"Friendly Staff, Needs Renovations and More Caregivers"

The place could use some fixing up. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They need a few more caregivers. They were starting to add more activities for the new year and they looked really good.

"Unsafe Conditions, Poor Food, and Dishonest Staff: Not Worth It"

My mom has experienced things disappearing from her room due to dishonest helpers at this place. The support staff is sometimes only 1-2 for as many as 18 people. The food is gross, and they even found bugs in the drinking water once. On top of that, the water supply had to be shut down for three weeks because of a disease called legionnaires. They even had portable toilets out front during that time! Honestly, this place is not worth the cash you have to spend to live there. They'll say anything they need to just to get you or your loved one to move in, but they really don't keep their promises.

"Friendly staff, sometimes hard to reach, location and pricing good."

The staff is nice and takes good care of my mom, but sometimes it's tough to reach them and they don't always have enough people working. We chose this place because it's close by and they charge a flat rate for everything they do.

"Assisted Living Facility Under New Ownership"

Generations Serento Casa is going to be bought by Bayshire, a company that runs assisted living homes. We don't know yet what this will mean for the place. The sale should be finished by January 2024.

"Busy Street Location"

This community was nice overall. I didn't like the busy street location.

"Great place, needs better staff communication."

This place is really nice and well-kept. It seems like they have enough staff. There are plenty of things to do here. I just wish the staff would communicate a bit more. I'm not sure who to ask about my questions, and I'd like more feedback from them.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living"

Good things: Nice grounds, tasty menu, convenient shuttle, fun activities, freeway-close location. Not-so-good things: Staff sometimes seems confused, and there aren’t many residents around.

"Accommodating Assisted Living with Easy Transition for New Residents"

We picked Serento Casa because they accepted new residents during covid. They made moving in very simple and were helpful to our family. After reading other reviews, it seemed like a good place to choose. Knowing the staff and having their direct contact information is reassuring. I would suggest them to other families who are searching.

"Clean and Friendly Assisted Living"

The staff is friendly, and the place is clean. It’s in a nice neighborhood.

"Clean and Helpful Assisted Living Facility"

Really nice place with lots of cool stuff. It costs a bit more than I expected, but that’s because they take good care of my husband. We’re getting a proper quote after an evaluation. Staff was super helpful. I’d give it 4.5 stars, but the model room and hallways smell too clean.

"Great Amenities and Choices!"

Brookdale was pleasant with clean, spacious common areas and fair outdoor courtyards. The rooms were a tad smaller than I thought, but they offered good nutrition choices and a variety of menu options. Plus, plenty of activities!

"Poor Care and False Promises Plague Assisted Living Facility"

Don't let your family suffer in this place, it's horrible. Even 'A Place for Mom' might recommend it but don't fall for it. Non-healthcare staff are making health decisions, the food is lousy, folks are hollering in the night and no one shows up. If you ring the help button, you might wait for as long as thirty minutes, showing you they don't have enough people working. If you voice a complaint, they assure you they'll fix it, but nothing changes. They'll sweet talk you into signing on and handing over your money, but don't expect that kindness to continue. Look up the reviews on Yelp and Consumer Affairs – do your homework and I bet you won't dream of placing anyone you care about heck, not even your pet rodent in this dump!

"Avoid Heartbreak: Don't Trust This Dreadful Facility"

Should you hold any affection for your cherished one, you'd never dream of entrusting them to a place such as Brookdale San Dimas, or squander your money at this. They offer the lowest tier of service imaginable, alongside a team of insensitive people pretending to be caregivers and nurses, whose sole interest lies in their paycheck, not in the well-being of those in their supposed care. These individuals have no qualms about neglecting patients, especially when their loved ones aren't present. This place is an utter nightmare, and I couldn't bear the thought of another soul enduring this during the most challenging period of their existence.

"Comfortable Living!"

My mother-in-law recently moved into this community, and things have been going well for her. The staff is kind, and I feel comfortable with the care she receives. She enjoys the meals and participating in activities with other residents. Overall, it's been a pleasant experience, and I'd recommend it.

"Full-Time Doctor Available, Friendly Staff, Standard Furnishings, Higher Price"

I visited this place and noticed they have a doctor there all the time, not just once a week or month. The furniture looked normal, nothing fancy. The people working there were nice. But it costs more compared to other places we checked.

"A Promising Start at Brookdale"

My dad seems to enjoy living at Brookdale. The staff is friendly and knows residents by name. However, the gym equipment needs improvement—it’s too scarce.

