"Avoid! Ignorance and unsafe practices plague this facility!"
Steer clear of this place! Repeatedly, the personal care aides didn't follow the doctor's meal instructions. The boss doesn't even know the state's rules and keeps having to make calls for guidance, but still gets it all mixed up. I saw dangerous habits when it came to handling food, like washing raw chicken in the sink then wiping the same hands on a kitchen towel and putting it back for others to use. Even worse, food was left out for too long. The training that the caregivers receive is just plain terrible.

"Lack of Regulation and Inadequate Care at Camellia Garden"
A family member of mine was staying at Camellia Garden, and I suggest you think twice before sending your parent there. The owner seems to only follow strict rules when it suits her and avoids trouble. I was shocked by certain behaviours there. The staff's training isn't substantial. And don't get me started on "24/7 care". It basically means they're napping all night on the family room sofa.

"Assisted Living Staff Mistakes Ink-Stained Hand for Medical Emergency"
The so-called nurses at this assisted living residence totally dropped the ball. There was a 911 call because my mom's hand turned a strange purple color. The staff had to call this emergency number. When my brother got to the John Muir emergency room, the doctor told him that it seemed like our mom somehow broke an ink pen. After giving her a clean-up, they let her go back home. It's really embarrassing that we've placed our mom in such horrible living conditions.
