"Great intake, staff, and activities; needs better med paperwork."

The intake process was great. The staff were very knowledgeable about getting my loved one admitted into the community. It was a smooth, stress-free transition. This was a very good experience for both the family and my loved one. The staff is very responsive to phone calls from the family. If they have any questions, they reach out and have been great to work with. The activities include sit and be fit, crafts, gardening, musicians, mocktails, and more. My loved one wasn't exercising before, but now they are, which is impressive to me. The community provides medication management, bathing, dressing, and hygiene assistance. However, they won’t give my loved one a Tylenol without a doctor’s note. I wish they were more proactive in getting the necessary paperwork from the doctor for this medication.

"Inadequate Staffing and Poor Service at Assisted Living Facility"

The care here is terrible, there aren't enough staff and my family member is constantly left waiting for attention. The food is awful because they don't have enough people working in the kitchen and the food they do make isn't even edible. The people running the place don't act professional and the rest of the staff don't seem to know what they're doing.

"Great tour and friendly staff, but not the right fit"

I toured this place while looking for a home for my mom. They gave us a great tour and even invited us to stay for lunch. We met other staff members, and they were all friendly. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and showed us the community well. In the end, we decided not to move my mom in because it didn’t meet her needs, but it seemed like a nice place.

We feel so lucky to have found Brookdale! Everyone here, from the administrators to the cleaning staff, is incredibly kind, cheerful, and helpful. It’s the most caring and loving place I’ve ever seen. I would give it 10 stars if I could!

"Caring and Clean Assisted Living for Rehabilitating Loved Ones"

Our family member is getting rehab at Brookdale Fountaingrove. It's a clean, nice place. The staff are caring and really pay attention to him. They're friendly and keep me updated on how he's doing. He's in the part where they give skilled nursing and physical therapy. We're still deciding what's best for his future needs.

"We're Happy Here"

Our family member is getting rehab at Brookdale Fountaingrove. It's a really nice and clean place. The staff is super caring and pays attention to their needs. They're easy to talk to and always keep me updated about their well-being. Our loved one is in the skilled nursing section, receiving physical therapy. We're still figuring out the best fit for their future needs.

"Beautiful, Safe, and Spacious Assisted Living Facility"

There were lots of activity spots in the Clare Bridge unit. The “apartments” were clean, spacious, and nice. I really liked the patio area. Residents could go out one door into a safe area and come back in another door, feeling like they went somewhere. It’s a beautiful place and hopefully a home for our Mom.

"Okay Experience at Assisted Living"

My mom's getting used to it and kinda likes it, but dealing with the office is tough. They do things weird. The food isn't good. I'm worried, let's see how it goes.

"Mixed Feelings About Mom's Assisted Living Experience"

My mom is still trying to get used to her new surroundings and she seems to like the place. But dealing with the management has been tough. They do some strange things in their office that make me question their credibility. The food they serve isn't tasty either. I'm a bit worried, let's wait and see how it goes.

"Lackluster care, insufficient staff, food quality subpar."

The care for my mom wasn't good. Not enough staff. Food wasn't great. Friendly but untrained caregivers.

"Disappointed by Inadequate Care and Insufficient Staffing"

My mother's experience at the assisted living facility was not the greatest. They were supposed to take care of her properly, but she was often overlooked. Only two caregivers were assigned to one floor which felt inadequate. We were let down and displeased with the care she was receiving from them. Despite assurances they'd attend to her, it wasn't happening. I found myself having to spend long hours there because I felt uneasy about leaving her unattended. Additionally, the food was just not up to par. On a brighter note, the overall staff was kind and pleasant. However, the caregivers specifically, could use more training, and there didn't seem to be enough of them in the facility. But that's just my perspective.

"Understaffed Facility Fails to Properly Care for Patients"

My wife stayed at this place for temporary care, but it was overall a bad experience. They definitely need to hire more people. After just one week, they told me I had to employ additional staff to take care of my wife's needs. They couldn't even make sure she got her meds on time or in the right amounts. That's why I wouldn't suggest anyone take their loved ones to Brookdale Fountaingrove.

"Poor Staffing and Care at Brookdale Fountiangrove"

My missus was put up at this place for a short break, and let me tell you, it wasn't a good time. They're in desperate need of more workers because after one week, I had to pay for extra staff to look after her. She didn't get her pills on schedule or even the right amounts. I definitely can't suggest Brookdale Fountiangrove to anyone based on what we went through.

"Wonderful care brought my Aunt back to herself"

Brookdale has been a great place for my Aunt. She went from being mostly alone to feeling like herself again. The care she gets is amazing! The staff is wonderful and very caring.

"Neglected Facility with Uninformative Friendly Staff"

This place wasn't really clean and seemed old. It felt more like a nursing home than an assisted living center. The workers were nice, but they didn't give much information about the place.

"My Visit To The Community"

During our tour, this community seemed really nice. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the place looked clean. It's definitely a top choice for my loved one's memory care needs.

"Mother's Care Community Provides Excellent Service"

My mom is doing great since moving here. They take good care of her and make sure all her needs are met. The staff is awesome and always ready to help. Overall, it's been a great experience, and I'm happy with everything they've done for us.

"Friendly Staff, But Not Quiet Enough"

I visited this place, but it was too loud for what I wanted because the environment didn't seem peaceful. My husband needs a quiet atmosphere. The people who work there were very kind, and they did a great job answering my questions.

"Informative, But Not Quite Right For Mom Yet"

It's informative. Could be useful. But, I don't really picture my mom here yet.

