"Convenient, Affordable, and Active: Brookdale Assisted Living Review"
I think Brookdale is a good choice for others. The people who work there really care about us. We chose this place because it's close by, not too expensive, and there are lots of things to do.

"Mixed Feelings About Brookdale Tracy"
The common areas at Brookdale Tracy felt really cozy and pleasant, but the food service seemed minimal. The menu options were limited and not very exciting (lots of fatty choices). Opting for Shasta drinks instead of Pepsi or Coke made me wonder if they prioritize profits over residents’ enjoyment. On the bright side, our nurse tour guide was helpful. She answered questions about my husband’s long-term care needs, which was our main reason for considering the move.

"Disappointed with Brookdale Tracy: cleanliness and repairs lacking"
We didn't like Brookdale Tracy. They weren't ready for us, and everything was messy. It wasn't very clean. Many rooms needed fixing. We didn't like it right away.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
In this assisted living facility, the service might not meet your family’s usual expectations. While it’s more affordable, the quality of care reflects the cost. The executive director was commendable, but some staff members were unprofessional and dropped the ball. My loved one enjoyed a resident-led bible study group, but unfortunately, it couldn’t continue. Overall, the saying “you get what you pay for” holds true here.

"Disappointing Experience at Brookdale Tracy Assisted Living Facility"
Placed my mom at Brookdale Tracy in [date removed]. They had lots of activities and fantastic hospice care. The nursing care wasn't one-on-one, but it was decent. However, they consistently mixed up clothes and bedding between patients. Then Covid hit. We could only make phone calls when we could get the staff to do it. After months of lockdown, we were finally allowed to visit from afar. Mom's arms were covered in skin tears and huge bruises, and she said someone was hurting her. I took pictures, contacted the police, Ombudsman, and the State. We had a few follow-ups, but then nothing. Covid restrictions made inspections hard. We had meetings with the management, and they blamed Mom, saying she was aggressive. Despite this, her bruises surprisingly started healing during our visits. They claimed they were retraining staff on care. Mom seemed fine, but then she suddenly started declining. She only lasted a few days, and we were allowed to go in at that time. Patient care was minimal. Dirty diapers stacked in the bathroom made the air unbreathable. A nurse with a South African accent was very rough with my dying mother, yanking blankets from under her while she lay on them half alive because we complained she was laying in wet urine-filled bedding and clothes. It was horrible.

"Excellent care and activities make Brookdale Tracy a top choice"
My mom is really enjoying her time at Brookdale Tracy! The staff are incredibly caring and there are lots of fun activities for everyone. She has a nice one-bedroom apartment where she can be private, and she gets three meals a day. There are exercise classes, trips outside, and much more. I’m so happy with the support my mom is getting!

"Comforting Care in Time of Need"
My dad passed away in May, but thanks to Brookdale, he wasn't alone before he died. When he fell, they came right away. While he was in Hospice care there, he felt comfortable. They checked on him and encouraged him to eat. Whenever we called, they knew exactly how he was doing and were very caring and nice. They took care of his trash and kept his place clean. I'm thankful for the staff and that he was in a nice place he liked, and we liked too.

"Decent Assisted Living Facility with Limited Meal Choices"
This place offers laundry service. It's on the smaller side for a care facility. Mostly, they cater to older people who require considerable support, rather than those who can mostly take care of themselves. From what I observed, the employees were pleasant. The lunch they served was decent, but the variety could be better - there was only one main dish available along with soup and salad to start.

"Staff Is Wonderful"
My mom is doing really well here. We visited her yesterday, and she seems happy and comfortable. She’s starting to meet other residents and make friends. Although there aren’t many activities, that’s okay. She really enjoys the breakfast and coffee they serve. If she doesn’t want to eat in the dining hall, they make sure to bring her food to her room. The staff is very attentive and supportive. I would recommend this community to anyone.

"Great Experience!"
I visited this community for a tour, and I have no complaints. I was torn between this location and another Brookedale I had looked at. The staff were on time for my appointment and answered all my questions in detail. Honestly, there was nothing wrong with what I saw; they had a lot to offer the residents. However, the other location was better for my family because of the distance.

"Warm, welcoming community with great meals and activities"
Brookdale Tracy is a lovely place. It's warm and welcoming. The staff is friendly and attentive to my wife's needs. She seems very happy here. I've eaten with her several times, and the meals are really good. She enjoys the food a lot. There are many activities available, including miniature golf, a pool table, a salon, and a recreation room. The outside area is nicely landscaped with pretty spots for relaxing. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

"Great care and amenities every time"
Our loved one stayed at Brookdale Tracy before, and they took great care of her, so we brought her back for a short stay while I was out of town. They have a certified medical team and very friendly, caring staff who met all her needs. The place feels warm and welcoming. The dining room is set up like a restaurant and they cater to specific diets, like diabetic meals. The community is really nice with lots of amenities. There’s a schedule of activities for the residents, and there’s also a beauty salon, pool table, game rooms, a secure backyard area with a BBQ, and mini golf. We definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

"Very Pleased With Our Choice"
Mom loves it here! She’s making new friends, playing bingo, and enjoying movie nights. The food portions are good, and everything tastes delicious. The staff is friendly, professional, and very nice. The landscaping is well-done, keeping the community neat and attractive. The courtyard has lovely benches for sitting and chatting, and the inside is always bright and clean. After the phone interview and community tour, we were convinced—no need to look elsewhere. Highly recommend!

