"Small Apartments, Broken Fountain"
The place is pretty, surrounded by trees. The apartments are smaller than I thought, especially the studio—it's basically just a bedroom. Ground floor units have good outside access, which matters for my MIL's small dog. There's a broken water fountain.

"Clean, Friendly Assisted Living with Location Concerns"
My visit to Carlton Senior Living Downtown Pleasant Hill was great. The place was clean, and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately, the location didn’t work for me.

"Nice Staff, Small Rooms, Basic Food"
The folks here are nice, and the place looks neat, but the one-bedroom spots are really small. The food they serve is mostly casseroles, mac and cheese, and stuff you’d find in a school lunchroom. They’ve got a beautiful garden in the middle, but for sharing between my mom and aunt, it just wasn’t the right fit.

"Friendly Staff and Social Atmosphere Make Carlton Ideal for Seniors"
The folks at Carlton are friendly and remember your name. It seems like a great place for my dad because they're very social. They have happy hour two times a week and lots of other activities every day. He enjoys the restaurant-style dining area and the food. The community is neat and I think it's a good choice.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Activity and Atmosphere"
This place wasn't very cheerful when my mom stayed here. The people living here weren't as energetic. They seemed to be older and not as lively. The workers did their best to involve the residents in things to do. They have exercise sessions and offer massages. The workers were friendly, and they kept everything clean.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Clean, Friendly, and Perfect Fit for Her"
They are doing really well. I like them a lot. I don't have big worries right now. It stays clean and the staff is nice and caring. It's just right for her.

"Disappointment in Assisted Living Facility's Subpar Services"
Moving here wasn't a good experience. The staff seemed untrained and sloppy. They didn't manage my medication well and never followed through on the things they promised. I had to constantly check in with them to make sure things were getting done. Their standard procedures weren't being followed, and it felt like the staff wasn't even awake half the time. They were always short-staffed and overworked! The managers were no help at all. They never returned my calls or emails. Once you move in, they practically forget you exist! The director promised to make a plan and meet with me and my trustees, but he never did! They don't automatically provide the services they're supposed to, like helping to escort you around and managing medication. You have to remind them constantly! Overall, it was a really bad experience. I'm very displeased!

"Good care, but figuring out the system is a bit tough"
My husband has been here for just under three weeks. He hasn't joined many activities yet, but we're working on it. Choosing this place was easy because they're privately owned and can be flexible. Overall, it's been pretty good. I'm having a hard time figuring out who to talk to about what, but maybe I'm just not asking the right questions.