"Nice Community Tour Not Quite What We Sought, But Friendly Staff"

I took a tour of this place, and it was good. The place looked nice and clean, and the people who worked there were nice and friendly. They were helpful and answered my questions. It wasn't exactly what we wanted, but it's still a nice place.

We're happy with this place. The staff is great and caring for my husband. He enjoys the meals and likes the variety. There are activities available. I highly recommend this place to other families.

"Brookdale Fountaingrove Review"

The staff was super helpful, offering a place to stay until our movers arrived. Caregivers were skilled and kind, always ready to assist. However, the dining menu left much to be desired—it was repetitive and limited.

"Terrible management results in subpar care"

My Mom was placed in this facility for expert nursing care. The employees genuinely tried their best, but the administration was awful. We had such a poor time with them that we relocated her. Unfortunately, they practically cut us off after we reported to the Ombudsman. It was really hard to get her into another place. It's such a bogus and depressing situation.

"They really helped her a lot."

I really liked Brookdale Fountaingrove. My mom could be tough sometimes, but they really helped her. The staff always answered the phones and kept me updated. She was happy there. I was very pleased with the place.

"Nice place, overall"

We're happy with Brookdale Fountaingrove. The staff is friendly and professional, taking good care of residents. The facility is clean, but the food could improve.

"Dear One's Disappointing Short Stay at Ritzy Assisted Living Facility"

This spot looked like a ritzy place. A person very dear to me was supposed to stay for some time, but they left in less than a day. Despite that, they took most of the money we'd initially given. That made me upset, and I can't really say good stuff about this place. My loved one had picked this joint, but it didn't go too well. We're much happier now with a different place.

"Assisted Living: Mostly Positive Experience"

I just started trying out this assisted living place for my mom. She’s staying there for a short time right now. The cost for her stay seems fair. I notice that the older workers are pretty skilled, but the younger ones are still picking up the ropes. My mom’s having a great time with the activities they offer. She’s a big fan of playing bingo and enjoys the monthly Sunday drives in the countryside. Every night, she watches a movie and she even joined a class to make jewelry. She has dinner with others every evening. They may not chat much, but it’s nice they’re together. I think it’s helping her. For the last six weeks, I’ve been keeping a close eye, making calls, and checking in to ensure she’s okay. So far, they’re doing a job that’s better than average.

"Aggressive Memory Care Program"

They offer a strong memory therapy program, but my 86-year-old aunt doesn't really need that level of care. Right now, she reminisces about her childhood more than anything else. Despite her dementia, she's very social, and I feel we should let her be. Spending money on aggressive memory treatment for an 89-year-old woman seems unnecessary.

"Great Care and Fun Activities!"

I think the cost is high, but I checked other places and it’s about the same or even lower. They have 5 levels of care and charge for medication management. The care is amazing. One thing I love is that residents wear a necklace that calls their caregiver when pressed. There are little boxes in the room that show how long until the caregiver arrives. It’s a great system. They have awesome activities. On Terrific Tuesdays, they have margaritas and a musical guest, and on Fantastic Fridays, they have wine and a musical guest. They also take residents on drives and shopping trips. It’s pretty cool. I picked this place because they have skilled nursing right there, so there’s some familiarity if something happens. But we’ve had some issues with communication on the skilled nursing side. I asked for an appointment with the psychiatrist about my mother-in-law’s medications, and they forgot. I had to remind them, and now the appointment is 5 weeks from when I asked, which is frustrating. We chose this place because they have memory care and skilled nursing attached. There’s always a nurse there, and all the caregivers are CNAs. My mother-in-law said, “I’ve never been this pampered in my entire life.” She loves it!

"Emeritus at Santa Rosa"

Both my parents live at Emeritus of Santa Rosa. This place keeps them safe and provides the help they need, especially since they're both over 85 years old. They've been married for more than sixty-five years, but staying in a private home wasn't feasible anymore. Dad gets the assistance he requires, and they've made friends here. Mom enjoys the fun activities, and they still go on outings.

"Warm, cozy facility with great activities and friendly staff"

I met to one of the staff, who is very warm and caring. The tour went great. The facility is big but still feels cozy, with many areas for residents to enjoy. It feels like home. There are lots of fun activities to keep residents busy and excited every day. The rooms are a good size, with most having walk-in closets and big bathrooms. They have grab bars and easy-access showers. The memory care area is secure, and the staff we met were friendly and warm. There are several nice outdoor areas too. I would consider moving my mother in, but the cost for her level of care might be high. She hasn't been assessed yet, but I think she would need the higher tier.

"The staff was wonderful, and the community feels safe and caring."

The staff gave us a tour of Emeritus, and she was wonderful to work with. The facility is in a beautiful location with views of the Sonoma Mountains and the Santa Rosa valley. They serve three meals and three snacks a day, plus have fun events to build a sense of community. Food is available most of the day, with daily specials at certain times. There are also Country Kitchens on two floors where residents can grab breakfast and either take it to their room or eat there – which is awesome! If someone misses breakfast, the staff checks on them to see if they’re okay. If a resident feels sick, they can use a call box by their bed to talk to staff, and help will come if needed. Residents also wear a fob that can call medical staff when they’re on the property. Safety features like grab bars, step-in showers, and a fenced outdoor area are also available. I do have some concerns about the cost, especially if I need medication management, but it seems reasonable, especially if my dad’s medications can be reduced. The initial assessment can be done at an Emeritus site in Ohio, where my father currently lives. All utilities, cable, and laundry are included, though phone and internet are extra.

This place is gorgeous, but we can't afford the memory care.

I really enjoyed being here. The only issue was that it's quite crowded and big for my mom. Will she be able to find her room?
