"Assisted Living Didn't Fit My Needs"
I liked this place, but it wasn't exactly what I needed for help.

"Great Community with Engaging Activities and Accessible Leadership"
The community sometimes doesn't have enough staff. The Executive Director is always open to talking with anyone. They offer activities for the residents like bridge, blackjack, mahjong, and more.

"Disappointing Experience Despite Ocean View at Assisted Living Facility"
I've been living here since and it's been nothing but problems, despite the amazing view and awesome food services. My fellow residents and I came up with a phrase that really captures our experience at Ocean House: Brookdale Ocean House: Where you'll pass away unnoticed in your room, but hey, at least you have a view of the ocean! Be careful. Make sure you place your loved ones somewhere they'll be cared for and protected.

"Limited space, no cooking, otherwise decent."
The rooms are too small, no cooking allowed, but nice otherwise.

"Small Rooms and No Cooking, but Many Amenities"
The rooms at this assisted living facility are very cramped, and unfortunately there's no chance to cook even a tiny meal in them. There is a mini fridge tucked away in the closet. While it may not suit our needs, the place still has many features we like.

I really like this place for my dad's care. The staff are always friendly and keep me updated on any changes. The community is clean, and the atmosphere is pleasant. The healthy meals look great. It's nice that he's active with the other residents. We highly recommend this community for its care and value.

"Enjoyable Stay at Lovely Community"
I stayed at this place for a little while and it was nice. The community is really lovely, and everything went smoothly. The staff is awesome, super friendly. The place looks really nice and clean too. But, I think they could make the food program better. Overall, it was a really good experience and I'd tell others about it.

"Great Place, But Too Big for Us"
We visited this place, called Ocean House back then, while looking for care options for a loved one. I thought it was fantastic! The facility was clean and nicely decorated, and the staff seemed friendly and professional. They offered a lot of services and care for the price. However, it was a bit too big for the person I was considering it for; she felt it was a little impersonal and more like a hotel.

"Assisted Living Offers Wide Range of Services and Activities"
They have different sized one-bedroom apartments: 530 sq. ft, 700 sq. ft, and 930 sq. ft. You can stay for a while to see if you like it, but you have to stay for at least a month. The apartment is already furnished. Right now, they don't have any one-bedroom apartments available. Before you move in, they check what help you need. There are caregivers around all day and night. They can help with physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. They help with things like using the bathroom and moving around. But they're not with you all the time. There are about 120 people living there. Some need more help, and some don't need much help at all. They have different activities like talking about the news, exercising, and listening to lectures. Almost half of the people there are men, and there's a group just for them. You can pick what you want to do, and they'll take you places in a car for free within 10 miles every day except Sunday. They'll even take you to see the doctor or go shopping. You can rent a one-bedroom apartment for $5,900 to $7,700 a month. If you want a fancy one, it costs $9,500 a month. That includes meals, cleaning, laundry, activities, and internet. But if you need extra help, like with medicine or using the bathroom, you have to pay more, around $2,000 to $3,000 extra a month. A lot of people want a one-bedroom apartment there, so you might have to wait a bit. They open up new ones every 2 to 3 months.

"Mother enjoys friendly staff, good food, and beautiful views"
My mother has been here for over a month. The staff who care for the residents are positive and efficient. Once my mother made friends, the caregivers often seat them together at a table. Some people might not love the food as much as we do, but we’re happy with the tasty, fresh, healthy, and simple meals they provide. They also accommodate requests for smaller portions, which my mother appreciates. The ocean views, birds, and sailboats are very enjoyable. The fresh air and sunshine in Santa Monica add to the overall feeling of well-being.
