"Be Cautious: Brookdale Loma Linda’s Downsides Outweigh Friendly Staff"

I can't understand why anyone would rate Brookdale Loma Linda higher than a single star. You really need to watch out for this place! It's in poor condition. If you visit, ask to see the rooms where people are actually living. They've got their building right next to train tracks which have constant freight train traffic, day and night. If you're staying in a room at the back, expect to be bothered by the noise. Their back patio? Not at all nice to look at. The food? It's not what it used to be. The worst part is that they'll reel you in with a reasonable rate. But within the first year, they'll increase it without even consulting a doctor. They take advantage of the fact that most families won't move their loved ones once they've settled in. This place is a rip-off! The one good thing is most of the staff members are friendly, just be careful with the management.

"Opted for another place due to lower care requirements."

We looked at Brookdale but chose elsewhere; she needed less care.

"Assisted Living Facility Needs Improvement"

This place always seems short on staff. The new people don't seem trained well. And it smells bad - they should use washable floors. Booking the shuttle bus is hard. Sometimes, we had to hire another service because the staff couldn't fit us in. But I often saw them using it for their lunch breaks. Maintenance is okay, but they need reminding a lot. The social director isn't very friendly. The bathrooms are tiny and hard for wheelchairs. My dad fell a lot trying to use his walker. They took off the bathroom door, so there's no privacy. Medical care needs better oversight. Dad's medicine was often given at the wrong time, leading to more falls.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility's Dining Changes"

Overall, this place is really nice. They take good care of my family member in a safe place. But, the old chef left, and the new chef's food isn't liked by my family member, though others enjoy it.

"Needs Improvement in Service and Comfort"

When our family member moved in, nobody told us what to prepare. We couldn’t use some stuff we brought, and it ruined our plans. They had two rooms, but the air conditioner was in the other room, making it hard to keep their bedroom comfy. It wasn’t set up well. Plus, they often waited too long for help, and their laundry, which should be done weekly, took two weeks.

"Community Too Big for Loved One"

The Director was super helpful, but the community was too large for my loved one.

"Friendly staff and happy residents make this place recommendable"

I visited this place while searching for a home for my loved one. The sales manager was great and made us feel very welcome. Even though they don’t have memory care services, the facility was still very nice. The residents all looked happy, and the staff really took care of everyone. I also liked that they have worship services in the lobby. I’d suggest this place to other families.

"Wonderful Nurses"

My loved one stayed here for only 11 days before she passed away. During her time here, I think things were pretty good, and she felt comfortable. Brookdale has an amazing salesperson. He could probably sell anything, and he’s really nice. The nurses and aides are fantastic. They’re kind and genuinely care about the residents. The place is also very clean and neat, but there are a few things they could work on. It’s hard to figure out the total bill, and sometimes even the staff doesn’t know. Also, the elevator is quite small. It’d be great if they could get a bigger one so there’s more room for carts, walkers, and wheelchairs in the community.

"Ad Info Felt Deceptive, Facility Lacked Updates"

I found my visit to this place unimpressive. They claim that they're updating things all over, including in the personal rooms. But the room they showed me was pretty grubby and had out-of-date cabinets. When I questioned if they intended to update anything, they only mentioned cleaning the carpet. I felt like their ad was simply not accurate.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Community"

Things seem good for my mom here. The activities are fun, thanks to the director, [removed]. But meal and bath times can be a hassle. They don't have enough staff, so sometimes people miss meals or wait too long.

"Fantastic Assisted Living Facility with Helpful Staff and Lovely Apartments"

The person who helped us, ,, was really nice, and he made sure to talk to my mom directly. He gave us all the information we needed and considered how much we could afford. Right now, this place is our favorite. The apartments were really nice, and the tour was great because it showed us everything and was enjoyable.

"Room for lots of improvement at Brookdale Loma Linda"

My relative has been staying at Brookdale Loma Linda and there have been numerous problems related to their medicines. The main reason we placed them here was to receive assistance with their medication, but I find myself still worried and needing to constantly check in. I believe they're struggling because of staffing problems and the size of the facility. Plus, the bathrooms here are really small- it seems dangerous. There's also an issue with the air conditioning in the apartments. The living rooms get very cold while the bedrooms are very warm as they only have vents in the living rooms. Plenty of changes are required here.

"My Visit: New, Big, and Friendly"

This place is new and really big. It’s a bit larger than what we wanted, but the people I met were friendly, and everything looked clean.

"Caring Staff and Great Events"

My mom moved here, and things are going great. She used to live in another senior community, but this one is much better. They have lots of caring staff who are compassionate and helpful. Mom attends their events and is adjusting well. I chose this place because friends and family recommended it. When I asked questions, they were open and provided a schedule of activities and their menu.

"Beautiful facility but lacking in attentive, reliable care."

My mom lived at this assisted living facility for a month but has already moved out. The facility is overall okay, with both good and bad points. The grounds are very lovely, and they have a lot of fun activities going on. Most of the workers are friendly and really helpful. One worker in particular, was outstanding and really went the extra mile until the very end. Unfortunately, their communication isn't great and seems disorganized. They also cut back on personnel drastically a few weeks into the month. My mom had a safety button, but often had to wait for 45 minutes when she used it. One time, she fell and had to call me so I could get help from the front desk. On top of that, the housekeeping staff wouldn't wash her clothes. They would change her colostomy bag, but leave a mess in her bathroom afterward. If you're considering this place, I would recommend forming your own impression. It wasn't right for my mom, but it might be a decent choice for someone who can take care of themselves a bit more.

