"Mixed feelings about Brookdale Mirage Inn"
I would tell others to consider Brookdale Mirage Inn. The only problem I have is with how they communicate about managing medications. It's been tough sometimes. Overall, though, I think it's one of the better places in the Coachella Valley.

"Mixed Experience with Assisted Living Facility"
My overall experience at the assisted living facility was mixed. Some staff members struggled to assist me as a visually impaired person, and they didn't always keep their promises. However, they found ways to manage these challenges. The quality of care suffered because there weren't enough staff members, and the activities also didn't fully accommodate my visual impairment. I recommend advising clients to ask detailed questions about what's included and what's not. This can significantly affect costs.

"Unhappy with Unfair Treatment and Poor Lunch at Facility"
This place was terrible. When we were touring the facility, they wouldn't let my husband stay with me. I wanted him to see where he might be living, but they wouldn't let him see the community with me. The person in charge tried to control my husband. He's still my responsibility, not theirs. When we had lunch, the salad was terrible. It was just canned sliced beets with no dressing. My husband had beans without dressing. It wasn't what I expected a good meal to be. So, I ended up not choosing this place for him.

We visited this community for my mom’s care. The staff was friendly, but it didn’t feel like the right fit. The community needs improvements, especially regarding residents freely accessing the kitchen. The menu seemed appealing, and they offered activities. We recommend other families tour for care and value.

I checked out a few places for seniors, and after thinking about it for 2 years, I decided Brookdale Mirage was the right choice. Now, 5 weeks later, I’m really happy with my decision.

"Avoid Mirage Inn, Horrendous Care and Dishonest Billing Practices"
Please do not ever consider this place for your dear family member. We had my Dad stay here at their memory care section, and it was immediately evident they just couldn't provide enough care. They would take my Dad to fun activities but often forgot his hearing aids, which only made him more confused. They never applied any lotion correctly, leaving his skin super dry and flaky. He also looked unkempt all the time. After three agonizing weeks, we decided to move him out. We have been trying and failing to get the accurate final bill from the director for over three months. And then, two weeks after my father left, they tried to steal $11,272 straight from his bank account! Luckily, we caught this in time and stopped the transaction. Finally, I had a conversation with the said the final bill was just $2,684 but we never received a bill for that amount. Instead, the last bill we got was a hefty $5,277, with an added late fee of $250! If you value your loved one's dignity, care, and well-being, keep them far away from Mirage Inn.

The staff takes great care of my father here. I'm really happy with everything they’ve done for us. The community is usually clean and looks nice. My father enjoys many of the activities and thinks the food is good. They’ve been very accommodating to both of us, and I would definitely recommend this place.

"Smooth Move-In Experience and Personalized Room Setup"
What they did well was they got my mom into the assisted living place and made her feel comfortable. They let her arrange her room with her own furniture, which was nice because it made her feel more at home. The process of evaluating her needs went smoothly, and they were good at keeping us informed and answering our questions.

"Lacking Care, But Tasty Meals Assisted Living Review"
The food is really good, and the folks in the dining room are super nice and work hard with us, which is great. But when it comes to taking care of us, it's not so good. There are always new people, and they don't seem to know much. They don't seem to care much about us either.

"Hard Times at Mirage Inn - Management Unhelpful"
My parents didn't like staying at Mirage Inn because they didn't get the care they deserved. From the time they arrived till the day they left, working with the Mirage Inn and Brookdale Corporation was really tough. For example, every time they needed something fixed, like the air conditioner (and it's hot in the desert!) or broken door locks or even simple stuff like replacing burnt out light bulbs in their apartment, it took forever. The management also went back on some promises they made when my parents first signed up to stay there. One thing we really liked, though, was the dining room - the food and service there were really good.

"Pricey for Similar Services Offered Elsewhere"
It's certainly a pleasing place, but the high cost didn't match up to the services. I suppose having an address in Rancho Mirage costs a pretty penny. However, when it comes to what the facility offers, I was able to find comparable services somewhere else at a much more affordable price.
