"Poor Conditions and Unprofessionalism at Assisted Living Facility"
This assisted living facility is terrible. The place isn't kept clean, and the residents seem to be struggling. The staff doesn’t do enough to assist either. The employees are not only unfriendly but also uninformed. Despite charging a high fee, the living conditions are poor—similar to a prison. There are no televisions, telephones or emergency call buttons for the residents to use if they need help. The place appears as though it's seldom cleaned. Additionally, it doesn't seem like they provide emotional support to the residents. It appears the main goal is profit, with little regard for the residents' welfare. If you check Google reviews, you'll find numerous complaints. Surely, all these people can't be making things up. Instead of professionally addressing and working on these problems, the owners choose to be defensive and argumentative. They need to admit their mistakes, stop trying to intimidate others, and start remedying the situation. There are countless issues with this place, and it's apparent the owners aren’t acknowledging their shortcomings to properly address and resolve them!

"Facility neglects critical issues prioritizing rebranding, reviewers' dismayed."
The negative reviews of this assisted living facility are accurate. Management seems to only care about money, neglecting the residents, the building's conditions, safety issues, and their own staff. The caregivers are doing their best even though they're understaffed, working double shifts and still genuinely caring for the residents. Managers could learn a lot from them. The facility has a mold problem with roof leaks, dirt everywhere, rodents and a weakened outdoor deck. These safety problems are not being addressed. Furthermore, the focus is completely on rebranding the facility. Just like you cannot change the contents of a trash can by giving it a new name, rebranding won't significantly change the facility. I have been working in the construction industry for 30 years and can see that the required repairs are numerous and expensive. There needs to be significant work done to bring the building up to code, but they only concentrate on aesthetics. The necessary repairs do not fit into their budget. I'm shocked this place is still operational. I've seen schools being closed for less serious issues until the required repairs were done. They are hiding behind Title 22, a regulation I am currently learning about.

"Lacking Care and Certified Nurses at Assisted Living Facility"
It's a nice place, but they promised to take care of everything my loved one needed during the tour. Unfortunately, they couldn't even help them get out of bed to eat. Instead, they charged me for bringing food to their room. Plus, there are no certified nurses – just people with the title who don't know how to care for medical needs.

"Good Staff, Nice Place, Reasonable Price"
The people who work here are really great! They’re super kind and always ready to lend a hand, but they could sometimes focus a bit more on the little things. Stuff doesn’t always happen as fast as it probably should. The place itself is pretty good-looking. The cost feels just fair for what you receive - it’s not the fanciest out there. It’s not the most incredible spot around, but it’s definitely a pleasant place to be.

"Villa De Anza Issue Over $1700 Deposit Refund"
A few months ago, we were close to moving our stepdad into Villa De Anza. He chose to live in a mobile home he found through his church instead. Since then, Villa De Anza has given us nothing but trouble when it comes to the $1700 deposit we gave them. The head of sales, whose name I won't mention, has been ignoring us totally. I'm really relieved we didn't have our family member stay here with such people in charge.

"Security Concerns at Brookdale Assisted Living"
I visited this place while searching for a home for my loved one. Brookdale has two locations nearby, but I prefer the other one. The community has a lovely balcony, but it lacks landscaping. The young staff member who gave me the tour tried hard, but their knowledge was limited. Unfortunately, they didn't follow up with paperwork guidance after the tour. The building itself didn't feel very secure, and residents freely walked outside. Improvements are needed.

"Questionable Safety Due to Poor Maintenace"
I visited this home while on the hunt for a suitable residence for my dad. The place itself was beautiful and the team seemed to be always ready to help. Everyone living there seemed content and the meals looked tasty. However, their upkeep and repairs left a lot to be desired. I saw damaged wood on the handrails and shower supports were just towel racks attached to the wall. I feared that my dad could absorb serious injuries if he resided there. I would advise other families to look elsewhere.

My mom is really happy and comfortable living here. The staff knows what they’re doing and are very helpful. We haven’t had any problems with anyone. The place is always clean and well-organized. They help with laundry and take out the trash every week. The food has great menu options and big portions. My mom sometimes thinks there’s too much food or it’s a bit cold, but she can talk to the kitchen staff to fix it. They have lots of activities like bingo, movies, a great library, a walking path, and many outings. I would recommend this place to families looking for options.

"Nice place but needs improvement in medication management and maintenance."
Things have been pretty good overall. My dad and I toured here before deciding to move him in. At first, the tour didn't go well. I think it was mainly because the girl that gave us the tour was a little inexperienced. We've had a few growing pains with them that we're still trying to work through. They're a little slow with maintenance. I have to tell them a couple of times to get things done, but overall the people are nice and the place is nice. The food seems decent and the dining area is like a restaurant, but the food tends to be a little soft. They give you a menu with 4 choices for each meal, except breakfast - for breakfast, you just tell them what you want, even if it isn't on the menu, and they'll make it for you. And if you don't like the options, they're willing to make something else. The staff is easy to communicate with and very pleasant. When I take my dad out and bring him back, they always greet him like they're excited he's back. It's very sweet. They've always addressed him by his name and he doesn't walk past anybody that doesn't greet him. The medication room needs some improvement. There doesn't seem to be good communication, things seem outdated, and they need to work on that because it feels like they can't keep up. Whenever he pushes a button for help, they respond pretty quickly. I timed it once and it took someone 4 minutes to get to him, and he lives on the second floor. The cleanliness is great and the grounds are immaculate. They clean his room once a week on Thursdays and I've never had any complaints. There's a general rent price for the room and small extra charges for things that might be needed, like helping with medicine. Overall, I'm fairly pleased with it and I would recommend them with the caveat that the medication room really does need some help.