"Beautiful place with kind staff; hoping to get Dad in"

Everything went great. The place is beautiful, and everyone was so nice. I really hope I can get my dad in here.

"Excellent Community"

The community is awesome. The staff is nice and friendly, although sometimes a bit slow. They serve good meals with variety, and there are plenty of activities. I'd recommend this community to other families.

"Unsatisfactory care at Brookdale Loma Linda"

My mother in law's experience at Brookdale Loma Linda wasn't good. Communication was lacking. She's a vegetarian and they didn't have meals that fit her diet. Moreover, even the food they served was cold. The cost didn't match up to the services either it just wasn't fair for what we were paying. They were always short-staffed and we had to get her home health assistance while she was living there. I would urge families not to choose this place'.

"Improvements noted after ownership change and staffing modifications"

Since the new owners took over, things have been gradually getting better. They've switched up a lot of the staff. When my dad first came here, it took a while for them to respond but they're quicker now. There was a problem with his medication when the main nurse left, but that's all fixed now. I talked to the main office and they seemed to really care about fixing our issues, and they're doing their best.

"Friendly staff, clean place, good food, and daily activities!"

I spent just one day here, but it was great. The people I met were friendly and well-informed. The place was clean, and the food looked and smelled delicious. They also have daily activities for residents.

"Okay Meals, Super Nice Staff"

The meals they serve are pretty average - a lot of carbs, and too many beans. But the workers are really nice and always ready to help.

"Mixed Feelings on Brookdale Loma Linda"

We visited your place and mostly liked it, but two things bothered us. First, the smoking spot is just in a plain parking lot. It would be better if it had some plants or looked nicer. Second, we're not sure about the memory care for residents with memory loss. We're worried about how well they're taken care of.

"Caring and Attentive Staff at this Assisted Living Facility"

The workers are super nice and the nurses are awesome. They've been really good at talking to us about how to take care of my family member and making a plan just for her. They're always ready to hear any problems we have and find ways to fix them.

"Caring and Bright"

The people there are really nice and helped us move my mom. She can have her dog, and her room is sunny. They gave us good advice and checked her needs in three ways: by us, her doctor, and the wellness person. That made me feel sure they'll help her with everything. We can visit whenever, not just at certain times. They're fixing up the common areas, so they'll be nice when they're done.

"Feeling More Comfortable Each Day, Food is Decent"

So far, everything has been pretty good. The food is decent for serving 120 people. It’s okay quality. It just takes a bit to get used to, but I’m feeling more comfortable every day. I like it here.

"Average Three Star Review for Brookdale Loma Linda"

After a bit, I realized a bunch of the folks living there take a lot of medicine. These people are mixed up with the folks who don't need help. I think they should be separate. The workers take a while to answer, but they're pretty nice. There's no cameras or any kind of security watching over things. Some of the doors you use to get in are getting pretty old and should be fixed. I'd rate Brookdale Loma Linda 3 stars as it could use some work. That's all I've got.

"Initial Concerns Resolved: Better Care for Parents Achieved in End"

At first, they tried to cut costs, so they didn't assess my parents properly. This meant they didn't get the right care. Dad got really dehydrated and went to the hospital three days later. Saving money's okay, but I want my parents looked after. We sorted it out, and now they're okay. At first, it seemed like they were just trying to lower the price to make a sale, which made me angry. But everything's fine now.

"Top-Notch Care and Service at Emeritus of Loma Linda"

This place is run really well, with great care for the seniors living there. From our first inquiry to the whole process, every staff member was polite and had answers to all our questions. The staff, even when you don’t see them, keep a positive attitude, even if they’re tired from a busy day. That’s rare in this industry and shows that Emeritus cares about their employees. Residents are invited and encouraged to join in the many activities the program director sets up. They can also suggest activities they like. Concerns are addressed right away, which is rare at other places. With more people needing assisted living, it’s becoming normal to move into a place like Emeritus at Loma Linda. One important tip: ask any and all questions. If even one question isn’t answered to your satisfaction, walk out. Emeritus, as a company, runs great facilities. Emeritus of Loma Linda is 5 stars all the way.

Lovely place! We booked a one-bedroom suite today. Mom is happy, so we’re having lunch there next Tuesday, measuring the rooms, and moving in by the end of the month. Thanks a lot for finding Emeritus for us! Praise the Lord!!

"Comfortable Living Environment with Caring Staff"

This place is really nice, especially if you can move around easily. We had a problem with missing money in the first few days, though. The staff here is amazing. Steven takes great care of my friend. There are other great helpers too, but I can't recall their names. The place is always clean, and it doesn't smell bad at all. The food here is delicious and enjoyable.

"Affordable assisted living with various amenities and flexible payment options."

She 1800 offers shared rooms, with the caregiver getting their own space. You get three meals a day plus snacks, and they do your laundry and housekeeping once a week. They also provide transportation to and from medical appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, they'll take you shopping in Redlands or nearby places like Walmart and Walgreens. On Saturdays and Sundays, they'll take you to church. They have services for different faiths throughout the week. They also have life alert services for emergencies. As your needs change, they adjust the level of care you receive, with costs starting at 525 points and going up 200 points for each level. You can still have your own home care worker if you need one, and there's no requirement to have renter's insurance. You'll need to pay a security deposit of $2000, which you can split into two payments, and your rent is due on the first of each month. You can set up automatic payments, and if you need to leave, you just need to give them 30 days' notice.

"Good place, but not for mom"

My mom thinks she's paying too much for what she gets at the assisted living facility. She doesn't participate in activities, and there have been some issues with response time. Overall, it's a caring place, but maybe not the right fit for her.
