not unusual for them to leave me by myself to put on clothes, or to be alone for a long time in the bathroom. There aren't enough staff; there are only two workers for two areas, and rest of the employees always seems to leave early claiming they’re “sick”. It's only been around 4 weeks that I have been here, and I'm already seeing these issues. Despite this, the food is really good. The kitchen team offers many choices which is nice. The lady who cleans the house is really diligent about keeping things neat, getting rid of trash regularly, and always does the laundry. They do have a few things to do like concerts and bingo games, but not long ago I saw a fight between two people living here and the staff didn’t stop it because they were waiting for the “boss”. The employees always seem rushed and don’t appear to pay attention to the wants and needs of us living here. It lacks a personal touch for all the cash that’s charged. If they don’t shape up, I won't suggest this place to anyone.

"Great Care and Activities Worth a Visit"
We enjoyed our tour of this place. The staff is friendly and helpful. They offer a variety of activities for everyone who wants to join. The community is clean and has a pleasant feel. They also have a good menu and plenty of activities. We were looking for a larger community, but we would suggest families check this one out for good care of their loved ones.

"Approval needed if under 70; Mostly Older, Less Active Residents"
You need to be 70 or older to get in without special permission. The people living here are usually around 85. This community isn't very active, it leans towards the older side.

"Feels like a 5-star resort!"
My loved one is doing great since moving here. The staff goes above and beyond to help us financially, and they’ve really worked with us. The facility feels like a 5-star resort, and they take excellent care of her. It’s been a perfect fit, and the other residents are very friendly.

"Tour Guided Well, But Facility Lacks Warmth"

"Spacious studios and caring staff!"
During our first tour, my mom really liked the lady who showed us around. She was friendly, answered our questions, and made us feel comfortable. Mom enjoys the spacious studio—it's just right for her. The staff encourages her to join activities, although she's still adjusting. I had lunch there once and was impressed by the food. While Mom is a bit pickier than I am, they do offer various meal options. My only suggestion is that some caregivers could be more understanding and compassionate toward the elderly.

"Happy with the care and comfort at this assisted living facility"
The food is good, and there’s a restaurant where you can pick meals from a menu. The staff are friendly and check on mom regularly. We have good communication with them, and they give her extra care when she needs it. They also help with her medication. The community is clean and well-maintained. We feel good about her being there.

"Good news, bad news"
This place is okay. The staff is really nice, but there's only one elevator for three floors, and no backup generator for power. The food is seriously lacking in taste and variety, plus it takes forever to get your orders at the table. Out of all the assisted living facilities in Auburn, this one is probably the best. But honestly, the food plays a big role in how satisfied people are here.

"Low-quality Care and Poor Communication at Brookdale Auburn"
My dad has had a few falls at this place, so I think their care is not great. The folks at Brookdale Auburn don't really talk well with us. They keep pushing for my dad to enter hospice care, but he's only been there for a month. He was supposed to get a hospital bed, but it hasn't shown up yet. So, some stuff is okay here, but a lot isn't.

"Subpar Conditions and Expensive Costs Plague Assisted Living Facility"
The starting cost for a double room with points is a staggering $4250, with hidden fees potentially increasing the final expense. Disproportionately regular healthcare is provided, as a blood pressure check is only administered once a week. If you need medical assistance more frequently, you must hire a dedicated nurse. It's also essential to bring your own bed, as cleanliness is clearly not prioritized, with disheveled floors greeting you on arrival. The interior of the memory care unit is in poor shape, marred with scratches. The overall aesthetic more closely resembles a clinical, institutional setup rather than a haven for self-paying residents. The administrator was conspicuously absent all day, engaged in meetings. For its high cost, the worn-down condition of the property is unacceptable.

"The chef is fantastic!"
We are really happy with our experience here so far. The previous place we tried cost more and had awful food. At Emeritus, everyone knows your first name, and every single staff member has been incredibly nice. I’ve never seen anyone being rude or unhappy here. The chef is fantastic. Some activities could be better, but the activities coordinator is super sweet and works really hard, always being kind to everyone.

"Excellent interaction, but unpleasant smell makes it a no-go"
The lady at Emeritus I had a chat with was great! She was really nice and sorted out all my questions. But, when the tour time came, a nasty smell was impossible to ignore, and for that reason, I had to rule it out as a choice.