"Great place for Alzheimer's care"

We picked this place because my dad has Alzheimer's and dementia, and we couldn't take care of him anymore. We would tell anyone to choose this place.

"Good location, small rooms, missed answers"

The location is great, but the rooms are quite small. The common areas were dirty, and the tour guide didn't answer all my questions.

"Great Staff and Open to New Ideas!"

The staff have been great at making my mom feel comfortable in her new home. They even added a new activity to their weekly schedule after she suggested it. I was really happy to see them listen to her ideas and make changes. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a retirement home for their loved one.

"Suitable Place but No Direct Outdoor Access"

My mom wanted a place with a door that goes outside for her dog walks. I thought this spot was okay. The team gave me all the details I asked for.

"Like a Cruise: All-Inclusive Comfort and Care"

After checking out 6 other senior care places, I chose Brookdale San Dimas. In 2015, I was in the skilled nursing section for about 6 months and got excellent care. The facility has many appealing amenities. My apartment is great—everything is convenient. I only need minimal care right now, but there are caregivers available if needed. It's like being on a cruise—everything is included in one price, which is nice. The food is okay; it’s a bit repetitive and tough if you need to watch sodium and sugar, but I’m getting used to it.

"Clean and Friendly"

I visited this place (which used to be called Emeritus at San Dimas) when I was checking out care options for a family member. The building was really clean, and the staff I met were nice and professional. We chose a different community in the end, but this one was definitely on my list.

"Worst Doctors, Great Staff"

The staff and the place are awesome—I'd totally recommend them. But the doctors? They're the worst! It's super hard to get in touch with them, and they don't communicate at all.

"Avoid This Assisted Living Facility Due to Lackluster Healthcare Service"

Terrible Experience! Stay Away! While the facility is visually appealing, don't be fooled. They housed my parents and things seemed okay at first. However, we started noticing extra costs on our bill that weren't expected. The incentives that were promised to us for a short term didn't make it to our billing statements. The people working in the accounting office weren't polite, not to mention super unhelpful and never got back to me through emails or phone calls. We were expecting scheduled physical therapy sessions for my dad but that was clearly a lie. When friends visited him, there was no therapy ongoing. They claimed they were administering his medications but that was false as well. Once, his arm had obvious swelling and the only thing they did was wrap a bandage around it. No doctor was alerted. They installed my mom's TV only after a whole two weeks of waiting. They also claimed that a nurse was administering my mom's medication, which wasn't true at all. The building itself is impressive, but the staff completely lack diligence and concern. I strongly advise against placing your loved ones here.

"Excellent care and great location make this place a winner."

She seems really happy there. They’re doing a great job. The head nurse gave us a tour and knew so much, answering all my questions. We also liked where it’s located. Everything is great, and she seems pleased with the food.

"Arrived on Time; Business Focus Over Personal Care at Emeritus"

I got there when expected, but was kept waiting because She was busy on the phone. Instead, I got a tour from Bernice who, I think, is the activities director. She was very nice and knew a lot, showing me the whole site. Yet, it felt like she was more focused on the business side of things. She met me after the tour and showed me to her office. She explained several offers and financial plans. I get that these places must make money, but Emeritus left me feeling a bit uneasy. They're still in consideration, but not my top choice.

"Prices Rise, Care Quality Dips"

They didn't deliver what they promised. They always kept her in bed and also raised the cost. So, the care quality dropped, but we had to pay more.

"Pricy $5300.00. Not keen on communal showers."

It costs too much, $5300.00. Sharing the shower isn't nice.

"Beautiful facility with friendly atmosphere and happy residents"

This place is beautiful. The atmosphere is friendly, and everyone, from the residents to the staff, is welcoming. Staff members greet you and introduce themselves. As we walked through the halls, the residents seemed happy to be there. When, the Director of Memory Care, showed us around, the residents hugged her and asked if she was staying. director's office is right in the middle of the Memory Care area, and it looks like all the residents are well taken care of by the staff. The fees are a bit high, but I can see why. It's in a great location, away from heavy traffic.

The facility was pleasant, and the rooms were nice.

"Friendly Director, Pricey Rooms"

The Director was super friendly and always ready to assist. The facility was beautiful, but it cost too much. The rooms were even smaller than those at Atria Rancho Park.

"Great Facility with Small Rooms and Helpful Staff"

The facility is really nice. The rooms are small but well-kept. They have a rehab center for residents, and it's located on a busy corner near the freeway. Everyone there is friendly and helpful.
