"Mixed Feelings about Assisted Living Facility"
He started at the facility last May and initially felt like a good deal. However, they raised prices significantly on January 1st, which concerns me about the future if they keep raising them so much. On a positive note, he has gained weight, which is a good thing. Unfortunately, he doesn't join in the activities offered. I've only interacted with a few staff members, and they've been helpful and open to my requests. It's tough because I have to fly to see him, so I can't visit very often.

"Mixed Experience at Brookdale Valley View"
My family member stays at Brookdale Valley View. Right now, they don't have enough workers in some parts. The nurses from hospice mostly take care of everything. The food they bring to the rooms doesn't look tasty and they give it with plastic utensils. They serve drinks in Styrofoam cups. But, the folks there are really nice and they try to help.

"Brookdale Valley View: Staff Shortage and Communication Struggles"
We had some issues at Brookdale Valley View: - Not enough staff. - Hard to communicate. - The director acted unprofessionally. - They didn't show empathy to residents.

"Assisted Living Facility: Mixed Experience with Staff and Director"
The fun stuff they do is nice. But my family member needs help cutting food. Sometimes they don't get it from the staff. There aren't enough staff sometimes. There's a new boss, not too impressed yet.

"Mixed Experience with Assisted Living Facility"
Overall, our experience was mostly positive. While I wouldn't choose this place for my mother, it suited my aunt's needs. However, I can't fully recommend the facility. One issue is the limited parking for visitors and the lack of a wheelchair-accessible drop-off/pick-up area near the entrance. Regarding activities, we can't provide feedback since our loved one couldn't participate upon arrival.

"Skilled Nursing Vibes in Assisted Living Setting"
The place was okay, but it felt a lot like being in a nursing home rather than assisted living. People were nice, but it just didn't have that assisted living feel.

""Clean Assisted Living Facility, but Pricey with No Insulin Assistance""
The place was super clean, but they make you pay for the room and then again for each service your mom needs. So in addition to the room's $2,800 fee, there'd be an extra $2,400. That's almost twice as much! They also don't have a nurse to give insulin shots.

"Spacious Rooms, High Move-In Fee, Overall Pleased"
I really liked this place. The rooms were nice and had lots of space for storing things. The fee you pay when you move in is a bit high, but other than that, I was pretty happy with everything.

Things are going well for my dear friend since she moved into this community. The staff has been excellent, and I'm comfortable with the care she's receiving. She enjoys the activities and dining experience with other residents. Overall, we're very pleased.

"Highly Recommended Assisted Living with Spacious Rooms and Great Meals"
My mom stayed here, and everything went smoothly. The staff helped her a lot and made sure she got what she needed. The bedrooms were big, and the food was yummy. I'm happy with how it all turned out and would tell others to check it out for sure.

"My Walk-In Tour of a Nice, Busy Community"
The tour I received gave me a full look at the community and the staff. I came in without an appointment, but they still made time for the tour. It's a nice place, though it felt a bit more crowded. I did notice some street and parking noise, and I had to think about car headlights shining through the windows when people parked.

"Gloomy Brookdale Valley View Not For Me!"
I really didn't enjoy Brookdale Valley View. It was pretty gloomy. The rooms felt so tiny and lacked light. The staff was sweet, but I only really got to talk to this one lady who showed me around. I know I wouldn't be able to live here.

"Great care and more activities for Mom!"
Mom has been doing much better since she moved here. She’s more active now and has better food choices than before. The staff are good at taking care of her and follow her schedule. The nurse and medication techs make sure she gets her meds on time. The place is clean, and she has her own room with a door to the outside.

"Amazing Staff at Brookdale Valley View"
We really like Brookdale Valley View. Staff are great. My dad enjoys it there; he’s a happy camper. He does mention that the food is a bit plain, but I understand it has to be. Everyone who works there is fantastic.

"Great people, smaller facility"
Brookdale Valley View has really great people. We moved my father here from a bigger and nicer Brookdale in Idaho. This one isn’t as big or nice, but the people here are really great!

Okay, but they don't have single bedrooms for around $3,900 per month. They said they could combine two rooms for a higher fee.

"Communication Lacking, but Good Location"
The activities here don't really match what we need. The biggest challenge has been communication. The medical personnel need to do a better job talking with us - it took a week for them to respond to me. Ever since we moved in, we haven't gotten the level of communication we hoped for. But, we do like where this place is located.

"Nice Staff"
They do a lot, but she isn't really interested. There are a few things they could improve on, but overall, that place is much better than most of them. It's not awesome, but some of the places I've seen are way worse. It's a smaller facility with fewer people, and the staff was really kind and nice.

"Not Quite Our Fit"
It was alright. The Emeritus place was a bit farther from me than the one in Garden Grove. Inside their building, it was really dark. The other place is bright, which I like.

"A Supportive Environment for Mom"
I think this place is priced pretty fairly. They do a good job and keep my mom busy with lots of activities. She enjoys going out, playing bingo, and everything else they offer. Overall, they manage well with what they have, even though sometimes they seem a bit overwhelmed. We checked out some places in Long Beach, but Orange County feels safer. I feel confident that this is a better, more supportive place for my mom.

"Slightly less liked but still clean and friendly assisted living."
It was alright. I preferred the Emeritus place in Garden Grove more than this one. This place was tidy and people were nice, but the other place felt like it suited my sister better.

"Best Value"
We chose this place because of its great location. The staff is very nice, and the apartments are a good size. We don't have any complaints about Emeritus. It's the best choice in the area when it comes to staff, price, food, and apartment size. Altogether, it's the best value for us. We're paying $2,700 a month, plus extra for any additional care.

"Nice location, but Aunt didn't fit. Kitchen remodel pending."
The place is in a good spot and looks nice, but it wasn't right for my Aunt. The food was okay, but they're fixing up the kitchen, so they're getting the meals from somewhere else for now. The people who work there are friendly, and most of the residents seem to be from the suburbs, which is nice. Overall, the staff was really nice!