"Great Place to Live, Close to Family and Lots to Do"
I've really enjoyed living here. I used to live in another Brookdale community, but this one is much better. It's close to my daughter, which means a lot to me. There's a beauty salon in the building, but my daughter still takes me out to get my hair done. There's always something to do—I've played bingo and cards, but I'm not a big fan. In the two months I've been here, I've read at least two shelves of books from the library. The food is great, but I don't like that the waiting staff doesn't clean the tables after the first shift. I do it myself. Other than that, the staff is wonderful, very helpful, and the housekeeping is excellent.

Brookdale Riverside is really nice and friendly. The people who work there are helpful. We picked it because it costs less and they tell us exactly what we have to pay for. They talk to us a lot about how my father-in-law is doing. He's starting to get used to living there. At first, he liked the food, but now he doesn't like it as much. He might be tired of it. They give snacks and drinks to the people who live there in between meals. They have things to do, but my father-in-law doesn't usually want to join in. They're trying to find someone new to plan activities, so maybe that will make him want to try new things. They also take people shopping, and my father-in-law uses the bus to go to the doctor, and the driver is really nice. We're happy with our choice.

"Disappointing Experience at Brookdale Assisted Living"
We didn't like Brookdale. They promised a lot before we moved in, but now they say they can't do it because of budget cuts with the new owners. The rain from storms is getting into the residents' apartments, and all they give are towels! Billing has also been a problem, and it's impossible to reach the corporate office. "Caution Against Assisted Living Facility's Inadequate Care"
Our 93-years-old mother had to be moved out due to her memory loss. She'd been living there for five years, and it was her home. The entire situation was heart-wrenching for her. When we expressed our concern to Director Christine, her insensitive reply was, "she'll get over it". Where's your empathy, Christine? The staff, who were kept in the dark about the move, shared our dismay and saw no reason for the move. While we shifted her belongings, we were disgusted to find heaps of dirty tissues and vermin droppings hiding along the walls. Despite numerous requests to have the bathroom painted and the carpets cleaned, our pleas were ignored.

They've done a pretty good job. We've used their respite stay services a few times. The catch is that last time, when I brought my loved one home, they hadn't given him a shower. If he declines, they can't do it. I wonder if it's different for residents. The staff is awesome to him, and they celebrate events like Halloween with enthusiasm. They're very focused on the residents. Unlike other places, they offer week-long stays, not just a two-week minimum, and the price is fair. The facility is pretty clean. It looks like they don't have enough people working. That's the main problem my mom has. It takes a long time for her to get help when she presses her pendant. You might wait 8-10 minutes for someone to come. The care they give seems alright. Another issue is the bathroom - the shower is a bathtub. It's not big enough. Those might seem like small things, but they really matter. It appears they have plenty of things to do, but she doesn't talk to many people so she's not really interested in going. They have bingo - I think she's gone once. It seems like if they had more helpers or if the pendant worked better, it would be better. She liked her room and the accommodations except for the shower issue. It's not very spacious. I think she enjoys being part of the community.

"Potential Choice Despite Cleanliness Issues, Because of Convenient Location"
This assisted living facility is near my house and offers transportation to my Kaiser Fontana check-ups. They could do better with taking care of the place though. I noticed spider webs on the ceilings, dirty carpets in some corridors and the elevator also looked grimy. Plus, there's a noticeable smell throughout the building. Once, when I popped by for some paperwork, a nice young man helped me out. I think he's a manager. He was very welcoming and reassured me that they could accommodate my needs for a comfortable stay. He also suggested a second visit to check out different rooms from the first one I saw, as it was at the far end of a hall next to a room with an awful smell. Despite cleanliness and maintenance issues, I might still consider this place. It's handy they can get me to my doctor's appointments and it's an easy ride for my family to come see me.

"Perfect Assisted Living Spot Found: Affordable, Friendly, and Convenient"
I think we’ve found the right place. We put down $500 to hold a room which is refundable. It’s about a 15-20 minute drive away. The facility and the staff are great, and the cost fits our budget. It’s in a nice neighborhood. Mom can’t smoke in her room or on the patio, but there is a smoking area in the courtyard. There’s a pond with ducks and fish, and they even have live fishing in the summer. The studio room is small but works well, and we can upgrade to a larger room if she wants. She can bring pictures and figurines to decorate her walls. Laundry is done weekly for her room only, so clothes won’t get mixed up with others. She can also use the free laundry machines if she prefers. Her room is on the 2nd floor, near the exit and close to the elevator, office, diner, and activities, which means less walking. Rent might go up by 3%-6%, but there wasn’t an increase in January, so we’ll adjust our budget for 2014.
