"Friendly Assisted Living with Elevator Issue"
The staff is super nice and helpful. We liked the place overall, but the elevator near my mom's room was broken for a week. Still, I'd recommend Cogir on Manteca to others.

"Mixed Experience in Assisted Living During Holiday Season"
Overall, everything was okay. When he had to go to the hospital, they wouldn't let him come back. They said they couldn't handle his care needs, even though he was getting better with short-term rehab. It was especially tough because it happened around the holidays, and I had to rush to find another place for him. As long as there are no problems or big changes needed, even if just for a while, it's an alright place to be.

" Facility Fails in Care Despite High Fees, Promises"
Don't buy into their promises. They told us that our mom would be getting top-notch care, labeling her as a level 10 care patient. We had to shell out for a single month's care and an additional for rent. Despite all this, they barely took care of her. Some, not all, of the caregivers, didn't have the qualifications to care for our mom properly. They even left her alone in the bathroom. One guy was so careless, he left her alone and was busy on his phone.

"Location Convenience and Friendly Staff Make Cogir Stand Out"
We chose Cogir because it's close to my home, which was really important to us. What stands out the most about Cogir of Manteca is how friendly the staff members are. They've been quick to answer any questions or concerns we've had. There could be some improvements though. The activities they offer could use more variety. Also, they should work on responding faster to housekeeping issues.

"Unprofessional, unclean facility with disrespectful approach to serious matters."
My family member stayed here for two weeks and it was terrible. They tried to charge me because they claimed we broke a contract with their dirty, unprofessional setting. This place doesn't deserve any stars. If it were up to me, I wouldn't give them any. They don't take their job seriously. Death is no laughing matter.

"Caring Staff and Home-like Feel; Parking Needs Improvement"
I really like Cogir of Manteca. My husband stays in memory care, and the staff there are great. They always update me about him and send photos, which I appreciate even though I visit often. He truly feels at home there. The only downside is the parking situation, which could be better.

"Care Lacking at Costly Assisted Living"
The folks at the home didn’t look after my family member like they should’ve, especially since they weren’t there long. The first person who was supposed to take care of us was not nice at all and didn’t make us feel good about being there. Even though I was giving them a lot of money, they didn’t help my family member get to meals. This made their sugar levels go up a lot, so I had to move them out of there. They really need to make it clear what they mean by ‘helping’ people live there.

"Good location and staff; room sizes small; care could improve."
We chose Cogir of Manteca for its good location, availability, and helpful staff. The room sizes are a bit small but adequate. My aunt feels the care could improve, and it would be nice if they had regular meetings with families and staff. Overall, I would recommend it to others.

"Overall, Very Poor Care and Disappointing Experience"
My family member didn't have a good time at this facility. She was so let down by the lack of services that she chose to leave quickly. There were many problems that bothered her, from the staff's poor attitude to her medicine not being given on time, and requests not being fulfilled. The entire experience was extremely disappointing for all of us.

"Prioritizes Profit Over Patient Care and Support"
This place just cares about the cash and hikes prices whenever they feel like it. They're not involved in my care at all. What this place needs is people who care more. If I slip and fall, they think I should pick myself up. It costs too much and my kids are out there looking for a better place for me. A bunch of the other folks living here are doing the same thing.

"Needs upgrades!"
The Brookdale Manteca staff are mostly nice and experienced. However, having only one maintenance worker for the whole building seems insufficient. The meals are decent, but portions are small. There could be more medical technicians. The heating and air conditioning units are loud and old-fashioned. The rooms and bathrooms need renovating. On the bright side, the public areas and courtyard are pleasant.

"Great place to live, friendly staff, and fun activities"
I really like it here. I've been here for 2 weeks at Brookdale of Manteca, California. The staff, including management, housekeeping, and maintenance, are great. The food and dining staff are especially good. The other residents are friendly, and the town is great for seniors. The receptionists are friendly and helpful. Management has all the answers or will find out if they don’t know. [Removed] and [Removed] are my favorites. I enjoy the decorations and activities. It’s very fun, and I love sitting by the fire. It feels like I died and went to heaven.

"Friendly staff, clean facility, but room for better communication"
My mother has been living here for just a week, and everyone has been really friendly and helpful. She feels welcomed. However, on the day we moved her in, the bathroom wasn’t as clean as it could have been, and my husband and I the movers found that no one offered to show us around or help us find the apartment, the side door, or the elevator. It felt like we were just handed the keys and left to figure things out on our own. Also, the front desk hasn’t been very helpful with my mother’s questions. Despite that, the place is clean, the people are nice, and my mother enjoys the food. Her little dog is welcome too. The apartment is small but nice, though the fixtures could use some updating. Overall, I feel good about my mother being here, and she likes it so far.

"Great overall service with a minor communication issue"
They've done a great job overall. One thing to improve is letting new residents and caregivers know the rules better. For example, we didn't know we couldn't bring in unused medication. It would have been helpful to know that. The facility has a new medical director, and I've shared my concerns with him. He might be fixing the issue. Besides that, the food is excellent, the staff is wonderful, and we are really happy with the apartment we got for my mom. It’s a great value. Thanks to A Place For Mom for helping us find this place without any sales pitch. They were honest and straightforward.

Sherry was great! The place was clean and welcoming. She showed us rooms in both assisted living and memory care. We met staff and chatted with residents. "Unacceptable Conditions and Negligence at Care Facility"
When I visited my family member, I was shocked to find them sitting in their own mess of dried pee and poop. I alerted the Facility Director, and her vague response was that the staff had somehow missed my loved one's room. On a separate visit, I found my family member in serious discomfort. I informed the Facility Director again, only to be told that they were an hour late with the medication distribution and she couldn't do anything about it.

I checked out the memory care area here, but it didn't really impress me. On the other hand, I visited a different Emeritus facility, and they were great! They kept the residents active and played games with them. Plus, they served the same food as the rest of the residents. Unfortunately, the memory care at this Emeritus location didn't meet our expectations, which is why we decided not to choose it.

"Inconvenient Location But Friendly Staff"
I think this place is cheaper, but it's far from where I work in Modesto. The other place I was thinking about is closer, so it would be easier for me to pick up my parents. This place is quite a long way from the freeway. I wouldn't want to have to drive all that distance to get them, so I might not visit them as much. The lady who showed us around was really nice and helpful. It's just that, for me and my parents, I think the other location would be better.

""Overly Large and Dark Facility Lacking Liveliness""
We found the assisted living facility way too large; it came off as a place where our family member could easily become disoriented and lost. The corridors are slimmer than those in other facilities, giving off a dark, confined vibe. There's a clear need for additional windows and lights along the hallways to make the place feel more inviting and spacious. Although the overall mood seemed pleasant to us, there were noticeably few residents out and about. All things considered, the place didn't seem like the best match for our loved one.
