"Lovely facility, but not ideal for individualized elder care."
It seemed like a nice place for assisted living, but it didn't work well for my mom. She needed more personal attention and to see the same caregivers regularly. There were too many people around, so we couldn't leave her alone – one of us had to stay with her all the time. Because of this, she didn't really participate in the community activities, so it wasn't right for her. The building itself was very nice. The staff were friendly and did their best to help us with everything we needed. The cost was what we expected. Overall, it's a great place, just not the right one for us.

"Understaffed Assisted Living Facility Falls Short of Expectations"
This place had a big problem with not having enough workers. They didn't have enough caregivers to help residents like they should. People had to wait a long time after they pushed the buttons for help. The caregivers had too much to do and were very tired. They were asked to do things that were too hard to do well. While we were there, 12 workers left, and the new boss expected too much from them, so they quit. It wasn't a good experience.

"Facility Fails with Staff, Schedules, and Maintenance Issues"
I would advise people to avoid this place. They barely have any staff, which I understand is a common issue everywhere right now. But they're a mess with their schedules—nothing ever goes as planned, even though I'm there talking to the nurses and staff four times a week. The food is just mediocre. My dad's apartment smells like it's a smoker’s motel room, and they've done nothing to fix it. My mom’s toilet has been leaking, and that hasn’t been repaired either. I'm really not happy with this facility.

"Mixed feelings about respite stay at assisted living facility"
Our family member stayed here for a short break, and it cost us a lot because it was for respite care. We felt like they didn't have enough people working at night. Since our family member can't walk, we didn't think it was worth the money. But the staff were nice when we talked to them. The place itself was fine, and we could see our family member outside a few times during the pandemic, which was good."

"Good Care, Needs More Variety in Food"
We picked Brookdale Irvine because the people working there are nice, it’s clean, and it’s in a good spot. The rooms are pretty big too. But they don’t change up what they serve to eat much, and my friend said the food didn’t have much flavor. They could do better with that. There aren’t enough staff for all the people living there, and they seem really busy all the time. My friend needed more help than they could give. If you need more help, it costs more money too. I’d say it’s a good place for folks
