"Friendly Place, But Costs and Privacy Are Concerns"
I can’t speak on the food or fun stuff because I didn’t try them. The place costs too much for folks who get the same amount of money every month. Everyone living here is over 50. They’re super nice and it’s a perfect spot for retired folks like me. Everything you need is no more than 3 miles away. There aren’t many homes for older people, but they offer helpers who can come to your house every day to take care of you if you want. My neighbors are great; they help me out and I’ve never been happier. The people who work here are really friendly, but the high cost is a big downside. Everything else about the place is awesome, and I have no other complaints. The walls are pretty thin though, so you can hear your neighbors very easily. Sometimes, the staff will come into your room to check on you without letting you know first. Once, they did that while I was in the shower, so yeah, privacy can be a problem.

"Mixed Experience at Vista Blue Mountain Assisted Living"
We picked Vista Blue Mountain because it's close to home and I'm the only daughter nearby. Price was important, and they offered an all-inclusive plan where the cost stays the same each month no matter what care is needed. One good part of the plan is they bring meals to her room, which is convenient. However, she's particular about food, and the quality isn't great. Other residents and families feel the same way. Turnover seems high; we've had 4 directors in a year. About 3/4 of the staff have changed since we arrived. The current staff are friendly; I especially like the helpful woman at the front desk. They are quick to address any questions or concerns.

"Disappointed in Vista Blue Mountain's Hospital-Like Atmosphere"
Vista Blue Mountain didn't wow me at all. It had the appearance of a clinical institution, not a home. The smell hit me as soon as I stepped in and it was not pleasant. Yeah, the folks there were nice but the overall vibe was like a hospital, not a living spot.

"Review: Communication and cleanliness issues at Assisted Living Facility"
My mom passed away and I haven't been able to get through to the facility since their phone lines aren’t working. I need to know where they moved my mom's body. My brother is the only one who has details, but he won't share them with me. The staff were friendly, but they weren’t great at keeping the place clean. My mom and youngest brother said her room was always untidy and nobody seemed interested in cleaning it. My eldest brother admitted her to the facility and we didn’t have a say over it. Apparently, he took advantage of her mental condition to get the power of attorney. From what I understand, this power should end once the patient dies unless it was arranged otherwise. As per the rules, if after 10 days nothing happens, then we may take possession. My mom must be buried next to my dad, so I'm committed to finding her. On Saturday, my brother prevented me from visiting her. To my shock, she then passed on overnight.

"Mixed Feelings on Assisted Living Facility"
The place seems nice and promises a lot, but we’re facing theft problems. My loved one’s pain medicine, jewelry, personal stuff, and even three wheelchairs have gone missing. The meals weren’t tasty at first, but they’re getting a bit better since a new cook came. Sometimes, they run out of what’s supposed to be for lunch or dinner. The staff in the memory care unit are super kind, but it’s like the helpers in the regular living area are hardly there. Like, no one’s taken out the trash, cleaned up, or washed clothes this week, and it’s not the first time it’s happened.

"Design Flaw in Shared Rooms, Difficult for Mobility Aids"
The single rooms looked okay. But the shared rooms? They had a door and hallway that just didn’t work out. It was really tough for anyone using a walker or wheelchair to get around. The way it’s set up is not good at all. It’s kind of shocking that it was okayed in a check-up.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short, Needs Improvement"
Our mom's been here 5 months, faced issues from management down. Food's bad, sometimes not enough. They ignore dietary needs like diabetes. Not worth the money, but limited options on a tight budget. Charges too high. Staff quality varies; some lack basic decency. Do your research before choosing.

"Great small facility with secure courtyard and helpful manager"
I like this Brookdale better than the other one in the area. I even put my friend here. It’s a smaller place with a secure courtyard in the middle. I feel good knowing my friend is safe in the courtyard. Tammy, the manager, was very helpful and sent me lots of info, even though I didn’t move my friend in here right away. I recommend this place for those who need extra help.

" "Elderly Father Neglected: Poor Care at Assisted Living Home""
This Assisted Living Home is Awful at Caretaking!" The management here seems nice, but the care is horrible. I talked to the manager about some serious problems two times before I found my elderly dad in a terrible state. He was sitting in front of his AC with no pants, shivering cold with purple lips, and he couldn't even respond to me. I pressed his emergency button immediately and told the staff to call 911. The staff members rushed to put pajama bottoms on my dad just before the paramedics got there. They said my dad was dehydrated and his heart rate was dangerously low. I explained to the firefighters how I found him and thanked them for their quick response. The paramedics asked the staff if he had been given anything to eat or drink that day and the staff said no. They had to take my dad to the hospital. We decided not to take him back to Brookdale Grand Terrace after that.

"Poor Care At Brookdale Grand Terrace: A Cautionary Tale"
Brookdale at Grand Terrace, CA? Don't even think about it. I regret recommending this place for senior care. We trusted them with my wife's dad, but they let us down. My wife was always stressed, constantly checking on him. You don't want your loved ones to go through what we experienced at Brookdale Grand Terrace, CA. Thanks,

"Unpleasant Facility with Friendly Staff, Not a Good Fit"
I visited this place for someone dear to me, and to be honest, it wasn't pleasant at all. That special person in my life would've had to share a room, and those rooms were already pretty cramped. The doors to the closets were missing, giving the place a gloomy and official vibe. I gotta say, the staff was quite warm and friendly, they were really great people. But the facility itself, it wasn't the right fit for us.

"Dirty Facility, Insufficient Vegetarian Options, and Negligent Staff Uncovered"
I visited this place and didn't like it one bit. The whole facility looked dirty. They showed me a bedroom that my family member would be staying in and it was messy. It was a shared room, but the part where she was meant to stay hadn't been tidied up. Even when empty, the cleaning crew should've made sure there were no insects around, which they hadn't because I spotted some in the bathroom. The room and the entire place looked run-down. The rest of the place was no better-- it was dirty too. The employees were able to answer my questions for the most part. My family member is a vegetarian who hasn't been eating well lately, so food is a big concern. I wanted assurance they could cook tasty vegetarian dishes for her, but they couldn't guarantee it.

"Brookdale Disappointment: Inadequate Care Prompts Desperate Hospital Rush"
Our experience at Brookdale in Grand Terrace was absolutely disappointing, probably the worst decision we'd made regarding our ageing father's care. I recall a Father's Day incident back in 2017 when I walked into his room to find him with no pants on, practically unresponsive with his lips turning purple right under the air conditioning vent. After calling for emergency medical services, the paramedics diagnosed him with severe dehydration and dangerously low heart rate, rushing him to the hospital immediately. Before this incident, I had lodged two complaints to the management team. I mentioned my concerns about the care, or rather the painful lack of it, that Dad was receiving. I also told them about other concerning signs like the persistent bad smell and the skin rash that had developed on him. The numerous cuts on his arm from wheelchair-related mishaps and his broken toenail didn't help the situation either. Gratefully, we eventually relocated him to Golden Years in Highland where the service is excellent. Our beloved father - an honorable veteran of the Korean War and fantastic dad - finally receives the phenomenal care he deserves. We feel blessed.
