"Decent Care, But Food Needs Improvement"
The food isn't great, but it's okay. The staff is generally good.

"Charming and Clean Place with Friendly Staff; Service Needs Matter"
Brookdale Santa Monica Gardens was really nice. It was clean and everyone there seemed friendly. It was one of our top 3 choices, but we ended up choosing another place that offered the specific service we needed for our loved one.

"Activities Lack Variety for Seniors with Vision Challenges"
I think this community is great for seniors’ loved ones. The staff is friendly, helpful, and caring. However, the activities need more variety, especially for those with vision challenges.

"Not spacious enough for elderly residents."
I didn't like much about this place. Small rooms, not good for my dad.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
My visit to this community was excellent. It looked great, well-maintained. The staff was friendly. They offer lots of activities. Everything was smooth. They knew their stuff and answered my questions. Overall, a delightful experience.

"Mixed Experience: Great Staff, Poor Management, Facility Needs Improvement"
The workers are really nice at this place. But, the building needs new carpet and paint. The people in charge aren't very impressive. They just want you to come here. But once your family member is here, they're not as nice. We got wrong information from the person who sells this place. We talked to her about it, but she said it wasn't true. The food is really bad. The servers are good, but the food isn't.

"Brookdale Santa Monica Gardens: A Shangri-La by the Beach"
We chose Brookdale Santa Monica Gardens for our uncle after he fell ill. It was meant to be temporary, but he loved it so much that we made it his permanent home. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the residents are happy and active. My uncle calls it his ‘Shangri-La.’ He’s regained strength through activities like yoga and chair volleyball, even playing the piano again. The facility, just a block from the beach, has renewed his engagement in life. Thank you, Brookdale Santa Monica Gardens!

"Issues with housekeeping but overall friendly staff and convenient location"
The facility is mostly clean, around a 4 to 4.5 rating. However, the rooms, especially my mother's, aren't well maintained. I often have to ask for things to be cleaned, and her sheets don't get changed weekly. Sometimes, they're not even the right size for her bed. The bathroom doesn't get cleaned weekly either. Recently, I had to buy toilet paper because they hadn't given her any for over a week. I still have to go to management to get these issues resolved. On the positive side, management does handle problems quickly. The staff is friendly and patient. Overall, it's a nice facility in a good location with convenient parking. Just keep an eye on the housekeeping situation.