My dad is getting comfortable at Brookdale Tracy, and the staff is really nice. There are lots of activities for the residents, and my dad knows about them if he wants to join in. He has used the shuttle bus a few times to go shopping when he needs something. Dad enjoys eating in the dining room and is happy with the food. They also offer alternatives if he wants something different. I would definitely suggest Brookdale Tracy to my friends and family.

"Great Care and Food, Admin Could Use Improvement"
My mom-in-law is doing alright at this place and it seems like she's settled in well. The real issue is with the people in charge - they need some better training. As for the people taking care of her, they're doing a good job. Her room is pretty and very welcoming. Plus, she's a big fan of the food - it's well-rounded and tasty. I'd say go for it and recommend this place, just brace yourself for dealing with the less-than stellar admin and their issues.

"Dirty Room"
My husband's room was quite dirty. He has COPD, and there were many Kleenex tissues scattered on the floor. Some unwashed clothes were lying around. He stays in the memory section but isn't participating in activities. Mostly, he sits in front of the TV. The staff misplaces things frequently.

"Need More Staff and Faster Response Times"
The response times could be better. There should be more staff in the cafeteria because there's not enough help. When residents ring the bell, it can take 30 minutes to an hour for someone to come, which is not acceptable. They really need more people working here.

"Perfect for Mom"
We found that Emeritus in Tracy, CA is perfect for our Mom. She is more active now and making friends. She joins activities and outings. Before, she was at home feeling sad. The staff are amazing and caring. They check on her and help with anything she needs. She is in independent living, and the staff are great. We can eat with her in the dining room and spend time with her when she’s not busy with her new, exciting life. Best move we ever made for her and us. Thank you, Emeritus, for your wonderful services and care.

"Check it out: Homely environment, friendly staff, some food issues."
First month down. Staff is really friendly, which is great. The caregivers are very attentive, but they're a bit short on help. They're doing their best. The only downside so far is that the food isn't amazing. Maybe it takes some getting used to. They've just been taken over by Brookdale, so they're ironing out a few problems. It feels very cozy there. The rooms are a nice size.

"Good place but needs family help for costs"
My 87-year-old aunt loves her apartment, the aides, and the support staff. She says the food is okay. Her laundry gets done, and her apartment is vacuumed by the staff once a week. It's an older facility, but it's clean and has lots of activities. Also, some of the other residents seem to like it too. I haven't met any residents who complained. The support staff is very responsive to requests like fixing a broken shower or lighting fixtures. When I placed my aunt in assisted living at Emeritus, Tracy, I was very hesitant. I felt like a mother leaving her child for the first time, but I have no regrets thanks to the staff who keep my aunt healthy and happy.

"Review Before Choosing: Learn from My Uncle's Mistake"
I concur with negative reviews about ill equipped employees. The workers strive their hardest under a leadership that seems oblivious or apathetic towards Alzheimer's disease. They lack support from the administration when faced with challenging circumstances. Do your homework and tread with caution. My aunt was consistently by another resident, and no help was provided to rectify the situation. There are superior choices available. All it takes is some thorough research. It's crucial that you avoid the error my uncle committed.

"Inadequate Care and Training at Assisted Living Facility"
The staff here lacks proper training. From what I've seen, they don't know how to care for someone with dementia. I wouldn't let anyone stay here, even if there were no other options. I moved my family member out months ago, but I wish I had done it sooner. If the people in charge of the Memory Care part don't get replaced, please, for the sake of your loved ones, don't choose this place.

"Loved Everything, Except Food Service"
I really liked everything about this place. The food service is the only thing I’m not too sure about. I’m waiting to see what happens when they merge with Brookside. Plus, they offer many field trips.

"Good overall, but communication needs improvement"
Their maintenance staff is very responsive. The ladies at the counter get a four. I like the food most of the time; lunch is outstanding, but dinner can be lacking—sometimes a hot dog isn’t enough. Communication for new residents could be better. They didn’t clearly explain what to expect, like someone checking on you at 7:00 AM. The laundry and cleaning staff didn’t introduce themselves as promised. We chose this place partly because of the onsite memory care, which doesn’t feel like a nursing home, and the reasonable price

"Emeritus at Heritage Place, Tracy Review"
In a whirlwind situation, we urgently relocated my Dad across states to a memory care facility. A Place For Mom and Emeritus staff were exceptional, ensuring admission to the Tracy facility within 48 hours. Their dedication, especially over the weekend, left us grateful. However, the rush left me overwhelmed, and I wish I’d researched more. Pricing disclosure was lacking. Quoted $3125/mo for a shared bedroom, we were blindsided when the total came to $4,600. The 30-day minimum requirement was never mentioned upfront. Despite this, I take responsibility for not asking the right questions. During his brief 6-day stay at Tracy, the staff—from the community director to the nurses—was friendly and attentive. Activities were well-suited to the residents’ age and mental conditions. Kudos to the nurses. Cleanliness was an issue, though. My father’s bathroom perpetually smelled of urine, and some lobby furniture had the same issue. While not unexpected, better care could address these lingering odors. The grounds were lovely, rooms spacious, and dining satisfactory. If costs were more affordable, we might have stayed. Instead, we found a board and care residence near our home for $800/mo less, prompting us to move him out of the facility.
