"Heartfelt Thanks to Carmel 1 and A Place For Mom"
We're grateful beyond words for: A Place For Mom... because of their help, we chose to move my mother-in-law into Carmel 1. She's been living there for almost a year and is doing way better than when she stayed in her own home with 24/7 caregivers. We want to thank the whole team and everyone at Carmel. A super special and genuine thank you to the owner.

"Facility Fails to Provide Adequate Care for Alzheimer's Patients"
I would firmly advise against choosing this facility. The restrooms do not accommodate wheelchairs or walkers. To me, their claim of round-the-clock care simply entails a night shift including the cook, and possibly another unseen staff member. My mom, a wheelchair user, couldn’t operate the old-fashioned intercom system on the wall. Consequently, there was no mode of communicating from a bedroom without yelling. Although this is supposedly a home for Alzheimer's patients, they found my mom a burden because she would sleep during the day, just after leaving a busy rehab center, and resist taking her medication. In my view, it's the worst possible choice for anyone battling dementia or Alzheimer's.

"Friendly, clean, and caring home for loved ones"
Carmel is a great board and care home. The staff have been amazing in taking care of my mom. The place is friendly and clean, and my mom was very happy there. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place for a loved one.

"Bright, Well-Maintained Facility with Fun Activities and BBQs"
It's a great place! I've seen it for years while driving by. On Wednesdays, they have a little BBQ. They offer exercise classes, walks, and memory classes. There are monthly classes and they even had a memorial party. The place is very bright and full of light, and both the inside and outside are well maintained.

"Assisted Living Review: Safe and Pleasant, Needs More Activities"
This place has been pretty good so far. Overall, it’s a nice place to be, and it’s comforting to know our loved one is safe and comfortable here. The staff are all really nice and know what they’re doing, and the building is always clean and looks nice. The only thing I wish they would improve is their activities. When I visit, it seems like there isn’t much going on for the residents.

"Safe and Pleasant Community"
They've done a great job here so far. Overall, it's a really nice place, and it's reassuring to know that our loved one is safe and comfortable. The staff are all friendly and professional, and the facility itself is always clean and well-maintained. My only complaint is that their activities seem a bit lacking—I haven't seen them doing much when I visit.

"Unhelpful and Unsympathetic Assisted Living Facility Experience"
I ran into multiple problems when my family member stayed at this home. I wouldn't suggest anyone place their loved one in it. During the initial tour, I felt lied to about the quality of the homes. They have a bunch of homes lined up as living facilities. The one they showed me was much better than the one my loved one ended up in. Unfortunately, my family member's health took a turn, and they passed away. Discussing any final details with the owner was a harsh experience. My loved one died early in the month, and the owner got upset when I asked about getting a refund for the unused days that I had already taken care of. Overall, I thought my family member wasn't getting the compassion and attention they deserved in this place.

""Misleading Tour and Heartless Owner Upset Grieving Family Member""
During my family member's stay at this assisted living home, I had lots of problems that make me advise others not to send their loved ones here. Immediately, I felt tricked by the initial tour that showed a much nicer house than the one my loved one ended up staying in. The homes looked like they were meant for regular people, but the reality was different. When my loved one's health declined and she died, the owner was very harsh. My family member died at the start of a month that I had paid for in advance, but when I asked if I could get some money back, the owner became really mad. I didn’t think the treatment and understanding my loved one received were up to the mark in this place.
